REPORT: Southampton and Fulham Agree Moves for Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina

Newly-promoted Fulham have reportedly agreed moves for a pair of Southampton midfielders in Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina, according to BBC Radio Solen't Adam Blackmore.

Reed, who spent last season on loan with Fulham in the Championship, has had an £8 million option to buy triggered by the Cottagers. Meanwhile, Lemina is set to initially move on loan with a view to a permanent move.

Personal terms are now being discussed with both players.

Southampton and Fulham Agree  Fees for Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina
Good Chance of Game Time for Reed
At 25-years-old, Reed will feel that he needs to be playing regularly – something he wasn't doing at Southampton, hence the loan to Fulham.

He played 24 times in the league last season, helping the West London side to the play-off final where they were victors over near neighbours Brentford.

Reed had often looked to be one of the next academy products to make their breakthrough at Southampton, but struggled to lock down regular playing time.

A move to Fulham will give him this chance and is a good move for the Cottagers too, who get to keep one of their strongest performers from last season for a relatively small fee.

Last Chance for Lemina?
Despite joining the club in 2017 (and to much fanfare as he arrived from Juventus), Lemina is largely a forgotten man on the south coast.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan in Turkey with Galatasaray and only made 46 appearances for the Saints in his two campaigns prior.

He is clearly a talented player, as he showed in glimpses for Southampton, and Fulham will hope to unlock that once more. As well, it is a low-risk move for them as, if the loan does not work out, he will likely return to Southampton to see if he can be shipped off permanently elsewhere.

Fulham set to complete deals to sign Reed and Lemina

Fulham are set to complete deals to sign Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina from Southampton.

Reed (pictured) impressed while on loan from the Saints last season, helping Fulham win promotion back to the Premier League.

The club are taking up an option to buy Reed, 25, for £8m, and he is set to be joined at Craven Cottage by fellow midfielder Lemina.

Gabon international Lemina, 26, has been out of favour at Southampton for some time and was on loan at Galatasaray last season.

He is expected to join Fulham on loan with a view to a permanent move.

'Can see us cashing in' – Plenty of Derby County fans react as transfer interest emerges in player

According to Football Insider, Fulham are interested in signing Derby County full-back Jayden Bogle this summer.

The Cottagers are seemingly on the hunt for a new right-back this summer, having already brought in a left-back in the form of Wigan Athletic's Antonee Robinson,

Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash has emerged as a reported transfer target for Scott Parker's side, but now, Derby County right-back Jayden Bogle has been linked with a move to Craven Cottage.

Football Insider claim that Derby have slapped a £10m price tag on Bogle's shoulders, amid reported interest from Fulham in the defender, who has another two years left on his contract at Pride Park.

Bogle has been a regular at right-back for Derby ever since being introduced to the team by Frank Lampard last season, with the youngster going from strength to strength ever since.

The 20-year-old made 40 appearances for the Rams across all competitions last season, with Phillip Cocu continuing to show faith in the youngster.

Losing a young player like Bogle who is undoubtedly a key player under Phillip Cocu would be a blow, but £10m would be a substantial amount of money to receive for just one player.

Derby County's £10m starlet attracting Fulham interest

A report from Football Insider has claimed that Premier League new boys Fulham are interested in signing Derby County starlet Jayden Bogle.

Since emerging from Derby County's youth academy, young full-back Jayden Bogle has been a fixture in the Rams' starting 11. His performances have seen him previously linked with a move away from Pride Park and now, links have emerged once again.

As per a report from Football Insider, Premier League new boys Fulham have set their sights on bringing Bogle in before embarking on their first campaign back in the top flight.

Derby are rumoured to have slapped a £10m price tag on Bogle this summer, with West Ham also said to have shown an interest in the 20-year-old.

Bogle made his breakthrough under Frank Lampard in the 2018/19 campaign and has since gone on to notch up an impressive 91 appearances for the club despite only being two seasons into his senior career. In the process, the right-back has scored three goals and provided an impressive 17 assists.

Bogle is one of multiple young stars to come through Derby County's academy in recent years. Midfielder Max Bird has made himself a first-team regular under Philip Cocu, as has Jason Knight. Youngster Louis Sibley has also made an impressive breakthrough this year.

Now, with Fulham rumoured to be showing an interest in Bogle, it will be interesting to see if Derby County are able to hold on to him, with Fulham eyeing him up.

Derby County fans, should Bogle stay at Pride Park or would you be willing to let him leave at the right price? Let us know your thoughts in the poll at the bottom of the page.

