Crystal Palace On Brink Of Deal For West Ham, West Brom, Fulham Transfer Target

Crystal Palace are reportedly close to landing the services of in-demand Nigeria-eligible attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze.

According to Telegraph UK, the Eagles have had a £19.5 million bid accepted to sign the Queens Park Rangers Player of the Year.

Eze has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs including West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion and Fulham, but Palace are in pole position for his services after making an offer worth £15 plus add-ons.

Crystal Palace have been tracking Eze over the last one year and their first bid of 12m pounds earlier this month was rejected by the Championship club.

The English newspaper has suggested that Palace expect the deal taking the Anglo-Nigerian to Selhurst Park to go through by Thursday.

The 22-year-old was involved in 22 goals (14 goals, 8 assists) in 46 Championship matches last season where he played in the number 10 role, left midfielder and left winger.

EXCLUSIVE: Leeds chief holds talks as Arsenal name price for Fulham target

Arsenal will sell Callum Chambers for the right price this summer and TEAMtalk understands Leeds are ready to fight Fulham for his signature.

The 25-year-old has been told by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta that he is not in his long-term plans and is free to leave.

The Gunners are looking to balance the books having signed Pablo Mari permanently. They're also on the brink of capturing Gabriel Magalhaes in a £27m deal.

As such, Arsenal have made it clear to Chambers that he can move on with a price of around £12m placed on his head. The Gunners also made it clear they would like to sell, rather than loan Chambers out. As far as Arteta is concerned, Chambers' Arsenal career is over.

Chambers still harbours England ambitions, having won three full caps back in 2014. But he knows he needs to be playing regularly and he is now set to get the chance.

We can reveal both Fulham and Leeds have both spoken Arsenal. Chambers knows Fulham well having spent 2018/19 on-loan at the club.

Leeds, however, cannot be discounted. They have a connection through sporting director Victor Orta, who signed him during his time with Middlesbrough.

Orta has held talks with Arsenal over a potential deal. Leeds are thought to have chatted about Chambers after also showing interest in his teammate Rob Holding. He too is also likely to move on this summer.

In total, Arsenal are reported to have transfer-listed up to 10 players this summer.

There is also interest in France and Germany, but it is believed Chambers would rather stay in the Premier League.

Leicester City identify two targets to replace left-back Ben Chilwell

Leicester City have identified Atalanta's Robin Gosens and Fulham's Joe Bryan as potential candidates to replace Ben Chilwell, who is on the cusp of joining Chelsea.

Chilwell is currently on the sidelines with a heel injury, but he is expected to make the switch to Chelsea after the Foxes agreed on a deal worth £50m.

The Foxes still have Christian Fuchs and Luke Thomas as the specialist left-backs, but the former is past his prime while the latter is inexperienced at the senior level.

Hence, manager Brendan Rodgers is likely to land a replacement for Chilwell and Gosens and Bryan have been mentioned as potential targets for the east Midlands outfit.

Gosens had a superb 2019/2020 season with Atalanta where he largely played in the left wing-back position. He registered 10 goals and eight assists from 43 outings.

He is currently valued at £27m by the Italian outfit, but the Foxes face stiff competition to land him amid the interest from the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan.

As a result, Bryan seems the alternate option for the Foxes. The 26-year-old starred for Fulham in the Championship play-off final by scoring a brace, but his future remains uncertain.

With the arrival of Antonee Robinson from League One side Wigan Athletic, it is reported that the Cottagers could be prepared to sanction his departure for a fee of around £15m.

The Foxes will feature in the Europa League group stage next term on the back of finishing fifth in the Premier League and Rodgers will be aware of the need for squad depth.

With nearly a month into the summer transfer window, the club have not made any signings, but the exit of Chilwell should provide them the funds to bring in new players.

Matty Cash transfer development emerges as finer details to potential Forest exit are revealed

Fulham have emerged as favourites to sign Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash, with the London side hopeful of completing a deal for the full-back.

