Going to the wire I believe.
Preston are the dark horses, for the players at
their disposal, they are superbly organised by Neil.
Cardiff have crept into picture as well, couple of places outside play offs.

Yep, it's why it's even more frustrating when we don't do a WestBrom and get that breathing space. Too many teams in and around it now and I'm not confident we'll win enough games compared to others.

Sgt Fulham

I'd happily play Preston, Cardiff, or Millwall in the Playoffs. I'd more happily play none!

No game is easy one way or another. Some games that look hard on paper turn out to be a comfortable victory. Other games that look easier turn out to be tough as old boots and we come away with nothing.
No game is ever predictable in this Division, Fulham are not the only team dropping points. There are 3 points
between 2nd and 7th place. That's how close it is. It's in our own hands, if we win all our matches we go up automatically.

We don't have the killer instinct to grab that winner under Parker. Too defensive.

Think we will make playoffs however.

Black Beauty is also a Dark Horse. but he ain't getting promotion either. Preston will be feeling very hoarse after playing Fulham.

Yes the killer extinct is missing I have to admit. Which can be the difference between success and failure.

The xG stats indicate, not only a lack of killer instinct but also a lack of creativity is also missing in 8 of the last 12 games:
against Preston our xG was 0.71
against Brentford our xG was 0.75
against Leeds our xG was 1.14
against Hull our xG was 0.14
against Charlton our xG was 0.74
against Huddersfield our xG was 0.88
against Blackburn our xG was 1.05
against Milwall our xG was 1.05
xG of 1.05 = three chances that should be scored 35% of the time= 3 x 0.35 =1.05

Our attacking midfield  and wide players need to create more chances, we cannot rely on cleans sheets and/or excellent finishing in 2/3 of our matches.

The teams around us will all be playing each other at some point, Leeds seem to have the easiest run in (not that any games seem to be easy in the championship). Come  sometime in April it could be a case of extreme squeaky botty time  :022:.

My previous relative confidence is starting to evaporate after last night. That was a real opportunity missed. I think (but hope I am wrong) we will come to really regret last night, Charlton, Luton, etc. Games we really should be winning with this squad.

A week on football is a long time, hopefully we shall be back on track by Saturday 5pm.

Or shall we get swallowed by "The Peloton"?

So disappointed we didn't take advantage last night then we should have hung on like a Piranah fish.
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

Just had a look/thought/calculation and this is the table for me:

West Brom 88
Fulham 86
_____
Leeds 85
Forest 80
Brentford 77
Preston 76
_____
Cardiff 75
Blackburn 73
Bristol City 72
Swansea 72
Birmingham 68
Derby 66
Milwall 66
She Wed 64
Hull 64
reading 52
Charlton 52
Boro 50
QPR 50
Stoke 47
Luton 46
_____
Huddersfield 42
Wigan 41
Barnsley 31

Probably completely wrong but oh well.

I just can't see how we'll flourish with those March fixtures. I'd absolutely love to come away from Bristol, Leeds and Brentford with 9 points but lets face it.....its hugely doubtful.

I think most of the numbers are about right, except Fulham based on Milwall form could be around 81 points and Brenford to around 82 points. Plus I'd swap give Cardiff and Bristol move and Preston and Blackburn less.

Brentford 82

Each team has a chance to break free of "The Peloton" with four straight wins at any point.
Leeds have Reading, Middlesbrough FC, Hull, and Huddersfield.
Fulham have Barnsley, Derby, Swansea, and Preston.
Brenford have Reading, Wigan, Charlton, and Derby.
Forest have Middlesbrough, Millwall, Wednesday, and Huddersfield.
Bristol and Preston are unlikely to break free of "The Peloton", but could scrap auto-promote.

The tougher way to break free of "The Peloton" is winning all the six-point games.
If Fulham beat Preston, Bristol, Brentford, Leeds and Forest, then auto-promotion is ours to be lost.

Win and we could go into second spot but lose and other games go a certain way and I think we could drop out of the top six. It is all so tight, hope Parker's nerve is stronger than mine.
