Key club figure delivers transfer update that will interest Rangers, Celtic and Fulham

Peterborough United are yet to receive any offers for Siriki Dembele, according to the club's director of football Barry Fry.

The 24-year-old looks set to be a wanted man this summer with interest building in his services following an impressive campaign for the Posh.

Dembele played a huge role in helping the club to secure promotion to the Championship after scoring 12 goals and creating 12 more in all competitions for the club.

However with just one year left on his contract it means that clubs are looking to capitalise on his position.

Fulham, Celtic and Rangers have all been credited with an interest in the player this summer with Fry previously claiming that Dembele was available to move on before the new season.

However speaking to the press, Fry has revealed that so far there have been no offers for the player and that it's not out of the question that he could start the season with the Posh in the Championship.

Speaking to Peterborough Today, Fry said: "It's been quiet as far as bids are concerned.

"It could be that Siriki starts the season with us.

"If he does he would best advised to play his heart out for Posh as the transfer window remains open until September 7 and that gives him a month to impress someone."

The verdict

It certainly looks like Siriki Dembele will be moving on this summer.

While no formal offers appear to have been made so far there's no doubt that a player of the 24-year-old's quality will attract interest.

With just one year left on his deal it seems that any club could hope for a cut-price deal for the player, but where he'll go remains to be seen.

If Dembele does stick around next term then it won't be the worst thing at all with Peterborough needing every bit of quality at their disposal to try and avoid the drop next term.

Allan Campbell latest as multiple English sides chase Motherwell academy graduate

Allan Campbell is wanted by multiple English teams, with Fulham and Millwall believed to be two of the teams after the Motherwell academy graduate (DR).

The former Scotland U21s midfielder is leaving Motherwell this summer, having been with the Fir Park club since he was a child. He will be available for a compensation fee, with Fulham, Millwall Luton Town and Peterborough United all keen on Campbell.

Fulham, Millwall and Luton Town play in the English Championship while Peterborough United are in League One. Motherwell manager Graham Alexander confirmed Campbell's departure last month while the Fir Park club have since announced the midfielder's exit.

Motherwell have made one new signing so far this summer, forward Connor Shields from Scottish Championship side Queen of the South. Key players like Campbell, captain Declan Gallagher and goalkeeper Liam Kelly are all leaving the club prior to the 2021/22 Scottish Premiership season.

Opinion: As transfer interest mounts, Fulham must do all they can to keep 26-year-old around for one more season

For the fifth season in a row, Fulham have swapped divisions following their relegation from the Premier League.

Their yo-yoing started in the 2017-18 campaign when Slavisa Jokanovic guided them through the play-offs and into the top flight, and since then their seasons have either ended in relegation or promotion.

After guiding the Cottagers to a play-off final win last year against rivals Brentford, Scott Parker couldn't make Fulham's latest Premier League stay an extended one – despite adding a considerable amount of power to his squad.

But the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ademola Lookman, Alphonse Areola and others couldn't stop the club from the drop, and we saw little impact made by another big hitter in Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Having scored 26 goals in 40 Championship matches the season before, Mitrovic was expected to lead the line for Fulham once again but it was a really inconsistent season for the Serbian striker, who found himself in and out of Parker's plans as he often used winger Ivan Cavaleiro up top.

Mitrovic cut a frustrated figure at times, netting just three times in 27 appearances and it hasn't been long for the transfer speculation to start.

Firstly it was AS Roma and Jose Mourinho who were reportedly showing an interest, and Turkish giants Fenerbahce were also credited with a potential move for the 26-year-old.

There's seemingly now been a concrete offer though from Russian side Dynamo Moscow, with The Sun reporting that a £16 million bid has been turned down for Mitrovic.

Fulham paid an initial £22 million for Mitrovic from Newcastle United, so you'd imagine they're looking at a similar, if not increased fee to sell him, and you'd imagine considering Parker used a winger ahead of him at times last season that he'd be receptive to the idea of cashing in.

However looking at Mitrovic's past Championship form it would be a silly move to let him go.

38 goals in 57 games in the second tier of English football for Fulham is a fantastic record and even though Mitrovic is definitely Premier League quality when he gets the chances falling his way, he's on another level in the Championship.

If Parker wants to get Fulham back to the Premier League at the first opportunity, he simply must fend off all bids for Mitrovic and make him the focal point of the team ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

Fulham Midfielder Attracting Serie A Interest

Napoli have set their sights on Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and are keen on taking him to Italy.

Anguissa joined Fulham in the summer of 2018 and has so far made over 60 appearances in all competitions for the London club.

The past season saw Fulham relegated from the Premier League, when Anguissa made 36 appearances for his team in the top flight after returning from a loan spell at Villarreal in the 2019/20 campaign.

The relegation meant that, not counting his loan spell at Villarreal, Anguissa suffered the pain of relegation in his two full seasons at Craven Cottage.

Serie A side Napoli have taken an interest in the midfielder and it is claimed they are considering signing the player to add him to their ranks, according to Italian daily Tuttosport.

Fulham are believed to be open to selling Anguissa following their relegation, but have set his price at €25m which could turn out to be an obstacle in the path of the deal going through.

Napoli are unwilling to meet the price set by Fulham, their valuation of the midfielder being less than the Cottagers'.

If the deal does go through, Anguissa would be trading Championship football for a chance to play in the Europa League.

Report: London-based club reject £16m bid for striker also wanted by West Ham

London-based club Fulham have reportedly rejected a bid for their striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is a target this summer for West Ham.

According to the Sun, Fulham have turned down a £16million offer from Dynamo Moscow for their centre-forward.