Cash is a player in serious demand on the back of a remarkable individual campaign for Forest, in a season where he was crowned the club's Player of the Season.

The 23-year-old was converted into a right-back in pre-season following an injury to Tendayi Darikwa, and he has since established himself as one of the country's best up and coming players in that position.

After Forest's failure to secure a top-six finish and win promotion to the Premier League, plenty of top-flight sides are taking an interest in the full-back.

Sheffield United are reportedly willing to offer £4m plus two players for Cash, whilst Forest are set to hold out for around £15m for their star player.

Now, the Telegraph claim that Fulham have emerged as favourites to sign Cash, with the Cottagers hopeful of completing a deal which would see them offer £10m plus one player for the defender.

Cash signed a new long-term deal at the City Ground back in November, tying him down until the summer of 2023.

The Verdict

This would certainly be an interesting deal for Forest and for Fulham.

Cash is probably worth at least £15m, and whilst £10m may be a good offer for him, it all depends on which player Forest can get in return.

I don't really like the idea of clubs offering fringe players to other clubs as there must be a reason as to why they are out of favour, so Forest need to be careful here.

Report: Aston Villa want Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash, but Fulham lead race

Aston Villa have joined the race to sign Nottingham Forest full-back Matty Cash, but The Telegraph has suggested that Fulham are leading the battle as the Cottagers prepare to make a bid imminently.

Cash was outstanding for Forest last season. The 23-year-old scored three goals and provided five assists as Sabri Lamouchi's men came agonisingly close to reaching the play-offs.

And it appears that his form has attracted the attention of a host of Premier League sides.

The Telegraph reports that Villa, West Ham and Sheffield United all want the youngster. However, it seems that they will have work to do if they hope to land Cash.

The report claims that Fulham are preparing a £10 million bid that would also see one of Scott Parker's men move in the opposite direction.

With The Telegraph noting that Forest value Cash at £15 million, it may not be a surprise if Lamouchi's men are tempted to consider the bid. Of course, much will depend on what Forest need and who is offered by Fulham.

TBR View: Cash could be inspired signing for around £15 million

It is not difficult to see why the likes of Villa, West Ham and Fulham want Cash. Watching him last season, it would have been very easy to forget that he came through the ranks as a midfielder.

He adapted to the right-back role superbly. And he proved to be crucial to the way Lamouchi's side played throughout a campaign that threatened to have a dramatically different ending.

Fulham Take Pole In Race For Sheffield United Target Matty Cash

Fulham have emerged as favourites to sign Nottingham Forest full-back Matty Cash, who is also on the radar of West Ham, Sheffield United and Aston Villa, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The 23-year-old defender was one of the standout performers in the Championship last season and has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs this summer.

Sheffield United have already failed with a bid for Cash, claimed to be of £10m, and West Ham and Aston Villa have also expressed an interest in the full-back this summer.

But Fulham are claimed to be the ones who are leading the chase to sign the 23-year-old Cash in the ongoing transfer window.

Scott Parker has identified the full-back as one of his priority targets ahead of Fulham's return to the Premier League next season.

Nottingham Forest have set an asking price of £15m for one of the best players of last season's Championship and are keen to dig in their heels.

But Fulham are hopeful of negotiating a deal that will see them pay a smaller amount with a player moving to the City Ground as part of an agreement this summer.

The Craven Cottage outfit are keen to offer an upfront fee of £10m and offer a player to Nottingham Forest as part of the deal.

The London club are expected to put in their formal bid with Nottingham Forest for Cash in the coming days.

Premier League outfit preparing £10m plus player move for Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash - report

Forest face a fight to keep their star defender at the City Ground this summer

Fulham are preparing a player plus cash deal in a bid to tempt Nottingham Forest into selling star defender Matty Cash, reports claim.

The Reds' Player of the Year could be on the move this summer, if a club meets Forest's asking price of £15m, but Fulham, according to the Telegraph, believe they can offer a player plus £10m to get Cash to Craven Cottage.

