Never heard of Paul Carrack. Like it. Shows how easy it is to stay out of touch. In my youth I always had John Peel to let me know who was coming on to the scene. Hence I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd as a support act for Golden Earring in, I think, 1974.  One of the best rock bands ever... Skynyrd that is, not the second-rate band that followed.

you probably do know of Paul Carrak, you just didn't know he was the singer...
he was in Ace, "How Long" was their big/only hit
he was in Squeeze (for a short time)
he was in Mike and the Mechanics, I believe he was the singer for "Living Years"
One of the first away games of the 1975/6 season was at Oxford United's Manor ground and Ace with Paul Carrack played a few songs live before kick off. A large number of their single How Long was given away free. In those days their home end was split 50/50 for home and away fans and we completely filled our part and, as their keeper John Milkins ran towards his goal, he was bombarded by loads of flying 45s. We won 3-1 and it was one of the many great away days in the 70s.