It is understood that they have no intention of selling the 26-year-old during this window. However, the Serbia internatonal himself is "keen" to leave after a difficult individual season.

The report names West Ham as a club interested in him. In addition, Hammers manager David Moyes is believed to be an admirer.

Mitrovic will be in the Championship next season as it stands. Unfortunately, his Fulham team suffered relegation from the Premier League, and he was unable to have much of an impact.

He scored four goals and made four assists in 31 games across all competitions. However, he's a striker that scored 26 Championship goals in the previous campaign.

Mitrovic a great target for West Ham, but Fulham are digging their heels in

Obviously, West Ham need to sign a new centre-forward before next season.

The Irons need genuine competition for Michail Antonio at striker, as they prepare to play in both domestic and European fixtures.

It didn't happened for him in the 2020/21 campaign at Craven Cottage, but he's certainly got bags of individual ability.

The Serbian has 41 goals for his country and could be a great option for the Hammers squad, but it looks like signing him will be too big an obstacle.

Fulham dealt blow in Ike Ugbo pursuit

Fulham have been dealt a major blow in their bid to bring Ike Ugbo to Craven Cottage this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by All Nigeria Soccer, who claim that Scott Parker's side have missed out on the signing of the Chelsea youngster, for whom there has been a great amount of interest in recent weeks.

It is reported that, along with Fulham, Monaco, FC Rostov, CSKA Moscow and Bologna have also failed in a bid to sign the 22-year-old this summer, with Watford, Eintracht Frankfurt and Genk being the remaining three teams in the race.

Considering how highly Ugbo impressed during his most recent loan spell away from Chelsea, the news that Fulham will not be welcoming the centre-forward to Craven Cottage this summer is sure to leave Scott Parker gutted.

Indeed, over his 32 Jupiler Pro League appearances for Cercle Brugge last term, the £4.05m-rated youngster scored 16 goals and created two big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.8 shots and making 0.5 key passes per game.

These returns saw the £38k-per-week striker earn a seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.79, ranking him as Yves Vanderhaeghe's eighth-best performer in the top tier of Belgian football.

Ugbo also impressed on a previous loan spell at Roda JC Kerkrade in 2019/20, with the former England U20 international scoring 13 goals and proving three assists over 28 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

As such, it certainly appears as if the player whom the Belgian media dubbed "decisive" centre-forward would have made a fine addition to Parker's attacking arsenal at Fulham ahead of next season – a campaign in which the Cottagers will be looking to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

However, unfortunately for the 40-year-old and his club, it now very much appears as if the Chelsea prospect will be plying his trade elsewhere next season.

Fulham send Sheffield United message as they reject £16m Mitrovic bid

If Sheffield United and their supporters had any hopes of signing Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer, then those hopes appear over already.

The big striker was one of the very first names mentioned when Slavisa Jokanovic took over from Chris Wilder. Mitrovic enjoyed a fine spell under the new Blades boss, so the talk was only natural.

Other players, such as Tom Cairney, have also been mentioned. Ryan Sessegnon is another. The young winger returning to Spurs this summer from Germany.

However, when it comes to Mitrovic, it looks like United might as well not even bother trying. That's because Fulham have, according to The Sun, have rejected a £16m bid for the forward from Russia.

The Cottagers are insisting Mitrovic is not for sale. However, the player is said to want out, meaning this could drag on into the summer months.

For Sheffield United, this looks like being a race that has ran before we even got out of the starting blocks. We aren't paying £16m+ for a new striker.

Mitrovic to Sheffield United was never going to happen was it?

It's all well and good getting excited about certain players coming to the club, but Mitrovic was always a long shot.

One, he is on massive money with Fulham. And second, as mentioned, the Cottagers want a big fee for their man. Rightly so, too.

Obviously, if Jokanovic did manage to pull off some mega deal and sell a few to bring Mitro in, then we're all for it. But with Fulham turning down early bids and United said to be looking at the Premier League loan market, this now seems unlikely.

West Ham boss David Moyes a keen admirer of Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic - report

West Ham boss David Moyes is a keen admirer of Aleksandar Mitrovic according to a report from The Sun. Fulham are not prepared to sell the 26-year-old, however.

The Cottagers have already rejected a £16 million bid for the Serbia international (The Sun).

Signing a top class centre-forward will be pivotal for Moyes if West Ham are to achieve a successful 2021/22 campaign.

The Hammers have already been linked with a plethora of strikers.

Quite who will rock up at the London Stadium, however, remains to be seen.

West Ham boss David Moyes wants Aleksandar Mitrovic

According to The Sun, the Hammers boss is a big fan of the 26-year-old striker.

It may well be tricky for the East London outfit to prise Mitro away from Craven Cottage, however, with Fulham reluctant to sell the centre-forward.

Was have to be honest, missing out on the Serbian wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Mitrovic doesn't have any kind of pace or mobility whatsoever. It could be argued that those two attributes are actually the most important assets for a modern day striker to have.

Plenty more fish in the sea

The Fulham striker just wouldn't suit the West Ham system at all.

If Moyes truly wants to sign the 26-year-old then we will back him of course. We just can't see what he would add to the Hammers team.

There are quite simply a lot better and more cost effective options out there for us this summer.

Rome, Shefield and West Ham seem to be offering a new home for Mitro  and more could follow. in view of his rumoured poor relationship with Parker it will be surprising if he does not decide to move on.

This could mean that we will be starting the season with Cav. as our main striker, where will the goals come from.

Probably the same place the goals came from last season ie nowhere.  I think West Ham would be his preferred destination as he is happy in London with his family settled.
