Marcus handled outside box. Dale Stevens took it and Marcus thought it was indirect and was not ready.
Goal stood but players still having a go at officials

I'd have thought a professional footballer would know the basic rules, ie, direct free kick for handball.

Probably thought of the back pass handball which gives an indirect and not a pen.

having seen it on brightons twitter he looked ready just two players ran across his path and Murray may have got a touch

That's what i was thinking

Betts made two saves to keep us in it. Sess looks a lot better than Christie

You at the game then?

Going by Jim's Commentary.
Jim thinks Marcus thought it was indirect.
Think Jim is confused but maybe ref didn't whistle??

That very well may be the explanation, Marcus was mad it was given in first place.

As from this season the side taking the free kick doesn't have to wait for the referee to whistle, Betts should have been aware of the rule. Hopefully he will remember this in any league game.
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

The dispute was because a Brighton player was in an offside position when the ball went in.

Which shows why these friendlies are so important. He'll know now for next time.
I was there, standing in the Putney end

Betts not much to it... Look at the ref, arm up- in-direct and arm down- direct...
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most...

Again they can be as long as not making a move to the ball or in the line of the keeper

Saw Jayden Harris last season & thought he looked a really decent prospect.