Phil Hay: Fulham target Ollie Watkins will not join Leeds United

Leeds United are close to signing Rodrigo from Valencia on a club-record transfer fee.

According to the ever-reliable Phil Hay of the Athletic, Leeds will not move for Ollie Watkins this summer following Rodrigo's capture.

The Whites are interested in signing Ryan Kent from Rangers, and it remains to be seen whether they come up with a second bid for him after their opening bid was rejected.

Hay claimed earlier this week that Watkins remains a target for Leeds, but he is only an alternative option for the Whites at the moment.

It seems the Whites have now ended their interest in signing the Brentford striker.

Boost for Fulham?

Earlier this week reports from Sky Sports claimed that Fulham have joined the race to sign Watkins from Brentford in the summer transfer window.

It was claimed that the newly-promoted Premier League side are in talks to sign the 24-year-old versatile forward.

Watkins is wanted by several Premier League sides after the Bees missed out on promotion to the Premier League, losing in the play-off final to Fulham earlier this month.

Watkins was simply outstanding for the Bees last season. He was second in the Championship scoring charts last season, having scored 26 goals for Brentford. He is valued by Brentford in excess of £25m.

Blackburn Rovers alerted to the availability of Fulham defender Steven Sessegnon

Rovers are in the market for defenders as we approach the new campaign

Blackburn Rovers are one of several Championship clubs that have assessed the possibility of signing Fulham defender Steven Sessegnon on loan.

Rovers are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements, with Tony Mowbray prioritising a new centre-back partner for Darragh Lenihan after ticking off a new first-choice goalkeeper off his shopping list following the arrival of Thomas Kaminski.

Ryan Nyambe, Amari'i Bell and Elliott Bennett are the only recognised senior full-backs available to Mowbray and with Derrick Williams - who can offer cover at left-back - subjected to interest from Swansea City, the need for another full-back as competition is clear.

Bristol Live reported on Tuesday that Bristol City were targeting a loan move for Sessegnon, who could be available on a temporary deal given that first-team opportunities are to be limited at Craven Cottage following Fulham's promotion to the Premier League.

Sessegnon, who is the brother of Tottenham's Ryan, is primarily a right-back but has operated at left-back, centre-back and even been deployed as a central midfielder under Scott Parker.

The 20-year-old, who is under contract until 2022 with the option of a further year, is third-choice right-back behind Dennis Odoi and Republic of Ireland international Cyrus Christie, and Fulham are likely to feel his long-term development will be aided by a full Championship season.

Swansea and Reading are also believed to be interested in signing Sessegnon, with the loan market proving a useful tool for the Swans so far in this transfer window following the arrivals of Morgan Gibbs-White and Freddie Woodman.

Sessegnon would prove a shrewd piece of business if Rovers were to pursue a move, and would primarily be competition for Bell at left-back. His ability to play in several other positions would satfisfy Mowbray's flexibility criteria, and Sessegnon fits the role of a pressing, attacking full-back that will supplement Rovers when moving forward.

Report: Fulham want Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga

According to The Daily Telegraph, Fulham are looking to bring Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga to Craven Cottage this summer following promotion to the English Premier League.

The Argentine's playing chances at Spurs could reduce after boss Jose Mourinho brought in Joe Hart to replace Michel Vorm, but Fulham are offering him an opportunity to become first-choice goalie.

Manager Scott Parker currently has Marek Rodak and Marcus Bettinelli as his options, but he is keen to bolster that department with a goalkeeper that has Premier League experience, and Gazzaniga brings that to the table.

The 28-year-old featured in 25 games across all competitions for Tottenham last term after Hugo Lloris picked up a long-term injury, but he could become third-choice goalie following Hart's arrival.

Fulham also have Fabri – who spent last season on loan at Mallorca – and Jordan Archer in their goalkeeping ranks, but Gazzaniga has the quality to make the starting berth his, and it will be interesting to see if he will be keen on a move.

He joined Tottenham from Southampton for £2 million in the summer of 2017 on a five-year deal, reuniting with former manager Mauricio Pochettino, but has only made 37 appearances thus far and won't be becoming first-choice anytime soon.

That chance awaits him at Fulham, though, and it will be interesting to see if he wants the move.

Fulham chasing Gazzaniga deal

Fulham are readying an approach for Tottenham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, according to a Daily Telegraph report this morning.

