Once upon a time the idea of a second kit was to solve clashes with opponents kit and good grace dictated that home fans got to see their lads play in the main kit, hence the "away kit".  We are now so far away from that practical consideration that this year Chelsea are pushing the envelope with their daring choice of away kit that's basically the same colour as their home kit.  Good grief.
