Spreadex signs shirt sponsorship deal with Fulham FC

Financial trading and spread betting operator Spreadex has signed a two-year shirt sponsorship deal with Championship football club Fulham FC.

As well as adorning the Spreadex logo on the back of the club's new kits – which will be released later this week – Fulham will also work with Spreadex on a range of community and charity initiatives during the duration of the agreement.

Spreadex will also have a presence across Fulham's social media channels, in addition to being able to advertise on LED perimeter boards at Craven Cottage.

Spreadex CFO James Hallan said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Fulham Football Club for the next two seasons and feel privileged to now become a part of the Fulham family. This is a great club with a long history and tremendous reputation, and the deal signifies Spreadex's continued growth plans as a company.

"We look forward to working closely with our new partners and will be supporting Fulham both on and off the pitch as the team aims to return to the Premier League."

Fulham become the second football team to partner with Spreadex in the space of a week, after Premier League side Burnley also signed a shirt sponsorship deal with the company.

Fulham's sales director Jon Don-Carolis added: "We are all delighted to welcome Spreadex Trading on board as Principal Partner for the forthcoming campaign and look forward to working with the team to develop and strengthen our association during the term of the partnership."

Sources: Fulham consider 29-year-old's future in wake of multi-million pound transfer agreement

Fulham are open to Anthony Knockaert's departure on the back of landing Harry Wilson from Liverpool over the weekend, Football League World understands.

Wilson, 24, has arrived at Craven Cottage from Liverpool in a £12m deal that could potentially keep him with Fulham through until the summer of 2026. He scored seven times and registered 11 assists for Cardiff City last season, once again excelling in the Championship.

For Fulham, the Welshman is a significant coup ahead of their Championship return. His arrival, though, opens the door to potential departures elsewhere in the squad.

Football League World understand that the capture of Wilson could lead to Knockaert ending his stay in West London.

The Frenchman's wages could well be a stumbling block for any interested parties in his signature, but Fulham are scanning the market for a potential buyer this summer.

Knockaert, who had won promotion and played in the Premier League with Brighton previously, joined Fulham in the summer of 2019, initially on loan.

The 29-year-old made 49 appearances for Fulham in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering five assists. The agreement that took him from Brighton to West London on loan was made permanent in the middle of that spell for £10m, with Scott Parker eventually leading the club to promotion via the play-offs.

However, with Fulham playing Premier League football last season, Knockaert was again sent out on loan.

He eventually linked up with ex-Brighton boss, Chris Hughton, at Nottingham Forest, who drifted towards mid-table last season in the Championship.

The winger scored only twice for the Reds and is now back in the mix with Fulham, who are heading back into the Championship in 2021/22 following relegation.

A new manager awaits Knockaert in the form of Marco Silva, who has succeeded Parker. However, Wilson's arrival has knocked the winger down the pecking order under another regime.

Flamengo Meeting Agent Of Fulham And Middlesbrough Target Today, Could Be Decisive

Flamengo will hold talks with the agent of Fulham and Middlesbrough target Rodrigo Muniz over the forward's departure later today and the saga could quickly come to a conclusion.

The 20-year-old forward has appeared as a key transfer target for the two Championship clubs this summer.

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock wants to add more goals to his squad ahead of the new season and the club held lengthy discussions on Monday over signing Muniz.

Fulham are also interested in the forward and want to sign him as they look to bounce straight back up to the Premier League next season.

Flamengo are aware of the interest Muniz has been attracting and according to Brazilian outlet UOL, they have scheduled a fresh meeting in Lisbon to discuss the striker's departure.

The forward's agent will be part of the summit today as they look to find a solution for the young forward's future.

Middlesbrough are looking to sign Muniz on loan with an option, or potentially an obligation, to buy.

Apart from the Championship, Muniz has also been attracting the interest of Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nasr this summer.

They are willing to offer €4m to secure 50 per cent of the striker's economic rights.

It is claimed that today's meeting could be decisive and a decision could come within the coming hours.

Opoku set for Danish loan

Fulham defender Jerome Opoku is poised to join Danish side Vejle on a season-long loan, according to Sky Sports.

The 22 year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan at Accrington Stanley and Plymouth Argyle after impressing as the captain of Fulham's under-23 side. Opoku, who can play in the centre of defence or at left back, signed a one-year contract extension at Craven Cottage this summer but Fulham are keen for him to continue getting first team football.

If the loan deal goes through quickly enough, Opoku could make his Vejle debut in their Superliga meeting with Brondby on Sunday afternoon.

How Fulham could strengthen their striking options

One of Marco Silva's major focuses as the clock ticks down to the big kick-off is supplementing Fulham's striking resources. At the moment, the club's new head coach would face a conundrum were he to be deprived of the services of our talismanic Serb Aleksandar Mitrovic. The options to replace our number nine are limited with Aboubakar Kamara inconsistent and young Jay Stansfield having made just a couple of senior appearances. With Kamara being linked with a potential departure, the race is on to find further forward options who could make their mark in the Championship.

Silva has already shown a strong interest in Brazilian youngster Rodrigo Muniz – and Flamengo are reportedly poised to make a decision between competing offers from Fulham and Middlesbrough in the next few hours. If we are to avoid enduring more of Ivan Cavaleiro as a false nine, then the recruitment of another attacker needs to be a priority. I've put together five possible targets that should suit the sort of system Silva will employ at Craven Cottage, based on how his Watford and Everton sides played in the past.

