Watching the WHU and Brighton game, both teams have scored from corners.

I know it's not the greatest of secrets exactly, but it got me thinking about how we never score from corners. We can't have scored from any this season, and certainly very few I can recall last year. Seems to be a shortcoming for Fulham for a very long time. I know Tosin's come close a few times, with him, Anguissa and RLC we have the size to be a threat.

A few corner goals which turn a draw into a win could be difference between staying up and relegation.

To be fair tosin has been threatening of late to score from them. Our delivery was poor yesterday as pretty much all the corners went straight to the keeper.

I thought Adarabioya was becoming a threat but against Southampton we had a number of corners and all were dealt with quite easily by defenders.
The absence of Mitro isn't helping us.

Wonder if this is something that can be trained. Can't be a coincidence we never score from them whereas other clubs so often do.

Surely it's a matter of time until Tosin gets one in.

As that was an own goal I completely overlooked it, you're completely right. Perhaps it is an area we are beginning to see some improvement in, as nearly scored v Liverpool too.

we've not really been good at set pieces since Bullard left for a "bigger" club, we just don't buy players who are dead ball specialists

Not since the great Roger Brown have we a had a big threat from corners.

grandad

Our tall players do not attack the ball by running into the area as Brown, John Dempsey, Bobby Keetch, Coleman did. Hard to mark their runs & a player can jump higher from a run than jumping from a standing start.

Free kicks corners penalties,  we are completely useless

I think our ineffectiveness at set pieces is largely due to the absence of a regular taker.

So far this season from corners I remember Lookman, Cav, Cairney & Reed all having a go.

This is fundamental stuff for a team battling relegation, you need to be able to scrape wins & draws from your set piece play.
