Fabrizio Romano delivers worrying Fulham transfer update amid interest from Arsenal and Norwich City

Tosin Adarabioyo could leave Fulham for £10million this summer due to a buy-out clause, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 23-year-old only moved to Craven Cottage last summer after taking the decision to link up with Scott Parker's side on a permanent deal.

Adarabioyo enjoyed a decent campaign for the Whites in the Premier League, making 33 appearances for the club as Fulham suffered relegation back to the Championship.

Despite the team performances, reports from The Sun have claimed that the centre-back is attracting interest from Arsenal, while Sky Sports have added that Norwich City are also keen to bring the player to the club following their promotion to the top flight.

With Fulham back in the Championship it means that the opportunity to challenge himself in the Premier League could be appealing for him, and according to Fabrizio Romano a clause in his contract is leading interest to build in his services.

Taking to Twitter, Romano said: "Tosin Adarabioyo could leave Fulham this summer.

"There's a buy-out clause for £10m included into his contract – many clubs interested as he's 'good opportunity'."

Despite the interest there's no doubt that Fulham will be looking to keep hold of the player as they target an immediate return to the Premier League with a strong campaign in the Championship.

The verdict

Unfortunately for Fulham it could be a tough task to keep hold of Tosin Adarabioyo.

While Scott Parker's side were poor in the Premier League last term there's no doubt that the 23-year-old was one of the few success stories to emerge from the campaign.

Adarabioyo would surely be a big player for Fulham this season as they look to secure promotion back to the top flight, but if the opportunity to be back in the top tier emerges then it could be tricky to turn down.

Arsenal and Norwich City would be great moves for the player and with a release clause now revealed it means that he could be available for a cut-price fee.

Aston Villa could activate '£10m clause' to complete transfer

Latest Aston Villa transfer news from BirminghamLive brings reports that Dean Smith's side are being linked with a move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

According to website completesports.com, Villa are 'interested' in the 23 year-old with Premier League rivals Newcastle United, Norwich City, Southampton and West Ham United also linked.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday night that clubs are keen on the player with a £10 million release clause inserted into the contract he signed when swapping Manchester City for Fulham in October.

Adarabioyo brought an end to his 17-year spell with Man City when he joined Fulham at the beginning of the 2020-21 season.

The centre-back was unable to help avert an immediate relegation back to the Championship for Scott Parker's side and made 34 appearances last campaign.

Villa could look for a new centre-back this summer.

Head coach Dean Smith has played Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa as his two starting centre-backs last season with Kortney Hause in reserve.

Bjorn Engels looks certain to depart the club having not played a single minute in the Premier League since March last year.

Hause spent time on the sidelines with a groin injury after the New Year while Engels does not appear to be in Smith's plans.

That could point to a move for a centre-back and Adarabioyo has Premier League experience and came though Man City's academy and spent time away from the Etihad Stadium on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers.

Adarabioyo, 23, would fit the profile of the sort of player Villa are looking to sign.

He has plenty of upside, can be developed and has extensive experience in English football.

He made 33 appearances for a Fulham side that shipped 53 goals last season, one of the lowest totals in the bottom half of the top flight despite relegation.

Fulham will likely have to sell players this summer upon relegation to the Championship, but owner Shahid Khan has made it clear that deals will not be sanctioned if they hamper a promotion charge.

"We are organising and preparing a squad whose ambition is to achieve promotion straight back to the Premier League," he said.

West Brom, Fulham and Stoke handed boost in pursuit of £8m-rated Liverpool player

Liverpool could sell £8 million-rated striker Taiwo Awoniyi this summer amid links to Fulham, Stoke City, and West Bromwich Albion, according to The Athletic.

The 23-year-old joined the Anfield outfit from Imperial Academy in Nigeria in 2015 but has never featured for the club, instead spending the last six years out on loan in Europe.

It is understood that Awoniyi has recently been granted a UK work permit and it seems he could be one of a number of fringe players to be sold as Liverpool look to add to Jurgen Klopp's transfer fund.

The Athletic has reported that the striker could be sold this summer and that there are suitors in the Championship, with Fulham, Stoke, and West Brom all having indicated their interest already.

The report claims that Liverpool would look for a fee of £8 million should Awoniyi, who still has two years left on his contract, depart in the current window.

The Nigerian forward has played on both flanks in the past but is primarily a centre-forward.

He contributed five goals and four assists in 22 appearances for Bundesliga side Union Berlin last season.

The Verdict

This is clearly a boost for Fulham, Stoke, and West Brom as it appears Liverpool could be looking to cash in on their target this summer.

£8 million is a fairly large fee in the current transfer market but you feel there may be room to negotiate that down, particularly if the Premier League club are raising funds to make signings of their own.

