I picked 6, because the oldies were not listed and we've not had all the managers yet to come!

Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

No doubt at all ,it has to be Beddy Jezzard. Promotion to the top flight in his first season and then kept us there for some eight years or so on a shoe string budget, never relegated.
He only left in protest of Alan Mullery being sold to Spurs without his knowledge.
No big pay off for Beddy , after leavingus he left football and earned his living as a publican.

Managers had an entirely different profile in those days.

I don't remember, watching Fulham from the  early 60's, mainly battling valiantly to stay in the top flight, ever seeing Beddy Jezzard make a public appearance - no post game interviews, or constant newspaper articles, but i knew he'd had illustrious playing career for Fulham from seeing mates' photos, and that we'd got promotion under him.

And his post Fulham occupation shows how the lack of money given to players in the game, extended to the managers.
All you say is true Ray Smith but surely we are not judging our past managers on TV appearances or the quality of their pullovers but on team performance and results and the time they held the job.
I say again Beddy Jezzard has to come second to none.

Filham - this was in no way intended as a criticism of Beddy Jezzard, but more of the way the game has changed that i was  criticising - with all the publicity and TV coverage of the game and everyone involved at top level, with so much attention paid to  every detail, such as 'body language' (we are all psychologists now!) and the way they are dressed, for example, as we've recently seen with Parker.

I was making the point that Jezzard quietly got on with his job, which he did very successfully, keeping Fulham  in the division, and keeping hold of our quality players like Haynes and Cohen, though as you said, he resigned when the club sold Mullery to Spurs behind his back.
And he wasn't even well compensated financially.

I would certainly not make any criticism of Beddy Jezzard - a Fulham legend as players and manager, though representing a different era, when  neither players or managers  made much from the game, and often  struggled after retirement.
Now thing have gone  a long way in the other direction , for  top players and managers anyway - too far many say.

Abbotsbury White

To define the 'best' is difficult, one managers style maybe pleasing while another would have been with us longer and possibly have a better win ratio, below is the complete list of managers with games managed, wins ,losses and win percentage(sorry for the way it has come out) Phil Kelso over 450 games and near a 40% win rate looks impressive, best win ratio was Keegan by a mile but over a short time.
