Reminds me of our trip to the Olympic Stadium Rome

Swansea fans living in Cardiff had to travel to Swansea's ground early this morning to be part of the away fans bubble making their way to the Cardiff City Stadium.  I seem to recall wasting 3 hours in a Rome park for the escort to the half empty ground.  I'm sure it's necessary if some fans cant control their emotions but what a waste of time.

We missed our plane so got a later one then a taxi to the ground. Carabinieri whizzed us right to the turnstile and we walked the 10 yards to the bar with just enough time for a pint of (OK, alcohol free) lager before kickoff.
But then were locked in with the rest of the hooligans until we were all bussed back to the City Centre. I recall seeing just the one old lady Roma fan giving us the finger on the bus journey!

The three hours stuck in the Rome park was ridiculous as was the searching of fans when we got on the buses and again at the ground. After the match wasn't much better when we were held again in the stadium for quite a significant amount of time. It wasn't a great experience. I spent three days in Rome, we lose 2-1, have two players sent off and it rained most of the time.

We left for the ground in a taxi and after getting reassured he would drop us at the away end he dropped us nowhere near.Fortunately the police escorted us to our stand.the abiding memory of the game was when we disc Verde a pint of wine was cheaper than a beer and everyone drinking Red wine.Well I say memory.