The 23-year-old looks like a player with a bright future but outside his 2018/19 campaign at Royal Excel Mouscron his goalscoring record looks pretty ordinary, which would make £8 million a lot of money to spend on Awoniyi in the current market and could rule the likes of Stoke out.

3 Fulham replacements that Scott Parker must consider amid Leeds United's interest in midfield star

Fulham could be gearing up for a busy old summer window.

After suffering relegation from the Premier League Scott Parker's side are going to be looking at strengthening the squad ahead of a promotion push, however there could be outgoings too.

Reports from the Daily Mail have claimed that Harrison Reed is attracting the interest of Premier League Leeds United.

Reed made 33 appearances for the Whites in all competitions this term, establishing himself as a big player for Parker's team/

The 26-year-old would be a big miss for Fulham, but who could replace him if he does move on? Here are three potential contenders.

Alex Mowatt

A player who enjoyed a wonderful campaign this term.

The Barnsley skipper as scored eight goals and created seven from the middle of the park, helping the Tykes into a surprise play-off spot come the end of the season.

Given that he's currently set to be out of contract this summer it's a move that could really make sense.

James Garner

After impressing with Nottingham Forest last term it seems that James Garner is gearing up for a big career.

The Manchester United youngster might be eyeing a Premier League loan move but if Scott Parker's side offer him an opportunity to be a key player in their promotion push then it could be a move that's of interest.

If they could pull it off this could be a very shrewd short-term solution to the problem.

Paddy McNair

A player who is arguably one of the best in the Championship at what he does.

Paddy McNair is a massive player for Middlesbrough and is often used in the middle of the park due to his technical quality, vision and delivery from set pieces.

Neil Warnock will not want to lose his star man but Fulham made an offer it could be a difficult one for the player to ignore.

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo can leave Craven Cottage for just £10m this summer thanks to a release clause in his deal, with Arsenal and Newcastle circling after impressive season

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo can leave if £10m release clause is triggered
The England youth star was one of the Cottagers' best performers last season
He formed an impressive partnership with Joachim Anderson despite relegation
Arsenal and Newcastle are among the clubs interested in making a bid

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo is available for £10million this summer due to a release clause in his contract, Sportsmail understands.

The former Manchester City centre-half was one of the Cottagers' best performers in the Premier League last season, forming a solid partnership with Joachim Andersen in the heart Scott Parker's defence despite their relegation into the Championship.

But the 23-year-old is set to leave Craven Cottage this summer as it emerged he can join another club if a bid of £10m is tabled.

Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo could leave this summer due to his £10m release clause

The clause expires 30 days before the Championship season, which is scheduled to start on August 7.

The news will be of interest to a number of Premier League clubs ahead of the transfer window, with Arsenal and Newcastle believed to be among the clubs monitoring the defender's situation.

Adarabioyo is expected to remain in the top flight next season following a string of impressive performances for Fulham.

His stats for last season were rated among the best in the Premier League for central defenders alongside the likes of Ruben Dias, Harry Maguire and John Stones.

The former Man City star was one of Fulham's best players last season despite their relegation

He recorded the most clearances in Premier League (193) and fastest sprint time of any central defender.

Indeed, Fulham received widespread praise for their defensive play last season - six teams conceding more goals than the Cottagers despite their bottom-three finish.

However, with Andersen's loan spell from Lyon expired and Adarabioyo destined for a return to the Premier League - it is looking increasingly Fulham will be required to form a new central defensive partnership ahead of next season.

Cherries reportedly 'set to miss out' on Scott Parker

CHERRIES are "set to miss out" on hiring Scott Parker as their new boss, according to a report in The Sun.

Parker has long been of interest to Cherries, who are currently considering their options of who to appoint as head coach for the 2021-22 season, which begins in less than two months.

Jonathan Woodgate signed a short-term deal after replacing Jason Tindall in February, with that contract set to expire at the end of this month following defeat in the Championship play-off semi-finals.

Speaking to BBC Radio Solent last week, chairman Jeff Mostyn said: "We are currently finalising the recruitment process for a manager and we're in the closing stages of that.

"The manager appointment, we all know, is fundamental. It's the key appointment of the summer and it's the first piece of a puzzle."

But according to The Sun, Cherries could be about to miss out on their reported number one target Parker.

The tabloid claim Cherries' failure to secure promotion to the top flight "may end up costing them" in their pursuit of Fulham boss Parker.

The report goes on to say Parker "still feels an emotional tie to Bournemouth" given their previous interest in him.

Fulham were promoted under Parker in 2019-20, before being relegated back into the Championship last season.

