Middlesbrough make Kamara loan move

Middlesbrough have begun discussions with Fulham over a potential loan move for forward Aboubakar Kamara, according to reports this afternoon.

Football Insider suggests that the French forward, who has made just eight league appearances this summer for the Whites, could move to the Riverside stadium for the remainder of the season. Kamara's only starts under Scott Parker this year have come in the cup competitions – he scored in the League Cup against Sheffield Wednesday and started the FA Cup fourth round exit at the hands of Burnley last month.

Neil Warnock's side are gunning for the Championship play-offs after drawing with league leaders Norwich City at the weekend and already have Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli on their books. Kamara made 25 appearances as Fulham won promotion via the Championship play-offs last season, scoring four goals and providing four further assists.

Middlesbrough interested in loan deal for Aboubakar Kamara

MIDDLESBROUGH are discussing a possible loan move for Fulham striker Aboubakar Kamara – and are also considering offering a deal to free agent Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

While Britt Assombalonga now looks like remaining on Teesside after a proposed move to Bristol City broke down, Neil Warnock would still like to freshen up his attacking options before the transfer window closes at 11pm.

Kamara has been told he can leave Craven Cottage on loan today, with Fulham involved in talks aimed at signing former Sunderland striker Josh Maja from Bordeaux.

Boro are ready to make a loan offer for Kamara, who has made just two Premier League starts for Fulham this season.

They are also interested in Mendez-Laing, with Warnock having worked with the free agent during his time as manager of Cardiff City.

Derby County have also made an approach to Mendez-Laing, but the winger is understood to prefer a move to Teesside as he would like to be reunited with Warnock.

3pm deadline day news: Another West Brom arrival, two Fulham exits and a Newcastle no-go

As the January window ambles towards it's 11pm conclusion, we can bring you news from Fulham, West Brom and Newcastle United.

Two out the door at Craven Cottage?

Fulham's forgotten men Maxime le Marchand and Jean Michel Seri are heading out of the door, three years after they arrived from Nice in a combined £30 million deal.

Seldom-seen centre-back Le Marchand is wanted on loan by Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp, as well as a Bristol City side hovering just outside of the Championship play-off places (L'Equipe).

Seri, meanwhile, has swapped West London for Wine Country.

"I know that, technically, he will not have lost anything," says Bordeaux coach Jean-Louis Gasset after the Ligue 1 outfit agreed a deal for the Ivory Coast international (France Bleu).

Jones stuck at Old Trafford

Newcastle have already been rebuffed in their attempts to sign full-back Brandon Williams from Manchester United and it seems that Phil Jones will be sticking around too.

90Min reported earlier this month that Steve Bruce was a big fan of the £16 million former England international and was hoping to strike a loan deal.

But we can now file this one in the 'not happening' department.

"Phil [Jones] has been recovering from a knee injury after an operation he had. He's working hard to be included again and hopefully he'll get his fitness back sooner rather than later," United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells Sky (1.40pm).

One in the bag for the Baggies

After snapping up Senegal international targetman Mbaye Diagne, Sam Allardyce's West Bromwich Albion are about to add another new face to their frontline.

According to The Mail, one-time Leicester City flop Ahmed Musa will arrive in England on Tuesday ahead of a medical with the Premier League strugglers.

Fulham and former employers CSKA Moscow are also keen but, as it stands, it looks like the Hawthorns will be his destination.

With Musa a free-agent, West Brom are under no pressure to complete the deal before tonight's deadline.

Everton and Fulham doing 'intense work' behind scenes for King transfer – Southampton move 'not relevant'

If there's one certainty when it comes to Joshua King now, it's that he won't be going to Southampton.

That's according to VG in Norway, who continue the story first reported in England that the Saints and Bournemouth were in talks over a swap deal involving the striker and Shane Long.

Everton and West Ham were said to still be in the mix, but the outlet now add Fulham, who are still in need of goalscoring reinforcement.

It's stated that 'intense work is going on behind the scenes in the hours before the transfer deadline at midnight', and with King only having six months left on his contract, you can see why Carlo Ancelotti and Scott Parker would be interested.

Despite this interest from Everton and Fulham, Southampton are now completely out of the race, with a transfer there now 'not relevant'.

The reason for that was 'too great a distance in the wage negotiations', suggesting the Toffees and the Cottagers could be willing to offer the player more than what Ralph Hasenhüttl's lot were.

Either way, King might have to jump on a plane sooner rather than later if things start unravelling in the right direction.

Everton enquire about striker with Prem experience as Fulham join race

Joshua King is once again attracting Premier League interest on Deadline Day, according to reports.

King previously proved himself in the top flight with Bournemouth, but was not able to secure a move away when they were relegated last season.