The Whites have been heavily linked with a move for the out-of-favour Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perrin and the pursuit of Tottenham's Argentinean back-up goalkeeper suggests that Scott Parker has made the recruitment of an experienced custodian to challenge number one Marek Rodak a clear priority as Fulham prepare for their Premier League return. Rodak, who stepped into the first team with such success midway through last season helping to solidify a previously porous defence, has amassed lower-league experience on loan but has yet to feature in the top flight, having been excelling at Rotherham during Fulham's last brief spell in the Premier League.

Gazzaniga's immediate future in north London is up in the air future following Spurs' signing of the former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on a free transfer. Hart is expected to seriously challenge Hugo Lloris for the number one jersey and Gazzaniga may prefer a move rather than being relegated to number three behind the former England international. Gazzaniga enjoyed an extended run in the Tottenham first team last term after Lloris suffered an elbow injury in a defeat by Brighton, making 25 appearances in total, and spent four seasons at Southampton before being loaned to Rayo Vallecano prior to moving to Spurs.

The 28 year-old, who has won a single senior cap for his country, first moved to England after being recommended to Gillingham following his release from Valencia. A potential deal for Gazzaniga may well spell the end of Marcus Bettinelli's decade at Craven Cottage, with the former Fulham academy graduate likely to listen to offers to move on should he be demoted below Gazzaniga in Parker's pecking order.

The Academy Cast Of 2020/21

The Club is pleased to announce a number of players from our Academy have signed scholarship agreements and made the jump from Under-16 to Under-18 level.

Under-16/17s Coach Dan Thomas tells us a little bit about the new recruits.

Xavier Benjamin

"He's been with the academy all the way through. He lives in South London and joined us at Under-9s level. Xavier is a centre-back or right-back but has also played in midfield at some stages during his progression through the Academy. He's a strong, quick, powerful defender and a good leader. He likes to wear the armband and is very vocal when out on the pitch."

Matt Dibley-Dias

"Matt came to us from Brentford when they closed their academy, so at Under-14s level. He's an attacking midfield player, very technical and has an eye for a goal. He's been really unlucky with injury having torn his ACL a couple of years ago.

"He lives in North London but joined the Coombes Boys' School programme, where he's been for the last two years. We've got high hopes for him but just want to focus on slowly getting him back to full fitness."

Imani Lanquedoc

"Imani's another South London boy who's come through the academy. He's been with us since the age of 11. He's a strong, aggressive attacking-midfield player who likes to win the ball back and is good at dribbling. He can also cover at right-back which adds versatility to his game. He's quiet but very focused and likes to score goals."

Michael Olakigbe

"He joined us at Under-14s from QPR, we paid some compensation to QPR to bring him to Fulham. Michael's a very direct right-winger who loves to dribble and take players on. He's a real hard worker with pace and is your classic winger.

"He managed to play up in the Under-18s a couple of times last season and scored a couple of goals. He's already shown he's capable of playing at this level."

Stefan Parkes

"Stefan is another player who came to us from Brentford at 14 and is based in North London. He's been called up for England and featured a lot for the Under-18s at the start of last season before picking up an injury which hampered him for a large part of the campaign. He's fully fit now.

"He's a left-back but can play centre-back and is very calm on the ball, quick and intelligent. He captained at times for the Under-16s with Xavier and so shows strong leadership qualities. He also captained England at Under-15 level. He's another good prospect."

Oliver Sanderson

"Olly joined us at Under-9 level and so has been with us throughout. He's a pacey forward and a good finisher who's scored a lot of goals in the academy. He missed quite a bit of football last season with a back injury but managed to make a couple of Under-18 appearances. He's very direct and has a great attitude."

Jaylan Wildbore

"Jaylan joined us last year from Burton Albion, again, we paid some compensation for him. He's another direct forward who also loves to run in behind. He's a typical striker in that he lives for goals. He was released from Leicester City at 12 but went on to do really well at Burton."

Fulham eye Tottenham goalkeeper

Fulham manager Scott Parker wants to raid former club Tottenham for goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, claims The Daily Telegraph.

Parker is busy assembling a squad ready for the Premier League next season and is keen to sign a new goalkeeper.

Fulham spent more than £100m on new signings the last time they were promoted to the Premier League only to be relegated at the first attempt.

The Cottagers are looking to add players with Premier League experience to their current squad this time around and have earmarked Gazzaniga as a top target.

Gazzaniga featured heavily for Tottenham last season due to Hugo Lloris' elbow injury but faces the prospect of limited-to-no playing time in 2020/21.

