Bobby: Got To Be Ruthless

We caught up with Bobby De Cordova-Reid to discuss an afternoon of mixed emotions at The Hawthorns, before turning our attentions to a vital clash with Leicester City at Craven Cottage.

What was your take on how Saturday went?

To not get the three points, we're all devastated after doing so well in the first half. If we take our chances then it's game over. And in the second half, if we don't concede in the first 10-15 minutes, I think we probably get a second goal and see the game out. But it wasn't to be, we went 2-1 down, the lads fought back to get a draw and we've got to take a point out of it and move on to Wednesday.

Is that the most disappointing thing, that we knew there'd be a response from West Brom second half but couldn't quite stand up to it as well as we'd have liked?

The Gaffer did say, 'Look, they're going to come out firing and you've got to match it, and if you weather the storm for 10-15 minutes we'll be okay." It wasn't to be, the first two minutes we conceded. It was a bit unfortunate the way the goal went in, but at the same time we've got to be ready for it. We weren't, and we got punished, so we've got to learn from mistakes like that.

The result could have been worse, but we at least showed character to fight back?

That's what the lads have got in this group, we've got character and a never say die attitude. If we carry that on for the rest of the season then hopefully we'll be okay.

Another goal for you, which makes this the second best scoring season of your career?

Yeah I think so. I feel like I still can add more goals. It was unlucky for me, I should have got two in the game. I'm disappointed with the one that came off the post, I probably hit the ball too clean but I'll keep working on it and hopefully there's more goals to come.

It's positive that we're creating those chances, though?

Definitely, but at the same time, you've got to be ruthless. We're in a position where you can't be missing too many chances.

How was it playing off Aleksandar Mitrović again?

It's nice, he's always got that awareness to find me, and I always know that he takes defenders away because he's the one they're worried about, so I can kind of creep in and come off the shoulder.

Leicester on Wednesday – we've beaten them once this season already, but they're a good side.

They're a good team. They've got a few injuries which might work in our favour. We've beaten them once this season and we can do it again. If we go into the game with a good attitude and willingness to work hard, play our attacking football, then we'll be fine.

Do we take confidence from having already beaten them?

100 per cent. If we did it once, we can do it again. They've just come off a bad result as well. We go into the game knowing that we need a win and that if we perform well, then why not?

Joachim Andersen: A true transfer success story
Charles says our Danish centre-back stands out as proof that signing late isn't always a bad thing.

If there's one thing the Fulham fanbase can't seem to agree on its transfers.

For some, Tony Khan pulled off three of the bargains of the summer when signing Antonee Robinson, Tosin Adarabioyo and Kenny Tete for a cumulative total of £10m, while others believe that our Director of Football left us in the lurch by leaving it too late and seemingly failing to recruit a striker.

The reality of the situation is probably somewhere in the middle, but one thing we can't deny is that our recruitment team got it spot on with the signing of Joachim Andersen.

The catalyst of our transformation
There's no question that this Fulham team is a different side to the one we saw at the start of the season, and while our points tally isn't anywhere near where we'd want it to be, our ability to keep the ball out of the net has to be commended.

Fulham's defence has been transformed in recent months, and while Scott Parker, Tosin and Alphonse Areola deserve massive credit for that, Joachim Andersen has to be considered the biggest catalyst for this transformation. Ans as much as he's been brilliant on the pitch, his performances are also a testament to the club getting it right behind the scenes.

It took the Dane just one game to help Fulham to their first league clean sheet of the season, and in his fourth appearance he was already wearing the captain's armband, a role that he doesn't look like relinquishing anytime soon, with Tom Cairney out of action for the foreseeable future, and Andersen taking the armband over Aleksandar Mitrovic on Saturday.

However, it very nearly didn't turn out this way.

Summer scramble
It was blindingly obvious that we needed a centre-back this summer.

A defensive pairing of Tim Ream and Michael Hector shipped 10 goals in our opening three games, and after a thrashing by Aston Villa, our Director of Football promised us a new players in a now infamous tweet, and regardless of what you think of him, it has to be said that he delivered on that promise.