With six months left on his contract, he is likely to find a new club this year. That could even happen on Deadline Day if a club agrees to pay Bournemouth.

According to The Athletic, Southampton were in talks with Bournemouth over a potential swap deal that would have seen Shane Long move in the opposite direction.

However, TV2 claim there is a large distance between Southampton's offer and King's wage demands. Therefore, the move is unlikely.

He is still a target for other Premier League clubs, though. The Norwegian outlet claims that Everton and West Ham are still considering an offer.

In fact, the BBC add that Everton have made an enquiry for King. They are yet to make a formal offer for his services, though.

Everton are looking for more competition up front, despite the impressive performances of Dominic Calvert-Lewin this season. Carlo Ancelotti is obviously happy with his main man, but wants another option to support him.

King has enough Premier League experience to make the step up back to the top flight. And with so little time left on his contract, he would be available for little.

Clubs could wait until the end of the season to sign the 29-year-old as a free agent. However, by acting while the winter window is still open, they could steal a march on their rivals.

It remains to be seen if Everton will take this course of action. It appears they are among the main contenders for his signature at present, though.

Fulham also keen on King
Meanwhile, VG in Norway claim another Premier League side has joined the race – Fulham.

Finding another goalscorer would be a boost to their hopes of climbing out of the relegation zone and it seems King is on their radar.

They would be able to make a higher wage offer than Southampton did, giving them confidence in their pursuit.

However, it will be a frantic race against time for any club to get a deal done before the deadline.

Fulham eyeing last-gasp deal for Bournemouth attacker

Fulham are eyeing a last-gasp deal to sign Bournemouth attacker Josh King, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on Twitter (see tweet below).

The Cottagers could look to sharpen their attacking options by luring him to Craven Cottage before the end of the transfer window.

King, who is 29 years old, has been linked with Southampton today, as per the Daily Mirror (live transfer blog, 7:57), but could now be on his way to a fellow Premier League side.

The Norway international has made 14 appearances for Bournemouth in all competitions this season and has scored three goals.

King is out of contract at the end of the season and his long-term future with the promotion hopefuls remains to be up in the air.

King joined Bournemouth in 2015 and has chipped in with in 50 goals in all competitions over the past five years. Eyebrows were raised when he stayed with Jason Tindall's side after their relegation last season but he has stuck around for the first half of their Championship campaign.

He has previously played for the likes of Manchester United, Hull City and Blackburn Rovers but could be joining Fulham this evening.

Scott Parker's side are battling relegation in the Premier League and could throw King a top flight lifeline before the window slams shut.

Middlesbrough want Whites striker Kamara on loan

Middlesbrough want to sign striker Aboubakar Kamara on loan from Fulham.

The Whites are short of attacking options but are looking to push through a pre-deadline deal to take Josh Maja on loan from Bordeaux.

That could pave the way for Kamara to leave Craven Cottage.

He is under contract until 2024 but has started only 23 league games since being signed from Amiens in 2017.

Fulham: Dean Jones discusses interest in Joshua King

Speaking recently on a video for Touchline Talk, journalist and transfer insider Dean Jones discussed Fulham's reported interest in Joshua King.

According to a recent report by The Athletic, Fulham, along with Everton and Southampton, are showing an interest in a late move for the Bournemouth striker, though Southampton's move for the forward is thought to be stalling over his wage demands.

The £9.9 million-rated 29-year-old, whose contract expires at Bournemouth at the end of the season, has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League throughout January, however, according to Jones, speaking on a recent video for Touchline Talk, Fulham do not look likely to be the Norway international's destination, should he indeed move over what remains of the window.

He said: "From what I'm told, I don't know if he's convinced that Fulham is a good move for him at this stage. I mean, there is as much chance of Fulham being in the Championship next season as there is Bournemouth. So, is it really progressing him, in terms of where he wants to be? Southampton are being linked with him quite strongly today, I think that probably makes much more sense."

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones' comments regarding Joshua King...

Considering the fact that as well as Southampton and Everton, overseas teams – who could potentially offer King Champions League football, – are also being linked with a move for the 29-year-old, with the greatest of respect to 18th-placed Fulham, they would not appear to be the most attractive prospect of the bunch.

And, with Danny Ings recently throwing considerable doubt on his future at Southampton, perhaps the south coast side will be pushing particularly firmly to get a deal over the line this evening so that they already have a replacement for Ings, should he indeed depart the club this summer, making a move all the more difficult for Scott Parker's side.

Dijon confident of Kamara loan capture

Reports in France claim that Dijon are confident of beating Middlesbrough to the loan signing of Fulham forward Aboubakar Kamara.

