Given the proposal was unaminously rejected by all twenty PL clubs then the whole 'Big Picture' idea would appear to have been a ruse to get more serious discussion going throughout the pyramid.  Perhaps the idea of independent control of football away from member clubs will gather some much needed momentum in the future but we have been here many times before and so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Either that or Man Utd and Liverpool saw how fiercely and widely the proposal was condemned, and backed away from it, hopefully feeling suitably embarrassed for having raised it.