We all know now that Andersen was eventually the answer to our prayers, but it's easy to forget that our recruitment drive almost went in a very different direction.

The likes of Marlon Santos, Jean-Clair Todibo and Timo Baumgartl were targeted, and if it weren't for a failed medical, a better bid from Benfica and a late U-turn, they would have signed.

Luckily for Fulham, Andersen was the man who came through the door, and we're so lucky that he did.

Best of the bunch
So, what of our three missed targets? How are they getting on?

Marlon has started just six Serie A games in Sassuolo side that have conceded 27 league goals this term.

Todibo is faring even worse at Benfica, he hasn't played a minute all season in the league for Benfica and there were reports in Portugal claiming that the Lisbon outfit were going to send him back to Barcelona this month after Jorge Jesus had complained about his physical and tactical shortcomings.

For Baumgartl it's a similar story to Marlon, he's played just 377 Eredivisie minutes for PSV this term, seemingly unable to impress his manager.

It's fair to say that Andersen has turned out to be the best of the bunch, he's transformed our defence and he regularly captains the side.

A lesson to be learned
Here we are, the final day of the transfer window has come around again, and as you could probably have guessed, by now we're all getting a bit antsy about our lack of movement.

Indeed, despite Scott Parker repeatedly saying he would like a striker, we haven't yet got our man, despite reportedly making attempts to bring in the likes of Mbala Nzola, Boulaye Dia and Josh Maja (the latter looks like it's close).

It looks like it could be another deadline day job for Tony Khan and his recruitment team, but as we showed in the summer, that's not always a bad thing.

Imagine if we had pulled the trigger early and signed one of Marlon, Todibo or Baumgartl earlier in the window, we may never have landed Andersen, and it's frightening to think where we'd be if we hadn't signed the giant Scandanavian, even if we're not currently in the best of positions.

Players like Andersen aren't usually available early in the window. After all, this is a man who was Lyon's record signing 12 months ago, but our patience allowed us to pull off a last-minute deal for a defender that may well hold the key to keeping us up.

Right now, nobody knows what the final hours of the transfer window will bring, and while Scott Parker's comments after West Brom didn't fill any of us with confidence, there is reason to believe that waiting until the last minute could see us land a player who can transform our fortunes at the other end of the pitch in the same way Andersen improved our defence upon his arrival.

Leicester City receive Wesley Fofana injury blow as they face Fulham without six players

The latest on the injury front, as Wesley Fofana and Timothy Castagne join the likes of Jamie Vardy and Wilfred Ndidi in the treatment room ahead of the trip to the capital

Leicester City are set to head to Fulham without six senior players as the fixture pile-up catches up with their squad.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that two new names are now receiving treatment over injuries with Wesley Fofana and Timothy Castagne sustaining hamstring problems in the defeat to Leeds.

Castagne was substituted in the first half of the loss, Ricardo Pereira taking his place. Fofana, meanwhile, was substituted for in the second period for tactical reasons as City pushed for a comeback, but Rodgers said he has since complained of a hamstring issue.

Both players will be assessed but could join Jamie Vardy, Wilfred Ndidi, Dennis Praet, and Wes Morgan on the sidelines, leaving the club short of senior players as they prepare to head to the capital on Wednesday evening.

While not quite as bad as the injury crisis City had in the autumn – Rodgers has Ricardo and Caglar Soyuncu he can call upon to fill in for Castagne and Fofana – it is a blow for the club.

Rodgers says he has to accept that it is just a part of this unique campaign.

"We picked up a few injuries (against Leeds), one with Tim," Rodgers said at his press conference on Monday. "He felt it in the warm-up and tried to give it a go in the game but it wasn't quite right. We'll wait to see what the scan says but we think he'll be out for a small period of time.

"Wesley Fofana we'll assess, he came off for a tactical reason but he felt something in his hamstring as well, so we'll see where that is over the next 24 hours.

"It's just the nature of it this season, if you look through all of the squads, how compact the games are, the intensity of the games, it's very difficult for the players.

"I think the players have been amazing in terms of the level of performances they have been giving, considering the intensity of the games and how close they are together. It's just something we're going to have to cope with this season.

With Fofana out, City are down to Soyuncu, Jonny Evans and Daniel Amartey as their centre-back options, with Morgan unavailable after he was given time to overcome a long-standing back issue.

Rodgers said on the club captain: "He's had ongoing issues with his back for a number of years now, so we decided 10 days ago to take him out of training and availability for games for four weeks to let that settle down.

"He's working well and recovering well with the medical team. That's the reason he's not been involved.

"With Jonny and Cags available, I have two top-class centre-halves, so I can't complain."

There is good news over Vardy and Ndidi though, who could make their comebacks within the next fortnight.

Vardy has been on the treadmill as he recovers from a hernia operation, and may be pushing for a run-out against Wolves at the weekend. Ndidi, out with a hamstring tear, could return shortly after.

They won't be available at Craven Cottage though, and with Praet out until April, that means there are half a dozen injured players.

That's not ideal for the first game of eight in 26 days, with Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League action to come this month.

Still, Rodgers would prefer the games come thick and fast.

He said: "We're hopeful with Jamie looking towards the weekend, he won't be too far away, which will be great news for us. Wilf won't be too much longer after that.

"And we want the games. Playing in Europe has been brilliant for us, and with the FA Cup, it means we're succeeding, which is great. I would rather have that than playing once a week.

"We'll cope with it and the players are looking forward to it. Myself and the coaches are looking forward to the challenge of it. We know it's going to be tough physically and mentally, but that's the test you want every day. We'll relish it."

The Lowdown: Scott Parker's Fulham
Fulham welcome Leicester City to Craven Cottage on Wednesday as an engrossing Premier League season reaches matchday 22.

While the Cottagers remain in the top-flight's relegation zone, Scott Parker's men in fact sealed a victory at King Power Stadium earlier this term, and have steadily been improving.

Ahead of the encounter in west London, which kicks off at 6pm GMT, LCFC.com takes a closer look at the home side's manager, squad, form and more...

The manager
Scott Parker succeeded former City boss Claudio Ranieri in February 2019 as Fulham manager, and while the London outfit were relegated from the Premier League, it took Parker just one season to regain their top-flight status.

Fulham's 2-1 success against Brentford in the Championship Play-Off Final sealed an instant return to the Premier League, with the triumph coming courtesy of a brace from full-back Joe Bryan.

The Wembley tie went to extra-time after a goalless 90 minutes, but with 105 minutes on the clock, Bryan bent a fine free-kick into the bottom corner before adding a second with three minutes to play to earn a win in the capital.

Parker, 40, had a playing career that spanned two decades, starting at Charlton Athletic before spells at Chelsea, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and, finally, Fulham, where he retired.

He was capped 18 times at senior level for England, while he has also represented his nation's Under-16s, Under-18s and Under-21s sides on a combined 18 occasions also.

The squad
Fulham moved to strengthen their defensive ranks following promotion from the Championship by bringing in centre halves Tosin Adarabioyo (from Manchester City) and Terence Kongolo (from Huddersfield Town).

The arrival of full-backs Antonee Robinson and Kenny Tete further improved Parker's back-line options.

He bolstered the midfield by making Harrison Reed's loan move from Southampton a permanent one, while a host of loanees also signed for the club.

Joining Reed in midfield is his former Southampton team-mate Mario Lemina, as well as Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Red Bull Leipzig winger Ademola Lookman.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has emerged has Fulham's new No.1 following his temporary move to the Cottagers, alongside defenders Ola Aina and Joachim Andersen.

Ex-City midfielder Anthony Knockaert, meanwhile, has joined Nottingham Forest on loan, along with Cyrus Christie, while Alfie Mawson and Steven Sessegnon will spend the season with Bristol City.

A key, existing member of their current squad, Aleksandar Mitrović, scored 26 goals in the Championship to fire his side to fourth place, and eventually the Premier League.

Forward Bobby Decordova-Reid is the team's top scorer so far this season with seven goals, while Mitrović, Lookman and Ivan Cavaleiro have three to their name.

Form guide
While the west London outfit have only secured one victory in all competitions in 2021 so far, Scott Parker's men have delivered several encouraging performances since the turn of the New Year.

Last time out, Fulham secured a 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns, with Bobby Decordova-Reid and Ivan Cavaleiro finding the net in the Black Country.

That result was preceded by a goalless stalemate with Brighton & Hove Albion at AMEX Stadium, which followed a 3-0 defeat by Burnley in the Emirates FA Cup at Craven Cottage.

While beaten by both Chelsea (1-0) and Manchester United (2-1) at home in January, Parker will have been enthused by the nature of his side's performances in both clashes.

The year began, meanwhile, with a 2-0 success at Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup, with Decordova-Reid and Neeskens Kebano on the scoresheet.

That result came before a commendable 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur, courtesy of Cavaleiro's late equaliser in north London.

Previous encounters
First-half efforts from Ademola Lookman and Ivan Cavaleiro, from the penalty spot, helped Fulham secure a 2-1 victory over Leicester City at King Power Stadium in November.

That defeat ended a three-game unbeaten run for the Foxes against Fulham, which started with a 4-3 League Cup triumph on Filbert Way in October 2013.

However, it is the west London outfit who hold the advantage in the all-time head-to-head record, winning 40 of their meetings with City, who have tasted success on 28 occasions.

The trophy cabinet
One of Fulham's most memorable runs to a cup final saw them draw with AS Roma in the group stages of the newly-formed 2009/10 UEFA Europa League, before they beat 2009 winners Shakhtar Donetsk in the Round of 32 over two legs.

They then remarkably dismissed Italian giants Juventus over two legs in the Round of 16, producing a phenomenal comeback to win 4-1 at Craven Cottage in the second match against a side that included Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet.

After a quarter-final success against VfL Wolfsburg and a win against Hamburger SV in the last-four, they were eventually beaten by Atlético Madrid in extra-time in Hamburg following a brace from Diego Forlán.

Atléti's side on the day included David de Gea, Raúl García and Sergio Agüero, while future Foxes Mark Schwarzer and Paul Konchesky played for Roy Hodgson's side.

Meanwhile, Fulham have won two second tier and third tier titles, the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2002 and were runners-up in the 1975 FA Cup Final, where they lost out to West Ham at Wembley in front of an attendance of 100,000 people.

The stadium
They play their home games at the characterful Craven Cottage, which has been Fulham's home since 1896. The ground's record attendance of 49,335 came in October 1938 for a fixture against Millwall.

On the banks of the River Thames, it is one of the most scenic and traditional grounds in the Premier League, previously hosting rugby league side Fulham RLFC and several international fixtures involving the USA, Australia, Canada and the Republic of Ireland.

The stadium is currently being expanded to hold 30,000 fans, adding 5,000 more seats than the previous capacity. This is through the development of the 'main' Riverside Stand.

Upcoming fixtures
ulham contest five fixtures in February, starting against the Foxes on Wednesday, before they host West Ham United at Craven Cottage on Saturday (5:30pm kick-off).

Then, it's a trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on 14 February (7pm kick-off) and a home clash with Sheffield United on 20 February (8pm kick-off).

Their month ends with a short journey across the capital to Selhurst Park to tackle Crystal Palace on 28 February (12pm kick-off).

All times GMT.

Premier League predictions: Lawro v Foo Fighters guitarist and Arsenal fan Chris Shiflett

The January transfer window shuts on Monday - so will any of the last-minute deals change the direction of the title race?

"The big moves haven't happened this month," said BBC football expert and former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson. "I know Liverpool want some new defenders, but they just need cover, really.

"In any case, the most important thing for the Reds is that they have started firing in attack again. They have got some of their old swagger back, and Mohamed Salah's second goal in their win at West Ham was sensational."

This transfer deadline day, Lawro is supporting Cancer Deadline Day, a new campaign for 2021 where fans can donate to eight selected cancer charities on behalf of their favourite club.

More than 50 football clubs from the Premier League, Women's Super League, Scottish Premier League, English Football League and non-league have signed up in support of the campaign and other celebrity supporters include Alan Shearer, Michael Owen and Jeff Stelling.

Lawro is making predictions for all 380 Premier League matches this season, against a variety of guests.

For this week's Premier League fixtures, being played from Tuesday to Thursday, he is up against Foo Fighters guitarist and Arsenal fan Chris Shiflett.

Foo Fighters' 10th studio album, Medicine At Midnight, is out this week. Their latest preview track, Waiting On A War, is out now and they hope to hit the road again later this year.

"A bit like not having fans at games, the weirdest element of putting out an album at this time is not having shows to bounce the songs off the people," Shiflett told BBC Sport.

"That's always the most important element of a new record. I don't know when it will be, but whenever we can go on tour, we will be ready to go."

This is the second time Chris has taken on Lawro - the last time was when their previous album, Concrete And Gold', was released in 2017, when he got 7/10 results correct and managed three exact scores. to finish top of that entire season's guest leaderboard with 160 points.

"The funny thing about that was I really did my research. I got with Dave Grohl's old guitar tech Ally Christie, who is from Glasgow and a football nut.

"We went through all the fixtures and worked out the predictions... and then when I went to do it, I had picked the wrong set of games.

"So I was completely winging it. I thought some of my scores were pretty ridiculous, so it is nice to know they actually worked out OK. I am going to be more conservative with my scores this time, though."

Chris is excited by the young players who have broken through at Arsenal in recent months and is convinced manager Mikel Arteta is the right man to bring success back to the club.

"Last season ended on a real high, so myself and Arsenal supporters everywhere were kind of expecting this season to build on that," he explained. "Obviously we had a rough patch before Christmas, but it seems like we have found our feet and we are on a good run of form.

"It is great to see all the kids doing so well - that has kind of been the story of the season for us, with young players like Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka in the team and turning things around.

"Arteta deserves the credit for that. With each successive transfer window, you can see him tightening things up, but he is still giving the kids a chance, and overall he is building to something better and better. You can see what he is trying to do with the team and when it works it is fantastic."

Fulham v Leicester (18:00 GMT)

Leicester lost to Leeds on Sunday but it was a really good game. The breakaway third goal was the clincher for Leeds but the Foxes created a load of chances, and it was really close.

Fulham will look back at their draw with West Brom and think they should have made the three points safe early on, but working out why they didn't win after playing quite well is nothing new for them.

The Cottagers' last league win came 10 games ago, against Leicester, but I don't think they will be able to handle the Foxes' attack this time.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Chris' prediction: Fulham are another team having a pretty terrible season. 0-2

Everton And Fulham Have Verbal Agreements In Place For Josh King

Bournemouth have verbal agreements in place with both Everton and Fulham for striker Josh King, according to Sky Sports News.

King is out of contract at Dean Court in the summer and the current window represents Bournemouth's last chance to earn a fee from his departure.

The Norway striker is a man in demand with both Fulham and Everton chasing his services ahead of the closure of the window.

Both clubs have verbal agreements in place with Bournemouth and it is claimed that both deals are structured differently, something which explains late complications.

The clock is ticking down on the transfer window as Fulham and Everton work to push a deal over the line.

Southampton tried to sign King earlier in the day, but the striker's wage demands scuppered the deal.

If King waits until the summer then he will be able to move as a free agent and is sure to have a host of options on his table.

King has made 14 appearances for Bournemouth so far this season, scoring three goals in the process.

Fulham's King bid accepted

Fulham have had an offer for Bournemouth striker Josh King accepted, according to widespread reports this evening.

This means that the Norwegian international forward will have a choice between Everton, who moved to sign the 29 year-old after the departure of Cenk Tosun from Goodison Park, and the Whites as he contemplates a deadline day move away from Dean Court. King, who came through as a trainee at Manchester United, has scored 53 goals in 184 appearances for Bournemouth.

It is understood that Fulham's offer includes a relegation release clause but does not include a move in the opposite direction for left back Joe Bryan.

Fulham could sign Josh King

Fulham may well be reportedly close to signing Josh Maja on loan from Bordeaux but he might not be the only striker arriving at Craven Cottage before the transfer window shuts, as the Cottagers are reportedly eyeing a move for Bournemouth's Josh King.

According to the Evening Standard Fulham are lining up a swoop for the former Manchester United striker, who has been attempting to force a move away from Bournemouth for some time.

The 29-year-old has been poor since Bournemouth's relegation to the Championship, with no goals or assists in the second tier this season, but has shown his quality in the Premier League in the past.

The striker has managed 48 goals and 15 assists in 161 appearances in the Premier League, whilst he has 53 goals for current club Bournemouth, so he could add a real goalscoring threat in Scott Parker's side should he join.

The Craven Cottage outfit are low on strikers in their squad, with just Aleksandr Mitrovic a natural in that position, and unfortunately, the Serbian has not been able to continue his form from the Championship in the Premier League so far this season.

Parker's side have been guilty of too many draws this season in games that they perhaps could've won had they put away their chances, with the recent draw against West Brom a prime example, which suggests that they do need more attacking options in their squad.

Unfortunately for Fulham, they are not the only side looking at signing the Cherries striker, with Everton having also been touted with an interest in the Norwegian on deadline day, and both sides have now reportedly agreed terms with the forward.

Therefore, signing a Premier League-proven striker such as King could well be the difference between relegation and staying up for Fulham this season, so Tony Khan should do everything he can to see of Premier League competition and bring the striker to Craven Cottage in a last-gasp deal before the deadline.

Everton pip Fulham to Josh King after both agreed deals with Bournemouth

Bournemouth striker Josh King looks to have chosen to join Everton over Fulham as the Premier League sides battled for his signature on transfer deadline day

Everton look to have beaten Fulham to the signing of Bournemouth's Josh King.

According to reports, the Norway international had the choice between the two Premier League clubs following his relegation last season.

The 29-year-old, who was set to be a free agent in the summer, has decided to Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the Toffees rather than be the main man in trying to save Fulham from relegation.

Having scored 48 goals across 161 top flight appearances for the Cherries, he has only managed three goals across all competitions across 13 outings so far this season.

Sky Sports News have reported that both Everton have won the race after they and Fulham verbally agreed on terms with Bournemouth.

Jason Tindall said of the striker earlier this month following a win over Oldham: "He came off the pitch with two good goals and 90 minutes behind him. It was a really good afternoon for Josh King.

"I hope he'll stay here. I've always said that until someone tells me otherwise I am happy to have Josh King available for the football club and team.

"When Kingy showed what he was capable of in the second half it was a positive sign moving forward."

Fulham look set to seal a deal to sign Josh Maja on loan, Everton have waved goodbye to Cenk Tosun on a loan deal with Besiktas earlier in the day.

Scott Parker said of his transfer hopes earlier in the week: "I don't think so. I'm being told that won't be the case.

"The team have worked very hard and we'll continue to do that. We'll keep pushing."

Middlesbrough in last-gasp loan bid for Kebano

Middlesbrough are trying to sign Fulham winger Neeskens Kebano on loan before the end of the transfer window, according to Football Insider.

Neil Warnock's side had tried to take Aboubakar Kamara on loan earlier this afternoon but the French forward has reportedly turned Middlesbrough down in favour of a move back to France with Dijion. Boro have now moved on to Congolese winger Kebano, who had been linked with a loan away from Craven Cottage earlier this week.

Kebano has made just a single league appearance all season – he started the opening day defeat at the hands of Arsenal – and he is unlikely to get any further regular first-team football at Fulham after Scott Parker's side were knocked out of the FA Cup at the fourth round stage by Burnley last month. The 28 year-old winger, who helped the Whites reach the top flight with five goals in as many games that carried them to the Championship play-off final, has slipped down the pecking order following the arrivals of Ademola Lookman and Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan.

The Congolese international has scored fifteen goals in 99 appearances for Fulham since signing from Genk for £3.5m in August 2016. Kebano will be keen to find more regular football as DR Congo are battling to reach the delayed Africa Cup of Nations finals, which are scheduled to held this summer. He could join Marcus Bettinelli, who has helped Middlesbrough move to within two points of the Championship play-offs, at the Riverside Stadium if a deal is finalised before the 11pm deadline.

Everton Set To Lose Out To Fulham In Josh King Pursuit

Fulham are set to edge Everton out in the chase to sign Bournemouth striker Josh King, according to the Daily Telegraph.

King's future has been subject to much speculation on deadline day with the day starting with Southampton trying to sign him on a swap deal involving Shane Long.

The Saints baulked at the wage demands by the 29-year-old striker and finally, the race settled down to two clubs – Everton and Fulham.

The two clubs worked out verbal deals with Bournemouth this evening and set about presenting their case to the Norwegian for a move in the final hours of the window.

Everton, being in the top half of the Premier League table, seemingly looked like the favourites to land King, but it seems they are unlikely to sign him.

Fulham are set to beat Everton to the signature of King and take him to Craven Cottage on the final day of the transfer window.

The forward will undergo a rapid medical with Fulham as they look to race against time to get the deal over the line in time, ahead of the window closing at 11pm tonight.

He is expected to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with Fulham, which could contain a relegation release clause as well.

On the other hand, Everton are set to face disappointment in their attempt to bring in a forward on deadline day.

Kamara seals Dijon loan switch

Aboubakar Kamara has joined Dijon on loan for the remainder of the season, Fulham have confirmed this evening.

The 25 year-old forward reportedly turned down the chance to move to Middlesbrough and preferred to return to France with Dijon, who are currently second from bottom in Ligue 1. Kamara has made eleven appearances for Fulham this season – scoring once against Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup – but his only starts have come in the cup competitions. His opportunities have been limited since Ademola Lookman and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have stepped into the first team after arriving on loan.

The former Amiens forward, who moved to Craven Cottage for around £5m in summer 2017, was part of the Fulham sides who won promotion from the Championship in 2018 and 2020. Kamara has scored seventeen goals in 89 appearances during his Fulham career.

Kamara and Le Marchand leave Fulham on loan

Fulham striker Aboubakar Kamara has joined French side Dijon on loan for the rest of the season.

The Whites are short of attacking options but are looking to push through a pre-deadline deal to take Josh Maja on loan from Bordeaux.

Kamara is under contract until 2024 but has started only 23 league games since being signed from Amiens in 2017.

Middlesbrough were also interested in him but he opted for a return to France.

Meanwhile, out-of-favour Fulham defender Maxime Le Marchand has joined Royal Antwerp on loan for the rest of the season.

Middlesbrough agree loan deal for Fulham midfielder Neeskens Kebano

MIDDLESBROUGH have agreed a loan deal for Fulham midfielder Neeskens Kebano - and are confident of being able to complete the formalities of the transfer ahead of tonight's deadline.

With a deal having also been agreed for free agent Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Kebano's arrival completes an extremely successful deadline-day for the Teessiders.

A 28-year-old central midfielder, who is a full international with DR Congo, Kebano began his career with Paris St Germain before also spending time with Charleroi and Genk.

He joined Fulham in the summer of 2016 and has made 99 senior appearances for the Cottagers.

He was an influential performer under Scott Parker last season, scoring in both legs of Fulham's play-off semi-final win over Cardiff.

However, he has struggled for game time this season, making just five Premier League appearances.

He was given the green light to join Boro on loan earlier today, and becomes Neil Warnock's fourth signing of the transfer window following Yannick Bolasie, Darnell Fisher and Mendez-Laing.

Le Marchand moves to Royal Antwerp on loan

Fulham defender Maxime Le Marchand has joined Royal Antwerp until the end of the season on loan.

The 31 year-old, who can play in central defence or at left back, has made 48 appearances since joining Fulham from Nice in July 2018 but struggled for first team football at Craven Cottage this season. Le Marchand's only start this term came in the 1-0 defeat at Wolves in October and he has only played four games in total this term.

