The weaknesses of the WM formation (3-2-5) was exposed in the Match of the Century (1953 England v Hungary), where Hungry scored 6 goals against England.

The game was well before i was born, but every football book on tactics ever written refers to that game and how it destroyed the 3-2-5.

We should start with no more than four of the five every game and use the other as a sub.

I vaguely remember that game, England v Hungary - The Mighty Magyars. It was a watershed moment for English football, and probably influenced future England manager Alf Ramsey, who played in it.
He also played for Spurs, and  they went onto develop their famous 'push and run' Double winning style, and you can clearly see the Hungarians  deploying this in the clip.

I suppose that's how Fulham try to play, under Slava and now under  Parker.

Puskas, The Little General, made Hungary tick, and Fulham had their own Puskas in Johnny Haynes.
