I still think it's for Leeds to lose !

I know this is flying in the face of current popular opinion, and that many Leeds supporters would disagree with me let alone any Fulham supporters,
But looking at their run in I just don't see many opportunities for them to slip up, here are their remaining fixtures,
Home - Bristol City, Reading, Huddersfield, Fulham, Luton, Stoke, Barnsley, Charlton
Away - Brentford, Middlesbrough,  Hull City, Cardiff, Blackburn, Swansea, Derby
Even if they drop points against Brentford, I just can't see many opportunities after that where they are going to drop many more,
Every time the likes of Fulham, Forest and Brentford play each other they've got the perfect opportunity to take advantage,
Their best player Kelvin Phillips has been missing for the last three games, he's now back, just feel that one win will give them their momentum and confidence back and off they go again,
Our run in is littered with obstacles along the way, and by definition if we've got the tougher run in then we've had it easier up to now,
I think it's WBA and Leeds for the top 2 , then us, Forest, Brentford and one other (take your pick) for the play offs,
Anybody want to make a strong case for us finishing top 2 ?

Riversider, logically what you say make sense but teams so are evenly balance in the Championship. Just look at our game on Saturday , Barnsley in the relegation spot but they beat us at the beginning of the season and Cauley Woodrow seems to be in form and will be keen to score against us, a possible banana skin but Leeds will no doubt be facing  similar situations.

I think Leeds have shown clearly over the last month or so that they are well capable of slipping up against most teams, both home and away. They have recently lost at home to both Wigan and QPR. If they will slip up is for the future to tell of course, but don't see that their remaining fixtures looks so easy.

I am actually not too worried about the fixtures of any team (including us). If we play well we will now have a great chance of automatics.

bobbo

They are doing a pretty good job of trying to lose it.
1975 just leaving home full of hope

I had a feeling that we would go up via the playoffs a couple of years ago, then that we would be relegated last year. This year I have a feeling that we will fall short in the playoffs. Hope that l am wrong and we go up automatically.

we only need to get 1 more point then them to be in the top two they could win every game bar 1 but if we win every game we finish above them

Not worried. I'd take our squad (including the manager) over any team in the Championship.

Fulham controls its own destiny.

Fulham controls its own destiny as long as it wins every remaining game, three-points dropped in 15 games means we no longer controls its own destiny.

I agree, that I'd take our squad over any team in the Championship, but i suspect our manager needs more time than available to get us playing well.

The problem that Leeds have is - who scores the goals?

Patrick Bamford is their main striker and he's been substituted off in 15 of the 30 games he's played this season and only scored 12 goals - I'm sure Mitro would have been on his bike last month if Parker had hooked him off mid-game and replaced him with an Arsenal learner so often

Our problem has always been goals against and Hector seems to have gone some way towards putting a plug in that hole.
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

How come people think Leeds have a goal-scoring problem with 46 goals in 31 games, and Fulham don't have a goal-scoring problem with 46 goals in 31 games?

Logically speaking if the Championship is there for virtually any side in the top eight or so to win it is also there for any of those same sides to lose.  At the moment anyone going on a run of six wins or more is going to have a momentum none of the other competitors have shown in 2020.  I'm expecting lots of twists and turns before the season is done and dusted.  It's all about getting results which was true on day one of the season.  By Easter the table may look quite different to what it does now.

Let's hope this is the case!

Few gave us a chance of top two a few weeks ago, Leeds and WBA so many points ahead, but now I feel it could be any two out of the top 6 for automatic, though i think WBA will  be there, and write Leeds off at your peril.
Forest and Brentford also really look like contenders atm.

But , its the boring mantra - one game at a time for us - Scott has really excelled lately in his tactics and preparation for games, and every player has stepped up to the mark, with our magnificent support , especially away, behind us.
As fans we just need to keep getting  behind manager and team, for every game, even if we falter along the way, as we are bound to do.

Leeds' away fixtures do not look that easy to me. Most important, we can not loose when we play them. Like others said: one game at the time. Hopefully the PL experience in our squad will pull us through. I look forward going to the den tomorrow night.

I think the strongest case for us being top 2 is both current form and our newly improved defensive record. 5 clean sheets in our last 7 league games is hugely impressive.

Artful Dodger

We don't exactly have a great record against teams in the bottom 6 so i'm not sure league position is an indicator of result in this league! 2 Years ago, I remember a period in about Feb / March when we had to play all the top 6 in a row (we were just outside the playoffs i think) and everyone was saying it was make or break - and we went unbeaten with a great win over Wolves. So, it is a case of concentrate on our own form and don't worry about the others and if we pick up enough wins in the last 15 games, we will go up regardless of what Leeds or anyone else does.

Leeds are so strange... they lost to wigan, at ellnd road 1st Feb so you cannot say this game is easier than that purely on league table position.

no doubt all the top few will have some strange results on the run in. let's hope we have more consistency than the rest.

Riversider

Lots of Fulham supporters celebrating Leeds getting a draw tonight, but I've got a horrible feeling that over the next four weeks and on to the end of the season this draw at Brentford  is going to prove really pivotal for them , hopefully I'm wrong .

We DO think Fulham have a goal scoring problem.

But we're ok with it.
