Second-half substitute Atdhe Nuhiu wheels away to celebrate his injury time equaliser

An injury-time header from substitute Atdhe Nuhiu rescued a point for Sheffield Wednesday against Fulham at Hillsborough

The Kosovan striker nodded in a deflected Kadeem Harris cross in the 93rd minute to earn his side a draw.

Fulham's Tom Cairney opened the scoring against the run of play in the first half after Keiren Westwood parried a Joe Bryan cross into his path.

Visiting goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli made a string of good saves but Nuhiu found a way past him at the death.

Both sides had early chances in the opening period which saw Steven Fletcher and Alexander Mitrovic both head wide.

Bettinelli was forced into a fine double save after 24 minutes as he kept out both Adam Reach's header and Fletcher's follow-up, with the Owls in the ascendency.

But it was Fulham who struck three minutes before half-time, when midfielder Cairney was left with a simple finish after Westwood pushed Bryan's cross into his path.

The Owls introduced Jacob Murphy on the hour and he almost scored with his first touch, but his back post header drifted wide.

Nuhiu also came off the bench, replacing Fletcher with 13 minutes to go, and had the last word with his equaliser sparking wild celebrations at Hillsborough.

Scott Parker was left rueing a late defensive lapse in concentration as the Whites were forced to settle for a point on a frustrating afternoon in South Yorkshire.

Holding a slender 1-0 lead heading into stoppage time it appeared the three points would be returning to London. However, a late header saw the spoils shared for a second week running.

"It's obviously disappointing to concede late," Parker said. "Also the way in which the goal came and the manner it came makes it even more disappointing.

"We played well in the first half and got our noses in front in a tough place to come.

"But in the end it is basic defending that has cost us. Ultimately we sit here with a point rather than three.

"The second half wasn't as good as the first and you would like to think we should have seen out the game there today. But it wasn't the case."

The result means Fulham have not won in five successive matches. Despite this dip in form the Head Coach insists his side must keep their heads up keep doing what they are doing and focus on the fine margins in each encounter to ensure they return to winning ways.

"We need to keep doing what we are doing," he stated. "We've had some tough games but the fine margins are clearly on show.

"Last week was the same. A mistake cost us and today was the same. In the dying moments when we felt like we were going to get three points and get things rolling we couldn't close it out.

"We move on and head into the good run of games where we will look to win some football matches.

"If we had beaten West Brom 1-0 everyone would be saying what a great side we are. If we hung on today we would be feeling positive.

"That's not the case.

"But we have got a good squad here. I believe in what we are doing and we have to approach the next few games looking to pick up points.

"This is a tough league. Teams have been banking up against us but we have the quality in this team and the squad to win football matches.

"We must move on from today and go again."

Liverpool expected to splash out eight-figure sum on Championship talent

Fulham believe that they will be awarded over £10m for teenage talent Harvey Elliott who left for Liverpool this summer.

The 16-year-old broke a Premier League record back in May by becoming the youngest ever player to feature when he came on as a substitute for the Cottagers against Wolves.

However, as he was too young to sign a professional contract, the Championship side were always vulnerable to losing the youngster and that proved to be the case, with the European champions announcing his arrival in July.

Then, it was down to the two clubs to agree a fee for the player but that didn't happen, meaning an independent tribunal will decide how much Liverpool pay for the teenager.

And, Football Insider have revealed that the Londoners are expecting to receive a fee of at least £10m for Elliott.

They will submit a case to the tribunal that the attacking midfielder has the potential to go on to become a Premier League star.

Elliott has been impressive for Liverpool's U23 side this season and could make his senior debut against MK Dons in the League Cup during the week.

The verdict

This would be a lot of money for Fulham to pick up for a 16-year-old but you can understand why they think that would be a fair valuation in today's market.

But, you don't really know how these things will play out, which is why it was a risk for the Cottagers not to agree a fee.

A decision still isn't expected to be made for a few months yet though, so it will be interesting to see what the eventual figure is.

Injury-time goal denies Fulham victory

Fulham were forced to settle for third consecutive draw as Atdhe Nuhiu's injury-time goal earned Sheffield Wednesday a point.

Fulham once again dominated possession and looked set for a fourth Championship win of the season thanks to Tom Cairney's close-range finish just before the break.

But the Owls had the better chances throughout and deserved the equaliser, which finally came three minutes into added time when substitute Nuhiu turned in a Kadeem Harris cross.

Aleksandar Mitrovic headed an early chance wide for Fulham, but the hosts then started to look more dangerous.

Steven Fletcher shot wide and Cottagers keeper Marcus Bettinelli had to make smart saves to deny Adam Reach, Fletcher and Kieran Lee.

Cairney's simple low shot then put Fulham ahead and that seemed set to be good enough for victory as the home side's chances began to dry up.

However, Nuhiu intervened in the third minute of six minutes of injury-time.

'Absolute disgrace' – Plenty of Fulham fans call for key figure to be sacked after latest performance

Fulham were left frustrated as they conceded late on in their game against Sheffield Wednesday in a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.

The Cottagers took the lead on the day through Tom Cairney, and were in front for the majority of the contest on Saturday, before Atdhe Nuhiu netted a late equaliser for Garry Monk's side.

The result means that Fulham currently sit 12th in the Championship table, and they'll be keen to turn their poor run of form around at the earliest of opportunities.

Scott Parker's side are winless in their last five games in all competitions, which is certainly frustrating for the Craven Cottage faithful who will be keen to see their side make an immediate return back into the Premier League this season.

Parker seems to be coming under pressure from the club's fans, and he'll know that they need to find a win as soon as possible to ease the pressure on him.

It's safe to say that plenty of Fulham supporters weren't pleased after they were forced to settle for a point on the day.

Fulham's Possession Style Football Is NOT Working As Another Two Points Are Lost ............ Here's Why!

Scott Parker, Fulham's boss, has stated that the possession style of play is the way forward for the club.

If we look at today's statistics, yet again the team dominated possession with 71% against Sheff Wed's 29%.

We are supposed to have the Championship's best attacking players, so if we are to believe Scottie, then why did our opponents manage 12 shots, with 5 on target, against our total of 9 shots with a measly 2 on target?

This is now four league matches on a trot, no wins, three draws and a defeat. This is NOT promotion results.

Luckily, we are only eight games in, and there is a long way to go. If however, we really expect to mount a promotion push, things need to change.

I fully back Parker in his team selections, including Bettinelli, who was good today, but his stance on our style of play is not working. With no disrespect to our last four opponents, with the team we have, we should have gained at least eight points, instead of an awful three.

If the boss wants to continue in charge, he must consider changing our style when we are not banging in the goals we should be. Players seem to support Parker, as he is an affable chap, but for how long, especially if the wins do not start happening soon, and regularly?

If we do not give Wigan a good hiding on Friday at the Cottage, then it is not too soon to change things before we are allowing the points gap at the top to open up too far.

Jokanovic lost his job for not responding to the team's needs, and not making the right decisions at the right time. I hope Parker doesn't follow suit.