Where Sheffield United, Fulham and West Brom may finish in the Championship based on history books after relegation
It's no secret clubs relegated from the Premier League often have trouble reclaiming their top-flight status.

Never have all three relegated teams bounced straight back and only six times in 28 seasons have two teams done it at the first attempt.

Then there are the 27 sides who are yet to return.

Sheffield United who have spent 12 years out of the top flight following both of their previous relegations, will be hoping things are different this time round and they join the 23 other clubs who have been promoted at the earliest opportunity.

And, recent history – as well as parachute payments – should give Blades fans hope.

In the last five seasons, at least one team relegated from the top flight the previous year has made the Championship play-offs.

In that time, four teams have been immediately promoted back to the Premier League.

Here's a look at how clubs relegated in the last five seasons have performed the following year.

1. Straight back up?

Sheffield United are hoping to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

2. 20/21: Bournemouth, Norwich City and Watford

Both Norwich City and Watford returned to the top flight at the first time of asking last season in first and second position respectively, while Bournemouth made the play-offs after finishing sixth but were beaten by eventual winners Brentford.

3. 19/20: Cardiff, Fulham and Huddersfield

Fulham performed the best out of the three teams relegated in the 2018-19 season, they won promotion via the play-offs after finishing fourth - one place ahead of Cardiff. Huddersfield, meanwhile, were 18th.

4. 18/19: Stoke City, Swansea and West Brom

West Brom finished fourth back in the Championship but missed out on promotion via the play-offs, while Swansea finished 10th and Stoke in 16th.

Premier League sides eye Adarabioyo swoop

A clutch of Premier League clubs are plotting a summer swoop for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who can leave Craven Cottage for £10m.

The 23 year-old centre half was one of Scott Parker's most impressive performers as the Cottagers slipped out of the top flight having helped shore up the Fulham defence alongside Joachim Andersen. Adarabioyo is available for £10m until July 8th under the terms of the contract he signed when he decided to leave Manchester City for London last summer.

The ball-playing centre back, who made 33 appearances for Fulham last term, has no shortage of admirers in the top flight. Mikel Arteta, who worked with the defender when he was assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is known to rate him highly and could take him to Arsenal. Newly-promoted Norwich City have been credited with an interest in bolstering their backline with Adarabioyo, while the Daily Mail also lists Newcastle as one of the sides monitoring the situation.

Arsenal given strict deadline to complete £10m Tosin Adarabioyo transfer
Arsenal are linked with Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo but will have to move quickly to sign him.

Arsenal have been made aware of a strict deadline if they want to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, according to reports. Arsenal are claimed to be interested in signing Adarabioyo following Fulham's relegation from the Premier League. Newcastle are also named as potential suitors for the 23-year-old.

Adarabioyo made 33 starts for Fulham in the Premier League last season following his permanent exit from Manchester City.

The former England under-19 international made eight first-team appearances for City after coming through the youth ranks at the Etihad.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will know Adarabioyo well after being the assistant to Pep Guardiola between 2016 and 2019.

And it appears the Spaniard is a fan of the centre-back.

The Mail claims Arsenal are monitoring Adarabioyo, as are Steve Bruce's Newcastle.

Fulham's relegation to the Championship has caused a £10million release clause in Adarabioyo's contract to become active.

However, interested parties will only have until 30 days before the new Championship season to activate that clause.

The new Championship campaign is expected to commence the weekend of August 7, so clubs have until around July 8 to get a deal done.

Arsenal are in the market for a defender following the release of David Luiz at the end of his contract.

William Saliba is set to return from his loan spell at Nice this summer but is yet to kick a ball in English football.

It remains to be seen if Arteta would be willing to thrust Saliba straight into top-flight action if need be.

Brighton and England ace Ben White has been linked with the Gunners, though Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested in the £50m-rated defender.

Adarabioyo would be a considerably cheaper deal for Arsenal to complete.

He would also bring a full season of experience in the Premier League, albeit in a struggling Fulham side.

Adarabioyo formed a good partnership at Craven Cottage with loanee Joachim Andersen, who has returned to Lyon.

Adarabioyo also had two seasons on loan in the Championship at West Brom and Blackburn respectively before a reported £2m deal to Fulham.

Centre-back is not the only position Arsenal are targeting in this window.

The expected departure of Granit Xhaka to Roma is set to lead to the arrival of at least one midfielder.

Wolves star Ruben Neves and Brighton ace Yves Bissouma are both targets for the north London club.

So Tosin is available for £10m , surely at that price it is odds on that he will move to a premier league club and a place at Arsenal must be very attractive to him.
That will leave our defense lookin very much in the shaky state it was at the start of last season before the arrival of Anderson and Tosin.