Tottenham signed Joe Hart on a free transfer earlier this month and Parker hopes to take advantage and prise Gazzaniga to Craven Cottage.

Despite the fact Marek Rodak finished last season as the goalkeeper in the WhoScored Team of the Season in the Championship, Fulham are willing to offer Gazzaniga the No.1 jersey.

The 28-year-old averaged 3.2 saves per 90 across his 18 Premier League appearances in 2019/20, with a solid save success rate of 72.7%.

Report: Newcastle considering move for Fulham target Callum Wilson

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are considering a move to sign Callum Wilson from AFC Bournemouth this summer.

Dwight Gayle has suffered a knee injury and the club will assess his situation ahead of determining their next move in the transfer market.

Andy Carroll is Steve Bruce's only available striker and Steve Bruce is looking to delve into the transfer market to bolster that department.

The report claims that the Magpies are considering making a move for Callum Wilson but they face competition for the 28-year-old from the likes of Fulham, West Ham and Tottenham.

Wilson scored nine goals in 39 appearances in all competitions in 2019-20, and he could be willing to leave the club following Bournemouth's relegation to the Championship.

Fulham are looking to bolster their attacking department this summer, and have earmarked Wilson from Bournemouth.

The Cottagers are also interested in signing Ollie Watkins from Brentford, but Wilson would be a superb addition for them.

Bournemouth could lose some of their key players this summer. The Cherries have already lost Nathan Ake who joined Manchester City for a fee of £40m. Also, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been offloaded to Sheffield United.

With the Newcastle takeover not likely to happen anytime soon, it remains to be seen whether Mike Ashley would be willing to allow Bruce to make a big-money signing.

Marseille's Morgan Sanson on radar of multiple Premier League clubs with Arsenal, West Ham, Wolves, Fulham and Burnley all interested in £25m midfielder

Wolves, Arsenal, Fulham and Burnley have considered £25m-rated midfielder
Marseille open to negotiating as they look to re-shape their squad this summer

Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson is attracting interest from Premier League clubs.

The 26-year-old was a long-time target for West Ham and could yet come into their thinking towards the end of the window but the French club want around £25million.

With budgets tight at most clubs that has slowed down negotiations. Wolves, Arsenal, Fulham and Burnley are among those who have considered the former France Under 21 international as they strive to improve their central midfield options.

The 26-year-old was a long-time target for West Ham and could yet come into their thinking

Marseille are open to negotiating as they look to re-shape their squad amid financial fair play concerns.

Sanson has been a key figure under Andre Villas-Boas during his tenure at Marseille with the side finishing second in the French league last season to qualify for the Champions League.

Burnley made their enquiries earlier in the window but Sanson's valuation was too steep for them and it is understood Sanson was not overly keen on the move.

Arsenal made initial soundings regarding Sanson early on in the summer as they look to sell Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi but their budget is restricted.

They have explored the possibility of exchanging players plus cash for Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey while Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara, who has interest from Liverpool, has also been discussed.

Tottenham fans respond to reported Fulham interest in Paulo Gazzaniga

Tottenham's Paulo Gazzaniga is reportedly attracting interest from Fulham – and some Spurs fans on Twitter have urged the club not to sell their goalkeeper and feel it would be a mistake.

The Telegraph reports that the 28-year-old is now on the transfer radar of Fulham, who are preparing for life back in the Premier League after winning the Championship play-off final last season.

It is understood that Fulham boss Scott Parker is prepared to make a move for the shot-stopper in an attempt to bring him across London to Craven Cottage, as he looks to add top-flight experience to his group of players.

Gazzaniga has been in English football since joining Southampton back in 2012 and he completed a switch to Spurs in 2017.

The one-time capped Argentina international has proven himself to be a strong understudy to Hugo Lloris at Spurs and he's a commanding presence in his penalty area that also has great reflexes.

Despite being a number two at Spurs, he's shown his quality on both the Premier League and Champions League stage before, which has seen Fulham circle for his signature.

With English goalkeeper Joe Hart already joining Jose Mourinho's squad this summer, it looks like there is real stiff competition in that area of the pitch for the upcoming campaign.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media are adamant that offloading Gazzaniga would be an error and hope he remains as Lloris' main understudy.

Here are some Spurs fans on the Gazzaniga speculation:

Report: West Ham, Wolves, Fulham want Morgan Sanson

According to reports from the Daily Mail, a host of Premier League clubs are looking to sign Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson this summer.

