Us fans will  never know the fee. Everything with Fulham is undisclosed.
Absolutely agree.

Sorry I forgot to mention what I have said in previous threads and that is that we will be lucky to have Elliott beyond his 19th birthday. Rumour has it that he has already made his mind up on this.
Hopefully that was made under previous management although it could have been by his Agents!

filham

Yes. it is time for Sess. to move on to a top Premiers league club and if Spurs is his choice then it would be best if he went there. However Fulham should get the true value of their asset, let us not again see Spurs taking our player at a give away price.

Tony Khan is going to be judged by how this works out, he needs to be seen to negotiate a good price with Spurs.

F(f)CUK

Cannot believe the deluded comments that we can afford to run down his contract. In these days of financial fair play we have no option but to sell him.

I don't disagree. Many fans think with their hearts and not their minds.

Ara's bacon crisps

Tell Spurs the price is £30m and for that they also get first refusal on Elliott in 1/2 years' time?

If someone offered $50 million for him last year, FFC for sure should have sold him and made a huge mistake in not selling him. Regardless, they should sell him now if what they're offered is more than what the club values Ryan at. I think the Elliott kid will be an upgrade and can replace him.

You've come to this conclusion from 15 minutes against Newcastle ??

Not just that. The fact he was even on the bench. They rate him and he'll have to do because Ryan is leaving. Someone will have to step up.

I do actually think Elliott might be more of a footballer than Ryan. Time will tell.

Ryan Sessegnon will be leaving Fulham this transfer window, if David Levy isn't the highest bidder the sone other team will be. If Tottenham get outbid on Sessegnon, then it's committed to being a Top Six Club but not a Top Four Club. Don't be surprised if ManCity end up getting Sessegnon to replace Delph (he is only a backup left back) or Liverpool.
And what happens if the lad says i am not moving anywhere other than to a London club? Only paper and sky sports talk but apparently he has told the club he only wants to go to spurs. Whether I believe that or not is irrelevant, but if true and that happens we can't afford to keep him and get nothing for him.

filham

It was suggested on another thread that we have valued Sess. at £45. Someone should leak to  Spurs that if they play their cards right and don't delay then they could possibly get him for £44m.

I would have thought 45 million is the most we would get in an auction given he only has a year left on his contract.

Reports have suggested spurs want to pay 25 and we want 45, will be a long summer on this i reckon

So it means we have to negotiate, negotiate and negotiate which sounds like a long drawn out summer but interest from one or two other big clubs may make Spurs see things our way sooner rather than later.

filham

Send Sess on a couple of away day trips to Manchester and Madrid, the word would get across to North London and result in Spurs becoming more sensible.

Could do yes, but his agent will be saying doesn't matter who bods he wants spurs, it is unfortunate but that's how it works sadly.

Yes but we say to his agent if spurs want him it X millions or he doesn't get to talk to them and we have accepted a bid from Y and he can talk to them or stay here

Surely if we dont give spurs permission to talk to Sess and they do, we can sue

We can report them then yes

We can say to spurs it's x and don't sell him unless that is met however if he doesn't go elsewhere we then lose him for nothing next season and have an unhappy player who doesn't want to ply.

I am Sure he will play but losing 25/30 million will hurt, be foolhardy to do that

As I've said on another thread he won't sit on the bench and sulk for 3 reasons. 1. He hardly set the world alight last season so needs to show he isnt just a flash in the pan. 2. He needs first team football to develop. 3. He needs to stay in the shop window.

It's going to cost 20 mill min to replace him and even then it's a risk. He was player of the Championship remember. Unless we get 30 mill we may as well keep him. If we go up and then lose him on a free it's been more than worth it.

Joel I think you misunderstand me, i am saying the same as you he wont do those things for the reasons you say, the holy slight difference is that while he was the player of the championship that was a year ago and football has short memories. Look at Seri the year before we bought him he almost moved to Barca for 60 million, had a bad season and we get him for circa 17-20. On our side is Sess is English and young English players come at a premium, so for me max we get is 35 given his contract status, probably around 30 million.

Our issue is there is a rule in the championship about number of home grown players in the squad on match days, so do we need to replace with an English player or are we ok to shop abroad

What do I think?

Well, before anyone starts talking about what the club should do, we all have to remember that these days the players (and their agents) hold almost all the best cards!

Its very rare the player doesn't get his way, as long as there's at least one team willing to oblige him and in this case our club have little to offer the player other than regular game time.

Its at this point we have to forget looking at this from our own point of view because many will say why sit on the bench when you can get a season of Championship games under your belt!

But the modern player will mainly see the opportunity and prestige of playing for a top 6 club, the contract he will get (Money) and the chance to progress his talent working within a bigger set up, better players and a high profile HC.

Ryan will not think a full season in the Championship with us will allow him to regain his status as a great talent, quite the opposite, he will see a season working with the likes of Spurs as the way to further his career even if game time is limited.

That's the way it works these days so if he wants to go he will.
If he has a club in mind and they want him it will happen and if the circumstances are favourable (contract running down) to the buying club they will pay less.

Only if potential buying clubs see complications that will make things difficult for them will they withdraw, such as when Liverpool tapped up Clint.

I don't like it but we shouldn't take it personally its just business!

Beamer

I agree with Bill Taylors Apprentice on one thing and that it is not personal, however, for that reason I feel that we are entitled to conduct our business as we see fit. If the club decide that we would rather keep him for his final year if we don't get the figure we believe is achievable (maybe if he helps gets us back in the Prem £25mill will look well worth having rejected - it's a gamble but that is up to the club to decide on), I for one would back their decision. There is little point at this stage in his career in him sulking in the reserves for a season and setting himself back a season when he would be best served to be playing regularly.
I don't know what he is currently worth but we certainly shouldn't be selling him at a reduced figure because that is the club he wants to go to - and that's not personal.
