Baseball great Bob Feller has died of leukemia at the age of 92.  RIP to a baseball hero, WWII hero, and ground breaker in just about everything he did.  You will be missed around here.

He still is the only pitcher to throw an opening day no-hitter and is responsible for my favorite baseball quote, "I would rather beat the Yankees regularly than throw a no-hitter".

Why has Don's post disappeared? Was it too political?  :031:

Well, maybe he removed it, I know I didn't and I am not shy about doing so.

Bob Feller was a phenom. If my history is correct, he missed some of his best years during WWII while he was in the military. His achievements were phenomenal and would have won 300 games.

RIP.
