Sideways passing gives a false impression of playing football

Scott Parker is failing to see Fulham's problem at the moment - far too many sideways passes which give the impression we have control of the game when in fact we are merely wasting time and allowing teams to regroup.

It was pointed out on Sky Fulham's lack of counter-attacks. That is so true and it is this obsession of retaining possession simply for the sake of it. To the uneducated eye, that being Scott Parker, he probably feels Fulham are in total command. But as soon as we lose the ball our opponent strives to create a goal chance.

Indeed the goal Derby scored was a result of sideays passing which led to the (harsh) penalty. And when Onomah returns he is the main culprit of this negative style, coming from the boring Pocettino Tottenham method he learned.

Parker has to get Fulham to move the ball forward and promptly and resist holding onto possession just for the sake of it. It is slowly ebbing away any chance of automatic promotion and will result in the sacking of Scott Parker if he fails to get this gifted team to the Premiership.

Something of a first in that I agree with you on this point.

We exhibit so few ideas when it comes to creating chances that I've come to think the only way, under Parker, we shall start to score the two-or-more-goals-a-game we shall need to get promoted is simply to get the ball out wide, get five-or-six bodies in-and-around the box, lump it in there and hope to score from any confusion that results.
