KENNY TETE SIGNS

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Netherlands international defender Kenny Tete.

Right-back Tete has signed from Lyon for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal, with a Club option to extend by a further 12 months.

"It is a great feeling. I feel blessed to be here," the 24-year-old said to FFCtv. "I cannot wait to start my new journey and meet my new teammates.

"I heard of Fulham's interest and I was bowled over. I spoke with people around me and knew quickly I wanted to leave Lyon and join Fulham.

"The team is back in the Premeir League now and I will give 100 percent to keep us there."

Tony Khan also commented: "I'm excited to announce the permanent transfer of Kenny Tete to Fulham Football Club.

"With the addition of Kenny, we've strengthened our squad to compete in the Premier League. He's a young player with great experience, and I'm thrilled that he's joining us on a long contract.

"I'm confident that with his talent and his desire to win, he'll be a great asset for us now and in future seasons. Come on Fulham!"

Tete arrives fresh from a fantastic UEFA Champions League campaign, with Lyon making their way to the Semi-Finals having eliminated some big sides along the way.

The Dutch international should feel right at home in SW6 as he too knows how to knock Juventus out of Europe, featuring in both games as Lyon triumphed over the Old Lady across two legs.

He also helped them to dispatch Manchester City 3-1 in the Quarter-Finals, before Lyon's valiant effort was brought to an end by eventual winners Bayern Munich in the Semis.

Tete helped Lyon to a 4-1 win in their first game of the current season last Friday, which proved to be the last of his 82 appearances for the club.

Prior to his time in France, Tete was a regular for Ajax, his local side having been born in Amsterdam.

He made his debut for the senior side in the 2014/15 season, and went on to make 55 appearances for the Club, including helping them reach the 2017 Europa League Final.

Having represented the Netherlands at youth level up to Under-21, he made his full international debut a day after turning 20 and has now gone on to win 13 caps. Tete was a member of the Dutch squad for the recent Nations League matches.

Why is that funny?

I think its great to see players who want to be here as opposed to last time we had players like Schurrle who didnt...

FFC In Oz

I'm hoping he will be a solid, dependable RB for us.  Pleased it's done.

Now for a CB or 2 (Hec back up and first choice LCB) and a versatile forward/winger.

But did the coach phone him up and does he know we are a historic club?

Tabby

Fee was €3.2 million and a clause that gives Lyon 10% of any profit on a sale over €10 million. Seems reasonable to me.

The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

From the pics we can see he's been given no. 2. Does that mean he comes in as first choice RB?

Not necessarily, Dennis Odoi presumably keeps 4 and Cyrus Christie has been 22 for a while.  We didn't have a 2 last season did we? I can't remember who was our last 2.

Edit:  Silly me - how could I forget Ryan Fredericks until the 17/18 season.

Ola Aina also seems to like number 34, so I assume that is what he'd be wearing here.

Something very satisfying about our RB wearing #2, nice and old school.

He should be a cracking signing, defensively he's very good which will help us this season, as he's not a marauding right back by nature. Clearly the club think highly of him too giving him a 4 year + 1 year option deal

Five new signings , Reem, Lemina, Robinson, Areola and Tete. We can't say nothing much is happening.

Can't tell how the sale has gone down with lyon fans: they're either happy and glad he's gone as was a deadweight or theyre mocking their club for a firesale of certain players.

I think they may be genuinely happy to get him off their books.

One commented saying it's unlikely we'll resell for over 10m euros.

One of the other players they seem to be commenting as wanting off their books is bertrand traore who seems to be another player we're looking at.

Feel like mino raiola is taking TK to the cleaners and 'has his number' if true.

Video made when he was rumoured to join Wolves last year.

Can't tell much about a player from a highlights video, but looks pretty good.to me.

So we have Areola and Tete this season. Hopefully won't be making any boobs.

Traore doesn't have Raiola as his agent.

AnOldBrownie

Welcome.

So...we have 3 RBs and Odoi who can play RB.

Seems like 1 too many to me, but welcome anyway.    OR...if we're using one of our RBs in a deal to get Luis I'm good with that too.

Lots of RBs...but welcome.

Have you ever considered writing fiction
You could make a fortune?
Not picking on you specifically but this post is a good example...
Doesn't seem to matter who are rumoured or who are actually signed, someone has to do the downer!
Rarely see posts that agree and welcome rumours and/or signings on here!