Antwerp are currently second in the Belgian Pro League, fourteen points behind Club Brugge, and in contention to qualify for the Europa League.

Boro Make Deadline Day Swoop For Neeskens Kebano

The club has completed the signing of Fulham winger Neeskens Kebano on loan until the end of the season, subject to EFL clearance.

The 28-year-old is a deadline day capture for Boro boss Neil Warnock as he strengthens his squad and increases his attacking options for the Championship run-in.

Kebano is a double promotion winner with Fulham, having played a part in their 2018 and 2020 elevations to the Premier League.

Prior to joining Fulham, where he has made almost a century of appearances, Kebano started his career with Paris Saint-Germain before spells with Caen, Charleroi, and Genk.

Kebano is also an international team-mate of both Britt Assombalonga and Yannick Bolasie for DR Congo, and has scored six goals for his country.

Warnock said: "It's a deal I didn't think would happen. We've been after Neeskens for a few weeks now and we've managed to get it over the line which is a real plus for us.

"Mendez-Laing and Yannick are both lacking match fitness whereas Neeskens has been involved and playing. He's another string to our bow and we're looking forward to him joining us."

He follows Jordan Archer, Yannick Bolasie, Darnell Fisher, and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing in joining the club during the January transfer window.

Maja Arrives On Loan

We are delighted to announce the signing of Josh Maja from Bordeaux on loan.

The 22-year-old striker will remain with Fulham for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign, with an option for the deal to be made permanent.

Speaking to fulhamfc.com after signing, Maja said: "I'm really excited and proud to sign for Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season.

"This is a big opportunity and I look forward to meeting up with the team and working hard to achieve positive results."

Tony Khan added: "I'm delighted that we've been able to bring Josh back to Fulham. He's made tremendous progress in the years since he left our Academy, and now he's returning to the Club in our First Team with an opportunity to earn his place in our squad and prove himself at the highest level. Come on Fulham!"

A South London boy, Maja spent time with Crystal Palace before joining the Fulham Academy at the age of 11 in May 2010.

Maja spent three years in SW6, honing his craft alongside the likes of current Whites players Jerome Opoku, Taye Ashby-Hammond and Marlon Fossey.

After spending some time with Manchester City, he later joined Sunderland, making his senior debut in the League Cup in September 2016.

The following season he was handed a Championship debut by Chris Coleman, scoring the winner after coming off the bench against Slaviša Jokanović's Fulham side – the last match before our famous 23 game unbeaten run.

It will be the 2018/19 campaign that Maja looks back on as the year he well and truly announced himself, when he had scored 16 goals by mid-January and boasted the best goals (0.63) per game ratio in League One.

It was form that persuaded Bordeaux to take him to France, where last season he scored seven goals, including a hat-trick against Nimes.

Maja's performances in Ligue 1 earned him a first call-up to the Nigeria international squad in September 2019, and he made his debut that same month in a team that also featured Ola Aina.

Maja joins Fulham on loan

Josh Maja has returned to Craven Cottage on loan from Bordeaux for the remainder of the season, Fulham have confirmed tonight.

The 22 year-old had a spell in Fulham's academy as a teenager before moving on to Manchester City and then Sunderland. Maja's first professional goal was the winner against Fulham at the Stadium of Light in December 2017 as the Black Cats, then managed by former Fulham boss Chris Coleman won their first home league game for 364 days. The Lewisham-born striker scored 16 goals in 30 appearances before joining Bordeaux in January 2019 after refusing to extend his Sunderland contract and has found the net 11 times in 49 games for the French side.

Maja has scored twice in seventeen appearances for Bordeaux this year – eleven of them from the substitutes' bench – and spoken previously of his desire to play Premier League football. The Nigerian international, whose only cap at senior level came as a late substitute against Ukraine last September, would be available for a fee of around £8.80m in the summer under the terms of the loan deal.

Maja told the club's official website:

I'm really excited and proud to sign for Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season. This is a big opportunity and I look forward to meeting up with the team and working hard to achieve positive results."