Boss Scott Parker, who guided the Cottagers back to the Premier League during his first season as manager, has earmarked the Forest star as one of the key arrivals he wants before the transfer window closes on October 5.

Sheffield United have already seen a bid rejected by Forest, who would reluctantly sell the 23-year-old, if their asking price was met.

It was expected the Blades would return with an improved offer, plus two players for Cash, with one of those expected to be Luke Freeman, a playmaker Sabri Lamouchi was keen to sign in January.

West Ham, Aston Villa and Southampton are among the clutch of other clubs monitoring his situation at Forest, after a fine season where he was deployed at right-back by boss Lamouchi.

The Telegraph, however, say Fulham are now favourites to prize Cash away from the City Ground with a bid expected to land in Nottingham this week.

Cash is happy to stay at the City Ground and has been back in pre-season training with the rest of the Forest squad ahead of the new campaign starting on Saturday week, but would relish the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League.

REPORT: Fulham Join Race for Ollie Watkins

Fulham are the latest club to show an interest in Brentford's Ollie Watkins, according to Sky Sports. The 24-year-old finished the campaign as the second top goal-scorer in the Championship. Narrowly being edged out from the golden boot by Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Watkins is very much in demand and Fulham will compete against a number of Premier League clubs for his signature. Brentford value the 24-year-old in excess of £25 million, which will certainly throw some teams off.

Fulham Among Those Interested in Watkins
Brentford's Play-Off Final Loss Could Prove costly

With another season of Championship football in-store for Brentford, Watkins is one of a number of players gaining Premier League interest.

Full-back Rico Henry is also wanted by West Brom, who are preparing to raid their 2019/20 promotion-chasing rivals. Said Benrahma is also attracting Premier League attention, with both West Ham and Aston Villa particularly interested.

Are Fulham Looking for Mitrovic Alternative or Strike Partner?

It remains unclear whether Watkins will be brought in as an alternative to Mitrovic or whether he will partner the Serbian. It will ultimately come down to the additions Scott Parker will make and how he will set-up this campaign.

Mitrovic beat Watkins to the Championship's golden boot award by one goal last season and will be looking to continue his form in front of goal in England's top tier. The 25-year-old has also proven himself in the Premier League, with both Fulham and Newcastle United. The striker has scored 21 goals in 77 appearances in the Premier League and will be looking to improve his tally in the 2020/21 campaign.

Ollie Watkins is a different type of striker to what Fulham already have. Not only can he hold the ball up and bring others into play, he can also get in behind and chase lost causes, a trait Fulham may need against the top teams.

Report: Fulham latest club to join race for West Ham winger Grady Diangana

(Photo by Action Foto Sport/NurPhoto via Getty Images)

Fulham has become the latest club to be interested in signing West Ham United winger, Grady Diangana, according to a report from The Sun.

The report claims the Cottagers are competing with West Brom for the signature of the 22-year-old, who spent an impressive season with the Baggies in the Championship last term.

Diangana contributed eight goals and seven assists as Albion won promotion back to the Premier League. However, it is claimed that both Celtic and Ajax are also keen on the youngster.

West Ham, on the other hand, are thought to be keen on seeing how Diangana progresses with them. He impressed yesterday in a pre-season friendly win for the Hammers. Indeed, Football.London claimed this month that West Ham won't entertain any permanent offers for their man.

But Fulham seems determined to make a splash once again in the market upon their return. They are already eyeing the likes of Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash, while they signed Antonee Robinson from Wigan.

Pressure ramping up on West Ham here, no surprise to see Fulham involved – TBR View

Fulham are being linked with a number of players so it's little surprise to see their name chucked in the hat when it comes to Diangana.

Previous reports have claimed the Hammers valued their man at around £15m. That sort of fee will not put Scott Parker or his owners off, meaning the Cottagers may very much be in the race.

Furthermore, Diangana is more likely to play at Craven Cottage. Of course, he has his chance to impress in pre-season and has started well.

Ultimately, the decision may come down to David Moyes deciding if he sees value in keeping the winger around.