The report claims that a host of clubs including Wolves, Arsenal, West Ham, Fulham, and Burnley have considered the former France Under 21 international as they strive to improve their central midfield options.

Sanson is a long-term target for West Ham, and it seems the Hammers are keen to sign him this summer. However, he won't come cheap, as the French club are demanding a fee in the region of £25m for him.

The Hammers boss David Moyes has a limited transfer budget this summer, and he needs to offload some of his players to fund a move for new arrivals. They were keen to sign Eberechi Eze but he is on his way to join Crystal Palace.

Marseille are open to negotiating as they look to re-shape their squad amid financial fair play concerns.

Fulham are looking to bolster their midfield areas and have been looking at options like Mario Lemina and Abdoulaye Doucoure. However, Samson would be a smart signing for the Cottagers.

Wolves have loads of quality midfielders but Nuno could still be looking to bolster that area. However, it is highly unlikely that any of these Premier League clubs would be keen to pay £25m for him.

Newcastle United: Magpies to rival Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham for Juventus ace Gonzalo Higuain

Newcastle United are reportedly said to be rivalling fellow Premier League teams Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham United for Juventus ace Gonzalo Higuain, according to Calcio Mercato.

As per the outlet, Andrea Pirlo does not see the former Chelsea man in his plans for the new 2020/21 season and is thus keen to offload him in the summer transfer window.

The Italian giants are currently looking at the possibility of terminating his contract, or as an alternative trying to find a suitable buyer, with plenty of suitors in the top flight, however Higuain is not thought to be keen on moving to any of them.

Nevertheless, Steve Bruce could look to try and persuade him to move to St. James' Park given his pedigree in the beautiful game.

Higuain has scored a rather impressive 306 goals in his club career so far, playing for the likes of Real Madrid, SSC Napoli and AC Milan, with a further 31 strikes while playing for Argentina, giving him a grand total of 337 goals.

However, the 32-year old did not enjoy the best of seasons while playing under Italian coach Maurizio Sarri, as he managed to score just 11 times in 44 games in all competitions (via Transfermarkt),  giving him a strike rate of one in four.

Nevertheless, currently valued at £13.5 million on the market, the striker would still provide some experience in the North East and he has shown before that he has the goal-scoring touch.

At that kind of price, Higuain may turn out to be a bit of a gem if he makes the move to the Tyneside club.

Fulham among the ideal loan locations for Malang Sarr

Malang Sarr is a Chelsea player, with the club's official website this afternoon confirming the 21 year old has joined on a free transfer after his Nice contract expired.

It's an interesting one, given the Blues hadn't been linked with him until just a few days ago. We never seemed to be in the chase, and then we suddenly swept in and took him up as part of our summer spending spree.

It's a bit of a no brainer really, given it's a free transfer. He can be loaned out for a few seasons, and then either sold for a profit, or integrated into the first team if he really looks good.

The only question now is where to loan him. The most important factor will be playing time, and beyond that it's likely that a Premier League loan will be favoured, in order to acclimatise him to the English game.

There will be plenty of sides interested in a vastly talented player with 102 senior appearances by the age of 21. Perhaps a spell down the road at Fulham could suit him, and allow our scouts to keep a close eye on his development?

'It could be a fantastic signing' – Blackburn Rovers weigh up transfer move for PL man: The verdict

This article is part of Football League World's 'The Verdict' series, which provides personal opinions from the FLW writers regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...

Blackburn Rovers are among those keen on a potential loan move for Fulham defender Steven Sessegnon, as per Lancs Live.

The 20-year-old has mainly played a bit-part role at Craven Cottage over the last few seasons and with Fulham now back in the Premier League, starting berths will come at a premium.

Rovers are joined by several other Championship sides in the hunt to sign the promising right-back, who can also operate on the wing.

So, with this in mind, would Rovers be a good destination for Sessegnon? Would he be a useful addition for Tony Mowbray's side?

The team here at FLW take a look.....

George Harbey

This should be a no-brainer of a signing for Blackburn, and if they can land Sessegnon, it would be a real coup considering that some of their rivals are in for him.

I really like Sessegnon as a player. For such a young player, he is very versatile and he's capable of playing on either side of defence, so his versatility could be key with such a hectic schedule on the horizon in the Championship.

Blackburn definitely need to bolster their defensive options, especially in the full-back areas, as at the moment, Amari'i Bell, Elliott Bennett and Ryan Nyambe are the club's only out and out options to choose from, which isn't good enough for a side looking to challenge for promotion.

