Very bad flooding  where I live in the north west, despite loads of money spent, and traffic disruption for two years, on flood defences - the new defensive wall cracked and was swept away.

Although i live on top of a steep hill,  had to get out quick with sandbags early today to divert torrential water flowing down from the moors before it came in our front door.

I was out for a run early, and I've never seen it so bad - it was  just like you imagine being in a hurricane.

I have several tiles missing from my summer house and a tree down right at the front of my drive hit the gate, consequently damaging it  McCormack style.   

Engineer out to fix it tomorrow, luckily (or not) work for myself at home.