Report: Aston Villa in talks over £25m Ollie Watkins deal, Fulham also keen

Aston Villa are hoping to conclude a deal to bring Ollie Watkins to Villa Park, despite late interest from Premier League newcomers, Fulham.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Dean Smith is hoping to bring Watkins in after a stunning few seasons in the Championship saw him score 45 times for Brentford.

25 of those goals came last season as the Bees just came up short of promotion to the Premier League, losing out to Fulham in the playoff final.

And now, Fulham are said to be interested in landing the forward, with Sky Sports claiming Scott Parker is looking to add Watkins to an attack that already features Aleksandar Mitrovic. It is believed Brentford want at least £25m for their man.

However, Dean Smith will be hoping his time spent working with Watkins will stand him in good stead as the race hots up for one of the most in-demand strikers outside of the top-flight.

Watkins is going to be brilliant whoever he signs for, Villa would be ideal – TBR View

Villa needs a striker after last summer's big-money signing, Wesley, failed to pay off. They scraped survival by the skin of their teeth but now have the spending power available to make improvements.

They seem to be linked with new players every other week so it's no surprise to see them as frontrunners in the race to land Watkins.

Of course, Watkins appears to have all the tools to succeed. Quick, powerful, and someone who clearly knows where the back of the net is.

At £25m, he might well prove to be a bargain in the long-run, especially given he is only 24.

QPR 'might' still move for recently promoted Premier League defender

QPR 'might' still move for Fulham defender Alfie Mawson, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter (see tweet below).

The Hoops are interested in bringing him in on loan for next season. Watford are also after him, as covered by The72 yesterday.

They were hoping to use him in as part of a deal for Fulham to sign Eberechi Eze, however, their highly-rated midfielder is now set to join Crystal Palace instead.

Nevertheless, Mark Warburton's side may still try and tempt Fulham into letting him return to the Championship for the next campaign. The London side are in the hunt for a new centre-back before the new season starts and have also been linked with Oxford United's Rob Dickie.

Warburton knows Mawson from when he was manager at Brentford and the defender was a youngster at Griffin Park.

Mawson, who is 26 years old, was signed by Fulham in 2018 for a fee in the region of £15 million, as per Transfermarkt, but could leave Craven Cottage over the coming weeks despite having two years left on his contract there.

He was snapped up by Barnsley in 2015 from Brentford and impressed in his single season at Oakwell, helping them win the EFL Trophy and promotion from League One.

Swansea City lured him to the Premier League in August 2016 and he spent two years with the Welsh side. He scored seven goals in 71 games for the Swans.

Fulham came calling after the Swans' relegation and he has been at Craven Cottage since.

Chief 'managed to snatch' Newcastle and Fulham's interest – Club sure player 'will leave' this summer

Andrea Pirlo has confirmed Juventus have decided to part ways with Gonzalo Higuaín this summer.

On Tuesday, La Repubblica explained the Old Lady are looking for a new club for the striker, and Aston Villa and West Ham United have emerged as options.

Fulham and Newcastle United have joined the two other Premier League clubs in having some interest in the 32-year-old, reports Calciomercato.

They state it's now up to the Serie A side to convince the Argentine to leave, and one of the options would be to terminate his contract. However, that would cost them around €18m.

The other option is to wait until the end [most likely the end of the window] to see if there is any club willing to take the South American.

Juve want to find a club that's ready to sign Higuaín on loan and also take care of his salary. The Italian giants are hopeful the attacker would reconsider his position after making it public he will not be included in Pirlo's plans.

Juventus chief Fabio Paratici recently made a trip to London, where he 'managed to snatch' interest for Higuaín from Fulham and Newcastle. However, joining either the Cottagers or the Tyneside club 'doesn't seem to warm' the player's heart.

Report: Fulham eye move for Callum Wilson

Fulham are looking to bolster their attacking department this summer, and have earmarked Callum Wilson from Bournemouth, according to reports from Sky Sports.

