Exciting to read about our interest in signing some big named players before the new season starts and it would be encouraging to see a strengthened line up against Arsenal .

However I suspect that all of these rumoured moves will fade away and we will be left desperately trying to sign
left overs come window deadline day.

Bassey the warrior

Really hope we get Kongolo, he's quick and likes a tackle. Not seen enough to know whether he'd be a starter but he'd be better than Ream and would allow us to sell MLM.

A lot of snide remarks about us when Pique was mentioned like we are completely embarrassing, then there was Marsh Best and Moore,,get in there
.

Woolly Mammoth

Funnier things have happened in football and you can never rule anything out. When I first saw the reports I thought out of the question. But it need not be, even if it turns out to be not negotiable it shows the club has aspirations and maybe no stone is left unturned.
We are the under dogs in the Premier but we can use that as a weapon to use as a club to beat the critics over the head with, and that is a big weapon to have.
So we quietly or noisily go about our business without appearing to look like a threat, until we start taking points off the big guns, and we will and we have to, because relying on so called six pointers against Brighton & Hove Albion will not always go according to plan.
So nothing wrong with having sights set on players of the calibre of Piqué.
You get a player of his stature and sometimes another one follows providing they have the same desire and hunger that got them there in the first place. Their presence alone whether it be in the dressing room or the training ground or on the field of play can make the rest of the players feel 6 inches taller and more willing to be on their toes as not to let their peers down.
Yes it all sounds good on paper, but it is good to have aspirations of this nature providing it does not have a negative effect on team spirit and morale.
Unlike the last time we were in the English Premier League it is of paramount importance that all the players in the team and in the squad all pull in the same direction and play for their manager, the club, the fans, their teammates, and remember these are basics, that all players whether they are brilliant good and maybe not so good must take on the pitch with them, it's called good habits.
Even if a player is having a bad game he can still run around, that is the kind of mentality that separates winners from losers.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘
