It seems like with covid/brexit our youth team policy might have changed.

Outside of the Icelandic 16 year old CB in august  we confirmed signing over the summer,  there hasn't been any additions.

Am I the only one worried?

none of our U18"s have progressed recently in the last couple of years.

only loanee I know who has done well is Opoku at Plymouth Argyle(their forum raves about him, and his potential)

Not true as we have also signed for the U18s -
Kieron Bowie - striker from Raith Rovers
George Okkas - Cypriot midfielder
Alex Borto - USA goalkeeper
Dermot Mee - N.Irish 'keeper from Man Utd
Devan Tanton - USA right back

In the U23s we signed
Eric Ameyaw - USA centre back
Lesley Duru - English/Dutch full back/winger
Ziyad Larkeche - french left back from PSG
Jordan Aina - Ola's brother

We do have some prospects, but as has been mentioned previously it isnt a good time for SP to start giving the likes of Jasper & Carvalho game time when we are fighting for PL survival.

Haven't seen Opoku play since a couple of years back before he went on loan to Accrington Stanley. He certainly has the frame for being a defender at least, hope he is able to develop.

I also think that people get a bit too myopic about how many players progress. We had Ryan Sess three seasons back, Elliot two seasons back (not much of a breakthrough I admit, but at least managed to get a decent fee for him) and Rodak last season.

But our policy with transfers for the youth teams has to change after brexit. Won't be able to sign players like Kerim Frei and Dembele anymore.