The 28-year-old striker could be looking to leave the Cherries this summer following their relegation to the Championship.

A host of Premier League clubs including Everton, West Ham and Tottenham are interested in signing Wilson. It seems Fulham have joined the race for his signature as well.

He scored nine goals for Bournemouth last season and would be a very good signing for any Premier League side. The Cottagers are also keen to sign Ollie Watkins but Wilson would be a better option given he's a proven Premier League striker.

Bournemouth could lose some of their key players this summer. The Cherries have already lost Nathan Ake who joined Manchester City for a fee of £40m. Also, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been offloaded to Sheffield United.

If the reports are to be believed, Bournemouth could lose the likes of Joshua King and David Brooks as well.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Bournemouth would demand a fee in the region of £30m for the striker.

Spurs are looking to sign a back-up striker to Harry Kane, and Wilson could be a very good signing for them.

Likewise, Everton are also looking to bring in a new striker. Dominic Calvert-Lewin impressed last season, but Carlo Ancelotti needs to add depth in that area. Moise Kean is yet to justify his price tag, while Cenk Tosun is facing an uncertain future at the Merseyside club.

Report: Leicester can sign Ranieri favourite for £15m; PL rivals could cash in

Leicester City have identified Joe Bryan as the replacement for Chelsea-bound Ben Chilwell and, according to the Sun (26 August, page 50), Fulham could listen to offers of £15 million.

While Brendan Rodgers has made it clear on multiple occasions throughout the summer that Leicester's England international left-back was not for sale, it seems the reality is something very different.

Money talks, after all.

Chilwell could be a Chelsea player by the end of the week with the big-spending Blues on the verge of tying up a £50 million deal for a man who, if he can rediscover the form he showed in 2019, should represent a sizeable upgrade on Marcos Alonso and Emerson (Sky).

Maybe £50 million was simply too good to turn down for a man whose form has dipped alarmingly since the turn of the year.

Especially when a replacement can be signed on the cheap, leaving another £35 million set aside to reinforce the rest of a squad which will be stretched to its limit by a Europa League tilt next season.

Bryan might have scored the goals that secured Fulham's promotion but, a matter of weeks after that stunning brace in the play-off final triumph over Brentford, the Cottagers could be ready to cash in.

The Sun claims that a £15 million bid could be enough and, in former Wigan Athletic flyer Antonee Robinson, Scott Parker already has Bryan's successor in his ranks.

An attack-minded and adventurous full-back, Bryan produced eight assists and three goals in 2019/20, including that stunning, Gary McAllister-inspired free-kick at Wembley.

"He's training every day, very well and I am thinking about him because he's a good player and very ambitious," former Fulham boss, and Leicester legend, Claudio Ranieri told Football London.

"I believe in this guy."

Confirmed : Winger Eligible For Nigeria, England, Bulgaria Signs New Deal With

With a statement on their official website, Fulham have announced that promising winger Sylvester Jasper has committed his future to the newly promoted Premier League club.

Jasper, 18, has been rewarded with a new deal until the summer of 2023 following his senior breakthrough last season.

He made his professional debut against Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup in January 2020, before featuring in two Championship matches against Brentford and Birmingham City after lockdown.

Born in London and an England youth international, Jasper is also eligible to represent the national teams of Nigeria and Bulgaria through his father and mother respectively.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract with this great Club, especially after a great season for myself personally," said Jasper.

"And the Club winning promotion to the Premier League makes it even more special.

"My main focus now is to work hard and help the team any way I can to have a good season in the Prem."

Jasper scored nine goals and provided ten assists in the U18 Premier League South last season, helping the Cottagers win the title, and also featured in the FA Youth Cup, Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy.

Sylvester Jasper – the Fulham academy's latest star

The Motspur Park conveyor belt has a history of churning out high quality talent. Think Ryan Sessegnon, Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts in recent years. Fulham insiders have often spoken highly about a classy and intelligent winger in Sylvester Jasper and over the past year we have seen his talent really blossom.

