Fulham boss Scott Parker agrees wage deferral during shutdown while a number of matchday staff furloughed

Fulham manager Scott Parker has taken a 25 per cent wage deferral as the club look to manage the financial impact of the coronavirus shutdown.

Parker, alongside Fulham CEO Alistair Mackintosh and a number of members of senior management, agreed to take the deferral since March, while a number of matchday staff at the club have been furloughed.

While the day-to-day Fulham staff are still working from home, deferrals from those at the top mean any employees who cannot work remotely and have been furloughed are having their wages topped up to 100 per cent.

Elsewhere in London, Brentford's squad have already agreed a deferral to cap their wages at £5,000-a-week while a number of non-footballing staff have been furloughed on 100 per cent pay.

Millwall would prefer to sign up to a collective agreement for the whole Championship over cuts but are in talks with their squad and management over measures.

In the Premier League, Tottenham have furloughed around 40 per cent of their 550 non-playing staff, while those still working have had their pay cut by 20 per cent.

West Ham manager David Moyes has offered to take a 30 per cent pay cut, while the Hammers, like all Premier League clubs, look to agree individual cuts or deferrals with their playing squads.

Fulham’s Finest: Unsung Heroes

In this Fulhamish Special, we discuss our all-time favorite unsung heroes that have graced the Cottage turf.

These aren’t your ‘fan-favorites’ or your ‘cult players’, who will be remembered throughout the annuals of time. These are the less-talked about footballers that we feel still deserve to be remembered, due to their underrated talent, commitment and service to the club.

Our panel elected 2 players each, which we then narrowed down to 4. The final say will be with you guys, when we put it to a public vote later this week. Don’t agree with our list? Feel free to get in touch and let us know who you feel should be included.