Neil Warnock's side had opened talks over taking the 25 year-old to the north east for the remainder of the season earlier this afternoon, but the French side believe they have concluded a deal offering Kamara an opportunity to return to France. Téléfoot Chaine are reporting that there is no option to buy in the agreement between Dijon, who are currently second bottom of Ligue 1, and the Londoners.

Kamara has scored seventeen goals in 89 appearances since joining Fulham for £5m from Amiens in July 2017. He helped the Whites win promotion twice from the Championship, but has made just fourteen appearances this season, scoring once – in the League Cup against Sheffield Wednesday. His departure could pave the way for Scott Parker to strengthen his squad by bringing in another striker.

Fulham make late King move

Fulham have made an offer for Bournemouth striker Josh King, according to various reports this afternoon.

The Whites are desperate to bring in a striker to boost their firepower as they battle against relegation from the Premier League and are also in talks with Bordeaux over a possible return to Craven Cottage for Josh Maja. King, whose Bournemouth contract runs until the summer, has been a long-term Fulham target who has also been interesting a host of Premier League clubs.

Various reports suggest that Southampton, considered the early favourites to sign the Norwegian international today, have dropped out of the race with Fulham's major competitors likely to be Everton. The 29 year-old has scored 53 goals in 184 appearances for Bournemouth, but has made just thirteen appearances this season since refusing to sign a new deal at Dean Court.

Fulham close to Josh Maja loan

Fulham are looking increasingly likely to add a striker to their side before the transfer window shuts, as Josh Maja looks set to join Scott Parker's side on loan from Bordeaux.

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Twitter that Fulham are now 'in advanced talks' to sign the Nigerian striker in a loan deal which could include an option to buy, with the Cottagers reportedly 'confident' that a deal will be completed before the deadline.

Parker currently has just Aleksandr Mitrovic available as a natural striker in his squad, and the Serbian has struggled to perform this season, with just two top-flight goals in the top-flight since Fulham's promotion.

It is no surprise therefore that Fulham are keen to bring in attacking reinforcements ahead of this evening's deadline, as they look to avoid relegation back to the Championship.

Maja established himself with Sunderland after progressing through the academy at the North East club and would go on to make 49 appearances for the Stadium of Light outfit, contributing 17 goals and two assists.

This led to him joining Bordeaux in January 2019 and in the two years since, he has managed 48 appearances, scoring 11 goals and contributing three assists.

However, the 22-year-old has struggled for form this season with the Ligue 1 side, with just two goals in 17 top-flight appearances, resulting in a less than impressive 6.46 rating.

He showed some signs of promise by scoring six goals for the French side last season despite starting just six games, so if he could rediscover his goalscoring touch in Parker's side and help to keep them up, he would surely prove to be well worth the fee of bringing him in on loan from Bordeaux before this evening's deadline.

Therefore, Tony Khan should ensure that the deal gets over the line, as it could be a big boost to Parker's squad.

Premier League club close-in on Rangers target, striker

Premier League Fulham are said to be on the verge of sealing a loan move for Bordeaux striker, Josh Maja.

The 22-year old London-born striker has two Ligue 1 goals from 17 appearances so far this season, but has not lived up to expectations in his second season in France.

The reported Rangers target from last Summer is now set for a move to the Premier League as Scott Parker seeks more firepower to send his side clear of the relegation danger-zone.

The player is still likely to be monitored by sporting director Ross Wilson and the Ibrox scouts, but the suggested structure of the Fulham deal will make any prospective switch to Glasgow prohibitive, if Maja shines in west London.

The Craven Cottage club are said to want a purchase agreement clause as part of the loan.

If Fulham survive the drop or are able to make the move permanent from the Championship, they can, or if he impresses enough in the Premier League, another club will likely be waiting to snap him up.

All of this realistically reduces Rangers likelihood of pursuing a deal for the player at the end of the season, if he is still high on the wishlist.

Fulham in 'advanced negotiations' for signing – Loan with option to buy on table

Fulham are in 'advanced negotiations' with Bordeaux to sign striker Josh Maja before tonight's deadline.

That's according to L'Equipe, who say the Cottagers are hoping to seal a loan deal with an option to buy for the former Sunderland man.

They explain that the two clubs are locked in negotiations to bring Maja back to England before tonight's 11pm deadline, two years after his move to France.

Fulham had tried to include midfielder Jean-Michael Seri as part of the negotiations, with him having been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 club, but Bordeaux asked that the two deals be separated.

That has now seemingly happened, and they are locked in negotiations with Fulham to send Maja to Craven Cottage on loan until the end of the season.

It is likely that the striker would arrive as a replacement for Aboubakar Kamara, who, according to reports in France, is on his way to Dijon.