Jasper's always been a lively presence in the Fulham youth sides and he enjoyed a stellar year with Steve Wigley's under 18s before the coronavirus lockdown brought an abrupt end to their all-conquering campaign. They were at least rewarded with the league title, if not a place in the UEFA Youth League, and Jasper was one of the team's most consistent performers. It was no surprise, after scoring nine goals and making ten more in only eighteen games, that Jasper was promoted to the under 23s. That his talent admittedly transmitted to that level, in a much more inconsistent side, speaks volumes for the winger's quality – Jasper registered two more assists in five games.

What is most exciting about his development is the partnerships he has forged with fellow members of the academy. Jasper has a brilliant understanding alongside Fabio Carvalho, who was recently named Fulham's scholar of the year in recognition of his own outstanding development. The pair have played together since breaking into the club's under 16s and it is a testament to the academy's hard work that they are both participating in first team training ahead of Fulham's forthcoming Premier League return.

Jasper's elevation to the senior squad for the FA Cup tie at Manchester City might have come as a bit of surprise, but Scott Parker clearly believes in the youngster. A young manager who is not afraid to introduce burgeoning talent, as he showed by handing Jay Stansfield a senior debut off the bench against Aston Villa in the previous round, Parker introduced Jasper as a late substitute at the Etihad in what was otherwise a pretty chastening defeat. It wasn't an isolated outing for the winger, though, with further appearances coming against Brentford and Birmingham – the latter at a time when Fulham were pushing for a late winner to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Jasper, whose outstanding year was rewarded yesterday with a richly-deserved three year contract, seems to have slotted well into the senior squad. He went on holiday with Steven Sessegnon, another recent academy graduate, and was seen celebrating promotion to the Premier League in that viral clip from Aboubakar Kamara's Instragram Live on the Wembley turf. His integration into the first team squad is a positive sign of the harmony at Motspur Park these days, with a number of youth prospects mixing with their more senior colleagues in stark contrast to the end of the Claudio Ranieri era, for example.

What's next for Fulham's latest young wonderkid? It is possible that Jasper's contract extension is the precursor to a loan move lower down the Football League pyramid, as in the case of Marek Rodak, who used that experience so impressively when he stepped into the first team in the middle of last season. You would think he would attract plenty of interest from Championship and League One sides. But Parker, a clear admirer of Jasper's talent, might prefer to nurture the winger from closer to home even if the likes of Anthony Knockaert and Ivan Cavaleiro converting their loan spells into permanent moves make nailing a first-team spot seem tricky.

There's no doubt that Jasper has an exceedingly bright future ahead of him and his comments after signing that new contract speak to his desire to keep improving and do his best to help the team. If Parker can channel that hunger and Jasper's obvious ability, then Fulham could have another real star on their hands.

'It's the right call' – Transfer details emerge regarding Fulham's pursuit of Nottingham Forest ace: The verdict

This article is part of Football League World's 'The Verdict' series, which provides personal opinions from the FLW writers regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...

Fulham are willing to offer £1om plus the choice of one player for Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash, according to the Telegraph.

Cash endured a remarkable campaign for Forest in 2019/20, in a season where he was converted into a full-back following an injury to Tendayi Darikwa.

The 23-year-old was arguably the best right-back in the division, and he was crowned Forest's Player of the Season after producing a series of impressive performances for the Reds.

Forest's failure to make the play-offs and gain promotion to the Premier League has led to plenty of interest from top-flight sides in Cash, with Sheffield United and West Ham among those being linked.

According to the Telegraph, though, Fulham have emerged as favourites to land Cash, with the newly-promoted Premier League side hopeful of completing a deal worth £10m plus a player.

Here, we discuss whether that's a good deal for the Reds or not...

Alfie Burns

That's a difficult question to answer without knowing which player is heading in the opposite direction.

Obviously Cash is a top talent and Forest will miss him if he moves on, but there's also Tendayi Darikwa still on the books at the City Ground, who is a very capable deputy should a transfer develop.

