I think the players will be resting now anyway, won´t they?

I agree the Virus is not going away quickly , the next three months should be looked upon as a close season with provisional plans to finish the 19/20 season during August/September/October A months break and transfer window in November  and a special short season starting in December for the 20/21 season.

These plans would have to be reviewed and adjusted monthly as it is beginning to look as if this Virus could still be with us come August.

When you suggest maybe a short season, are you talking about less games (how would that work) or compressing the usual number of games into a shorter season? I agree that I can´t see any football being played for at least 3 months if not longer!

That's not a bad idea perhaps, a short season.

Each team could play the others once only, either home or away as drawn by the fixture computer. So the Championship would be 23 games. Some teams would have 12 home and 11 away matches and vice versa, just the luck of the draw.

And you you still have the play offs at the end of the season. Just a thought ...

And don't forget, we have that blasted world cup in December 2022. We could look at a revised schedule that incorporates the daft 6 weeks of no football. It could be either a shortened .. or a lengthened season.

The short season could mean playing each team just once, , sure some luck involved in who you play at home and away but every one has the same chance.

We now have reason to change the venue for that awful world cup, Antarctica would make more sense.

Not a bad idea, so we might only have 19 games to play........if we win promotion (lol)?

With my trust of all things FA I doubt the big boys will have to trust to luck.
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

I say no to shortened season. Just keep eufa and fifa dirty hands off our game.  Cancel euros and if necessary, 2022 unless they can change the format by going back to what it used to be. No mini teams, (san marino etc), fewer qualification games and midweek only internationals. etc

Just scrap it. The WC has become a bloated vanity project run by corrupt old farts. It's so far removed from real football that I no longer care about it.

Even the choice of venues is rigged!

Completely, it's all down to bribery and corruption.
