I noticed that Trippier left for A Madrid for $20 million. He has 2 years on his contract and is an England international. Putting aside your opinion on his ability doesn't that seem like a small fee in this day and age? What am i missing?

Buffalo76

In the current football financial climate it does seem somewhat on the cheap side.

I think that his contract running out in 2 years has something to do with it. They'd have to give him considerably increased wages to keep him and Poch doesn't rate him very highly. And they're probably more willing to let him go abroad cheap than selling him to a rival.

Same thing will happen with Danny Rose soon.

A good example of why I can't see Levy offering £20m or more for our England u21 international with 1 year on his contract

St Eve

It looks like you are right about Rose. Erikson may be going soon to

He's better for England than he is for spurs. Odd player really, lots of potential which still seems to allude him.
