European club make seven-figure offer to Fulham for 26-year-old

Greek Super League side Aris Thessaloniki made a £4million offer to Fulham for the signing of striker Aboubakar Kamara, a report from Sky Sports Transfer Centre (25/06, 22:39) has claimed.

Kamara joined Fulham from Amiens back in the summer of 2017, and has since gone on to make 93 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers, scoring 17 goals and twice helping the club win promotion from the Championship.

The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan in France with Dijon as they suffered relegation from Ligue 1.

Now it seems as though Kamara could get the chance to move on from Craven Cottage permanently this summer.

According to this latest update, Aris, who finished third in the Greek top-flight last season, have made an offer of at least £4million to Fulham for the signing of Kamara, and it now remains to be seen if that bid will accepted.

As things stand, there are still three years remaining on Kamara's current contract with Fulham, securing his future at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2024, and putting the club in a strong position to negotiate any offers that come in for the attacker.

The Verdict

This could well be an offer worth considering for Fulham.

Kamara has never really been able to shine at Craven Cottage, and you don't really get the feeling that he will be a key figure for them going forward, given his recent struggles for game time prior to last season's loan move.

Indeed, the fee that Fulham could receive for Kamara could be useful financially, although his contract situation means you wonder whether the club might be inclined to push for a higher offer to accept.

As a result, with Kamara potentially keen on more regular, top-flight football as well, it may not be a big surprise if he does head to Aris at some point this summer.

2 knock-on effects that Fulham face as West Ham express interest in midfield maestro

Fulham are preparing for a potentially tricky summer.

After suffering relegation last term the club are looking to adapt to life back in the Championship, however they face the prospect of doing so without out key man.

According to reports from Claret & Hugh, Tom Cairney is attracting the attention of Premier League side West Ham United.

The 30-year-old could be lined up as an alternative to the club's other target Jesse Lingard – something that would certainly be bad news for the West London side.

Here are two knock-on effects if West Ham were able to complete their move.

Losing vital experience

If Tom Cairney was to move on it would be a bitter blow for Fulham.

The 30-year-old has spent six years with the club and while suffering relegation twice during that time, he's also been the club's captain as they secured promotion on two occasions.

Such experience is absolutely vital and if Cairney was to move on then it'd be a big blow for the club's aspirations this summer.

The need to find a replacement

Tom Cairney is a vital player for Fulham and so he'll need replacing.

As well as being a technically-gifted player who is key to how the team play the game, he's also a proven leader who has led the team through some real highs and lows.

While the club will obviously be looking to recoup a substantial fee, there has to be an acceptance that replacing someone who is crucial both on and off the field could be a real challenge.

Aris make offer for Kamara

Greek outfit Aris have offered £3.5m for Fulham forward Aboubakar Kamara, according to various reports this weekend.

The Greek Super League side have proposed a structured deal with another £1m in add-ons for the 26 year-old. Kamara spent the second half of last season on loan at Dijon, who were relegated from Ligue 1. It remains to be seen whether the French forward will be at Craven Cottage next season as he has been little more than a bit-part player over the past couple of seasons and Fulham's managerial situation is still up in the air.

Kamara's incident-filled spell in west London begin in July 2017 when he arrived from Amiens. The striker, who was used successfully on the right wing in the closing weeks of Fulham's first Championship promotion season under Slavisa Jokanovic, has scored 17 goals in 91 appearances for the Whites. But controversy has followed him both on and off the pitch. He missed a penalty against Huddersfield after refusing to hand the ball over to Aleksandar Mitrovic, infuriating then-manager Claudio Ranieri, and was involved in a flare-up with the Serbian striker during a yoga session the following months. After a fight with a security guard at Motspur Park, Kamara was shipped out to Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor.

Scott Parker reintegrated Kamara back into the first-team squad the following season but with his own future at Craven Cottage very much in doubt – a permanent move away from Fulham might be on the cards. That would leave the Whites with little striking cover for Mitrovic, who has also been linked with a summer departure following Fulham's relegation from the top flight.

Exclusive: Fry slams Fulham amid Parker exit reports

Peterborough United Director of Football Barry Fry believes Fulham failed to back Scott Parker last summer amid reports that he could leave the club.

The former midfielder attempted to keep the Cottagers in the Premier League but was unable to do so, as they were relegated to the Championship.

It is the second time in three seasons that Fulham have been relegated after wildly differing spends.

Prior to the 2018/19 season, the club spent over £104m on new players, per Transfermarkt, but finished 19th with 26 points; prior to 2020/21, they spent just £33.5m and finished 18th with 28 points.

Reports now suggest that Parker is set to depart Fulham and there has been a claim that he could take over at Bournemouth after they failed to win promotion via the play-offs.

Fry believes that the Cottagers have made their bed with Parker, having failed to give him the required backing before their Premier League campaign.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, Fry said: "I don't think Fulham backed Scott when they got promotion this time last year, they didn't back him at all in the transfer market, in my opinion."

Boy we must have upset Barry fry by not buying dembele, or Clarke Harris , why is he suddenly become anti Fulham and pro Parker.

Amusing fella as always.
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

Find this hard to swallow on numerous fronts. Firstly his age, not sure they would anyone of 30 except on a shortish contract. Also his fitness record, been out most of last season and has had absences throughout his career. At best he would be on the bench then there is the risk he would be laid up.
Glad to see him in a Fulham shirt but can't see West Ham wanting to splash any serious money for him.

Every year they roll this one out. [emoji23] If TC was going to West Am he'd have gone by now.

I hear we are getting either Jason Koumas or David Bentley in to replace him