Sessegnon is out of favour at Fulham with the likes of Denis Odoi and Cyrus Christie ahead of him in the pecking order at Crystal Palace, and with Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash and Derby County's Jayden Bogle on the Cottagers' radar, his game time may become even more limited next season.

A loan exit definitely looks to be on the cards and it would be a very good signing for Blackburn. He's young, talented and plays in a position they definitely need to strengthen.

Ned Holmes

This looks like it could be a fantastic signing for Blackburn as Tony Mowbray looks to gear up his squad for another play-off push.

Blackburn had issues with injuries to their full-backs last term and signing Sessegnon on loan would really help to bolster their options.

The 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Fulham and you'd imagine he'd be keen to spend a season elsewhere to get some first-team football.

His versatility, having featured on both flanks and at centre-back for Scott Parker's side, makes him a great option for Mowbray who will no doubt be keen to strengthen his defensive line.

If they can beat the likes of Bristol City and Swansea City to the signing, I think he'd be a fantastic addition and would likely win the starting spot off Amari'i Bell.

George Dagless

I think he'd be a good signing, yeah.

Fulham have got some good players in their squad and are bound to add to it this summer window so I think Sessegnon might find it hard to get much in the way of playing time next season in the Premier League.

That said, he is a good player with plenty to offer the right side and I think Blackburn could do with adding some fresh blood and further younger players to go alongside some of the talented youngsters they have and the ones coming through.

I think it would be an excellent learning opportunity for the player at a good club, so I am all for it.

Aston Villa: Matty Cash interest returns as fans react to potential defender swoop

Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a transfer report claiming they are set to hijack Fulham's bid to sign Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash.

Arguably one of the most consistent performers in the Championship last season, Cash made himself a first team regular and key squad member for Forest under French boss Sabri Lamouchi.

Making a total of 42 appearances in the league last term, the 23-year-old's impressive performances have gained plenty of interest with West Ham United being the team most often linked with the defender.

Cash, who helped Forest to 14 clean sheets through the 2019/2020 season, also managed to net three goals and gain five assists, playing at right back.

Villa narrowly survived relegation in the last season, and it is now claimed that they are ready to hijack a bid from Fulham for the defender.

Reacting to the report which was shared by Twitter account @villareport, fans gave their opinion on a potential move for the full-back. A couple suggested it would be karma if they did pip the Cottagers, referring to the fact that Fulham stole in at the last minute to hijack the Villans' deal for left-back Joe Bryan in 2018.

Fulham reportedly looking to sign Tottenham keeper Paulo Gazzaniga

This move would leave Joe Hart as Spurs' backup for the time being.

There has been a bit of a shake-up among Tottenham's goalkeepers this summer, and more changes could be coming soon.

According to a report from the Telegraph (£), former Spurs man Scott Parker wants to sign Paulo Gazzaniga for his Fulham squad as they return to the Premier League after one year in the Championship.

Gazzaniga has filled the backup role at Tottenham since he joined the club from Southampton back in August of 2017. Other than one or two mistakes, he has performed admirably when he has been called on to deputize for Hugo Lloris.

Lloris has dealt with a few injuries over the last few years, so Gazzaniga has actually played quite a bit. Last season, the Argentinian made 25 total appearances for Spurs.

Marek Rodák was Fulham's main keeper as they finished fourth in the Championship and ultimately won the playoffs. Parker, who has already used his connections at Tottenham to bring in Josh Onomah on a permanent deal, could be wanting to upgrade on Rodák to a proven Premier League keeper like Gazzaniga.

From a Spurs point of view, this would be a risky move. Michel Vorm is no longer at the club, and Joe Hart has been very poor statistically over the last few years for a few different teams. His fall from grace at Manchester City happened quickly, and he really hasn't done anything to bounce back since then. If Lloris has another season where he misses a few games, does Jose Mourinho really want to rely on Joe Hart to be the backup?

Relying on 2014 Joe Hart is one thing, but relying on 2020 Joe Hart is another thing completely. He's 33-years-old and is clearly well past his prime. It's safe to assume Spurs' third keeper would be a youth player if this move goes through, which would leave Hart in a position to play quite a bit if Lloris is injured or lacking fitness.

There haven't been any indications that Gazzaniga wants to move away from Spurs to become a first-choice keeper somewhere. If he wants to leave for more playing time, then this would make sense, otherwise, it seems like an unnecessary risk for the Tottenham squad, especially ahead of a season that will feature even more fixture congestion than usual.
