Shame to see Robinson dropped and surprised that Bryan didn't subsequently get the nod.

BRyan is not even a sub - strange

He must really not fancy Bryan anymore if he prefers a right footer to play LB. And not put him on the bench. Is Mitro injured or ill, although  he has not been on form he has to be worth a place on the bench.

All v strange but here's hoping he knows what he is doing  COYW!

Bryan isn't even on the bench. must be some problem.

Just seen Mitro has Covid. Explains that but what bad luck.

Robinson dropped? Nothing like stripping the one player with some attacking impetus from the team
Given Robinsons crosses were crap last time out and he passed to Hammers players half the time I'm not surprised

That's the only reason I can see Robinson being dropped. He's soo energetic and a real problem with his pace for opposing teams to deal with, but his final ball isn't as good as it should/could be at this level. You'd think over the course of a season it'd get better, but I'm not sure it has.

Surprised to see Robinson on the bench.
I guess that means Aina at left back, Parker probably looking for more height at the back to counter their set pieces.

Hard to believe Mitro not even on the bench but surprised to see Kongolo there.

I don´t think it is that players are being dropped. I think it is more to do with squad rotation. Don´t forget we play Burnley on Wednesday.
Where there's a will there's a wife

Arthur

I hope Parker's not intending to play the same defensive formation as he did against Brighton, with BDR at left wing-back. It was not a successful ploy then, and I'm sure it wouldn't be now.

Yes having that 5th defender on the bench could make all the difference no point putting a youngster on their that could give us an attacking option

Hmm no mitro at all and  5 defenders on the bench. Sums up Parker

On another thread we were assured SP wouldn't start Maja. That was nonsense too wasn't it?

That would be the one who specialised in crossing to the Wet Spam defenders.

The Team In thread is always full of the strangest comments. I guess Parker is the easiest of targets but for every negative comment there is a clear and obvious answer which is often to do with injury, sickness and as with Robinson a severe dip in form. I doubt Parker puts out a team sheet thinking ' this will mess with their heads'.

Oh and COYW

Perhaps after.22 games the pemny has dropped to.win games you need to score more then the other team. Who know perhaps TK tweet about Toney this week may have had an effect on Parker

Lordedmundo

I don't have much confidence after seeing this first eleven (not that I had much anyway). Personally I think Aina has only been good for us in a back three - don't see him as a full back at all. Apart from his wonder goal earlier this season he has been really poor going forward.

If Robinson was to be dropped (I don't think he should have been) then it should be Bryan replacing him.

Shame about Mitro - we really needed him to help defend against all those Burnley set pieces on Wednesday!  :016:

It wasn't nonsense but did seem unlikely. It took him a while to give other players who were new to the club a game and start time and when that statement was made there was also an assumption mitro would be fit (or that Cav would be preferred as Parker has shown a preference for Cav to date).. I don't think it's worth jumping down the posters throat for stating something which in fairness isn't outlandish and seems like a fair statement given what's happened this season so far.

simplyfulham

Not only is Robinson on the bench and Bryan dropped, I'm pretty sure there isn't a left footer in the XI. Never a good sign imo.

This may just sound like reactionary hyperbole, but this lineup stinks of Stoke away 2014 somehow.

This.

Anguissa needs rest.  So does Robinson, and Aina played plenty of LB/LWB with Torino.

Hopefully we'll be able to score.

I see where you're coming from but in fairness sickness for instance has been used as a reason to explain things away in the past when the honest answer is too complex, controversial or attention getting to give. Mitro has covid - I'd be curious as to how he got it when noone else has and when they found it - presumably if he had been training for a bit then it'd be enough to simply suggest others may have it too, which brings the game into doubt. I'm not sure having one person in complete isolation having covid when it's a professional contact sport makes the most sense, although it could be true - i'd imagine others would.. or he tends to be heavily affected by it when he does get it. The fact he spent new years eve with quite a big group could suggest two things, one - he's quite relaxed and liberal when it comes to guidelines or he doesn't get affected by it enough to care (if he's had it previously)...

I'll give parker the benefit of the doubt, but given how little gametime Parker has given Mitro this season, despite having a poor scoring record and players like cav constantly underperforming.. I wouldn't be suprised if there was something more to it. If there is then that'd be a concern as Mitro can score goals at this level and obviously at Championship level... whereas Parker got the job done but was uninspiring in the championship, but has so far failed and in my view quite significantly at this level.
