Fulham boss sends message to squad after disappointing defeatScott Parker will no doubt have been dismayed to see his Fulham side lose 2-0 away at lowly Stoke City last weekend, with the defeat coming after a run of four Championship games unbeaten for the Cottagers, compounding them to just their third defeat this season. Luckily for the Whites, they have a chance to redeem themselves quickly, with the west Londoners taking on another struggling Championship side in the shape of Luton Town tonight at Craven Cottage.
With the Whites still recovering from their surprise defeat to the Potters last time out, it is perhaps unsurprising that Parker has urged his players to put things right tonight against the Hatters, with the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder telling Fulhamfc.com:
“We need to reboot and quickly look onto what’s next, because they keep coming thick and fast.”
This could be a tougher game for Parker’s side than first thought, particularly with the Hatters having recorded an impressive 3-0 home win over Championship high-flyers Bristol City last time out.
The Verdict From my perspective, I can certainly see this being a tough game for the Whites, particularly with Luton playing an expansive attacking style that is likely to test the Fulham backline considerably, which could perhaps their weaknesses when out of possession.
Parker will definitely not be taking this game lightly, with the ex-West Ham man clearly expressing his desire for the team to get back on track as they seek to get a firm grip on one of the promotion places this season, as they seek to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
With Fulham possessing probably the best front three in the Championship, I do fear for Luton if messrs Mitrovic, Knockaert and Cavaleiro find their shooting boots at Craven Cottage tonight.
Especially because the Hatters defence has already shipped 20 goals in their first 12 league outings this term, something Graeme Jones will no doubt be looking to improve if they are to stand a chance of staying in the second division this term.
