A much faster backline in 2017/18 made overlapping a much safer prospect.

FIFA Pace Stats 17/18: Ream 65 Odoi 85 Christie 83, R.Sess 82 Targett    75  Kalas     75   Fredricks 92
FIFA Pace Stats 19/20: Ream 61 Odoi 77 Christie 82,  Bryan 77 Marchand 68  Mawson 54   S.Sess    71

I don't believe it.  Are you claiming the FIFA in game stats are meaningful?  Please say you are not.

I have to agree. As much as I enjoy a stat using them from CM/FM/FIFA for any kind of argument is a no no

FIFA stats are really just someone's opinion, in this case i believe a correct opinion, basically we have slower backline now than in 17/18. Particularly down the right we are much slower, at CB Mawson is slower than Odoi and at RB Steven Sessegnon is slower than Fredricks. This makes us more vulnerable on the counter attack and makes it more dangerous for full backs to get behind their defenders.

I think both Bryan and especially Sessegnon can offer more going forward. We just need to find a balance so we don't get exposed. Also wingers to occasionally swap and a bit more movement in midfield.
