QSI investment within the next 48 hours, but will not be announced until January, Leeds expected to go big in the January transfer window, to secure promotion to the Premier League, and trigger a full buyout for QSI.

Promotion just got that little bit more difficult..

Fulham76

You're probably right but splashing a load of cash doesn't guarantee anything, (Fulham spring to mind). They could end up with some Seri type waste of space.

I think the point is really, they already have a very good squad and they'll look to reinvest further in January rather than buy a new team half way through the season. But we'll see I suppose.

The price of all players with Championship experience and reasonable stats. is about to have 20% added on when responding to enquiries from Leeds.

Enfield

And their first target in January will be Mitro.

Unless our form changes phenomenally and immediately, clubs like Leeds and West Brom aren't really relevant to us anymore. Our competitors are the likes of Forest and Bristol City a bit further down the table.

Makes you wonder if the Khan's have taken note and may move to make changes sooner rather than later.

Leeds will smash the next eight games with us and Hull their hardest opponents (around 19 points) plus what they need in the winter transfer window is clear a striker and backup striker. An Improved striker bought in the winter will make them completely uncatchable getting close to 92 points.

We can catch WBA who have a harder draw but it will be very hard, but our best chance is through the playoffs but we cannot play the same XI for 46 games and expect to have Cairney and Mitro on fire in the playoffs.

You mean "what are the odds Leeds United repeat 8 point in their last 9 games?", I would say pretty low given the games are against Cardiff, Fulham, Luton, Blackburn, Stoke, Swansea, Barnsley, Derby and Charlton. Plus, they are rotating their squad more this season than last season and now they have Costa off the bench.

I'm not too worried by Bristol City. I think they let in too many goals to stay up at the top and they always start well and then fade away.

last 3 years at 15 games 10,4,6 and finished 8,11,17

How often does any of these predictions really turn out correct? Especially the short term ones predicting the next eight games?

In any case, it doesn't matter what Leeds will do because that is not where our focus should be now. Our focus should be on starting to play closer to our capacity, because if we do I believe that we still have a good chance of competing with anyone this year. If we don't, well then Leeds is really not our worry at all.

As I have kept saying for years, dont worry about the other teams as they are in some ways irelevant. A team will still get about 75-77 pts for 6th and about 87-90 for 2nd be it Leeds, preston, Swansea or even Fulham. You have to target your own results and the rest will work out the way they do.

THIS

Leeds are largely irrelevant and without their investments we need to be looking at 90 pts to finish above them / in the top 2. We're currently miles off that target and unless we go on a most unexpected run in some tough fixtures coming up next, we're likely to play off contenders, nothing more - which given the talent in our squad relative to the rest of the league barring Leeds & WBA, is pretty poor going.

Them fixture's mean nothing, doesn't guarantee them wins as anyone can do anyone in this league.
We've failed to beat the 3 teams sitting in the relegation spots.

Exactly this.  The names of teams may give you short term bragging rights but the points you accumulate over a season win promotion.  Two teams will hit the target for automatic promotion and four others will occupy the next four places by gathering more points than any beneath them.  The whole season is really about aiming for the best point per game ratio you can achieve regardless of whatever else anyone does.  Two points per game will almost certainly win top two, and slightly less should guarantee a play off spot.  Regardless of who you play in achieving those ratios.

They would need a Tony in their recruitment team to make such a big mistake as that.

I don't disagree, but the bookies, whilst wrong occasionally, get it right most of the time.

This year the bookies' predicted top 3 was Leeds, Fulham and West Brom.

For about the 3rd time in 6 years, we look likely to be the one the bookies totally overestimated, who astound everyone by doing nowhere near as well as predicted.

But realistically, you can't see them going far wrong with the other two. I'd be astounded if Leeds and West Brom don't both at least finish in the top 3-4 this season.