In that instance, could Forest look to lure someone to play in a different position out of Fulham?

There are some very good attack-minded players within that squad, as well as a few decent defenders.

Stefan Johansen springs to mind as someone who would offer Forest a little bit of a midfield spark, whilst Alfie Mawson would complement Forest's defensive options.

Ultimately, we are second-guessing and before a final answer is given, some more details need to emerge.

Jacob Potter

It all depends on who the player Fulham are offering is.

£10million for Cash won't be enough to tempt Nottingham Forest to sell him, so it's the right call by the Cottagers to offer a player as well.

Cash has really impressed me this season, and I think he's more than capable of making the step up to the Premier League ahead of the new league campaign.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fulham were offering someone like Alfie Mawson to Forest, as he's struggled for consistent game time in recent months, which could hint that his future lies away from Craven Cottage.

Forest will be reluctant to sell Cash this month, but their hands could be forced in the near future, as you would imagine that he'll be wanting to play his football at the highest possible level.

I think if the player being offered has a solid amount of Championship experience, then Forest should accept this deal.

Sam Rourke

This looks a pretty interesting proposition, and any deal here will simply hinge on who Fulham put forward as part of the transfer.

If it was someone like Anthony Knockaert + £10m for Matty Cash, you'd surely have to accept a deal like that, with the Belgian proving to be a  top player in the second tier.

Cash for me, is worth £15m+ so Forest should be strong in their negotiations here and demand a player they want, one that would enhance their squad as they aim for promotion.

Aston Villa could hijack Fulham transfer deal for Nottingham Forest defender

The 23-year-old is heavily linked with a move away from the City Ground.

Fulham are said to be leading the race for Nottingham Forest defender, and reported Aston Villa target, Matty Cash.

The attacking-midfielder-turned-right-back have been heavily linked with a move away from the City Ground since the start of January with AC Milan linked with his services during the winter transfer window.

His impressive early-season performances saw Forest battling at the very top of the division but interest in landing his signature has remained - even after the club fell out of the play-off places on the final day of the season.

A report by the Telegraph claims that Villa have tried to land the defender who has also been approached by West Ham this summer.

But is it Fulham who are leading the way with a £10m bid expected to be made in the coming days, the report claims.

Sheffield United are already said to have failed with a bid of similar value and, should Fulham also stumble, Villa could be poised to hijack their move for the Forest academy graduate.

The Reds are said to be holding out for a £15m bid for the former Dagenham loanee.

Cash, 23, made 42 appearances last season for Sabri Lamouchi's side and was vital in their promotion push.

Report: Fulham planning to transform Parker's attack with £25m and £20m targets

Fulham are keen to sign two of last season's most exciting Championship attackers according to reports – Brentford's Ollie Watkins and former West Bromwich Albion loanee Grady Diangana.

Two years ago, the Cottagers embarked on a £100 million-plus summer splurge that will go down in history for all the wrong reasons.

But after the likes of Jean-Michel Seri, Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa and Luciano Vietto flopped spectacularly in West London, Fulham appear to have learned from those most brutal of lessons.

After sealing their return to the Premier League, Scott Parker's side are now putting their focus on signing young, hungry, homegrown talent in the form of their lives.

Sky report that Watkins, a winger who was converted into a ruthless centre-forward and scored a career-best 26 goals in 2019/20, is on Fulham's radar.

Brentford want in excess of £25 million; a fee that would make him the Cottagers' record signing.

Diangana, valued at £20 million by parent club West Ham, will not come cheap either.

The England U21 international was perhaps the most thrilling winger in the Championship last season, producing eight goals and seven assists and bamboozling many a full-back with a perfectly executed swivel, swerve and even the odd seal dribble.

Brentford may have no choice but to sell Watkins after being consigned to anther season of second-tier football.

A deal for Diangana, however, could be much more of a challenge with West Ham boss David Moyes seeing this 22-year-old street footballer as a key part of his plans (Sun, 26 August, page 50).
