Even if Mitro was firing on all cylinders .I would still take him on a 6 month contract with the offer that if he scored or assists in so many goals and we stay up we give him a new deal .

Agree, worth thinking about. As good as Mitro has been for us, whether it is injury or confidence, he just isn't effective right now. I heard on a podcast two other good options - Divock Origi and if we were happy to pay a big fee, Toney from Brentford

If he's fully fit and good to go on 1st January it's a no brainer. He's an experienced striker at the level we're at and there will be very options for us because the January window is notoriously difficult to trade in. He'd be no more of a risk than Welbeck was for Brighton and that's turned out well for them.

If out of contract, can't we invite him to train with us now (I've been told that this happens a lot with out-of-contract players at PL clubs)?
Just read on wikipedia that he last played in March 2020 and got 7 goals in 16 matches for the Turkish side he played for.
That sounds impressive and almost makes it a no-brainer given what we need. But when he was with the car thieves I remember his game was all about pace so to me the big question would be does he still have it.
If he has the movement of Cav and the finishing like he used to, then it would surely be worth a punt. But if he's lost his pace, he'll be another passenger slowing things down on big wages.