Cauley Woodrow (Barnsley)

The first name needs no introduction. Cauley Woodrow spent eight years at Fulham, starring in the youth set-up, before progressing to the first team when he was handed a surprise Premier League debut by Felix Magath. Woodrow never really got the regular run in the senior side he probably deserved – scoring twelve goals in 66 appearances – and it was no surprise when he left the club in 2019. He has flourished at Barnsley, scoring 48 times in 126 games, and enjoyed an outstanding season last year as the Tykes surprised plenty by sneaking into the play-offs. He's always spoken highly of Fulham and might well be open to a return.

Kemar Roofe (Rangers)

The Jamaican international has made a real mark north of the border since returning to British football from Anderlecht last August. He scored eighteen goals in 36 appearances last season as Steven Gerrard lead Rangers to the Scottish title and his eye for goal and predatory instincts can't be quibbled with. The Jamaican international is certainly no stranger to the Championship – having scored 29 goals in three seasons with Leeds, with fifteen of those coming in the 2018/2019 when the Yorkshire side narrowly missed out on promotion. It remains to be seen whether Rangers would countenance the loss of a proven goalscorer and Roofe's injury proneness might also count against him.

Liam Delap (Manchester City)

The son of former Stoke City long-throw expert Rory, Delap has been widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in English youth football for some time. Still only 18, the powerful forward rattled in 24 goals in 20 matches for Manchester's under 23 side last season. He has already made three appearances for the senior side, with Pep Guardiola praising his maturity, and scored within eighteen minutes of his first-team debut against Bournemouth in the League Cup. A whole host of Championship clubs are keen to take Delap on loan, which City might see of a way of furthering his development, but it is far from certain where he might end up at this point. Delap might be raw, but he's a real prospect.

Daryl Dike (Orlando City)

Championship watchers will be well aware of the American international's credentials after an excellent loan spell at Barnsley last season. The 21 year-old scored nine goals in nineteen appearances to help the Reds reach the play-offs, but the Oakwell outfit were priced out of turning the loan into a permanent move. Trying to lure Dike to Craven Cottage would certainly be ambitious, with several Premier League clubs reportedly keen on his signature and an apparent £18m price tag, but his skill set would make him an almost ideal understudy for Mitrovic.

Lucas Joao (Reading)

Silva would certainly be aware of the striking credentials of his compatriot and Joao's nineteen goals for Reading last season represented a remarkable return. He has scored goals consistently in the Championship having spent three seasons with Sheffield Wednesday, and at 6'4" would relish the physical contest, just like Mitrovic. The Portuguese international would likely thrive on the sort of service offered by new signing Harry Wilson – although the Royals have already resisted approaches from other suitors this summer.

Fulham dealt Aboubakar Kamara transfer blow

Fulham have been dealt a blow in their bid to secure Aboubakar Kamara an exit from Craven Cottage this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to a claim made by Peter Rutzler, with The Athletic journalist revealing in a post on Twitter that talks regarding the 26-year-old's proposed £4m switch to Aris Salonica have collapsed.

In his tweet, Rutzler said: "It's understood that talks regarding a £4m transfer for Fulham's Aboubakar Kamara to Greek Super League side Aris Salonica have broken down."

Silva will be fuming

Considering just how poor Kamara has been for Fulham in recent seasons, reports that a deal which would have seen the striker seal an exit from Craven Cottage this summer – particularly for a fee of £4m – has fallen through is sure to have left Silva frustrated.

Indeed, over his 11 Premier League appearances for Fulham last term, the £1.8m-rated man scored no goals, registered no assists and missed one big chance, averaging just 0.2 shots on target per game.

These returns saw the man Claudio Ranieri dubbed "disrespectful" when he dislodged regular penalty taker Aleksandar Mitrovic to hit a spot kick in 2018, only to duly miss, earn an average SofaScore match rating of 6.36, ranking him as the Cottagers' fifth-worst performer in the top flight.

Seemingly as a result of these disappointing displays, in addition to his considerable £21k-per-week wages, Scott Parker subsequently sent the Mauritania international out on loan to Dijon for the second half of the campaign.

As such, it would very much appear as if Kamara's time at Fulham is all but up, and with Aris having offered an extremely generous figure for the striker, this move would have been a fantastic outcome for Marco Silva and the west London club.

However, with his proposed switch to Greece now appearing dead in the water, Tony Khan and Fulham's transfer team will now have to get to work on finding the 26-year-old a new club.

Fossey on trial with Rotherham

Fulham full back Marlon Fossey is set to join Rotherham United on trial with a view to a loan move, according to reports this evening.

The American defender signed a new two-year contract at Craven Cottage last month but is desperate to play regular football after being desperately unlucky with injuries over the past couple of years. The 22 year-old right back saw his loan spell at Shrewsbury ended by a serious knee injury and only returned for Fulham's under 23s at the end very end of last season.

Fossey is likely to feature in Rotherham's friendly against Middlesbrough on Friday.

No Wednesday loan for Jasper

Sylvester Jasper has returned to Fulham after Sheffield Wednesday decided not to take him on loan following his pre-season trial.

Owls boss Darren Moore confirmed after last night's win at Port Vale that the young Fulham winger had gone back to London, despite impressing him during his fortnight with the League One club. The 19 year-old featured in three matches for Wednesday and Fulham were willing to let the young prospect leave Craven Cottage on a temporary basis to further his development, but they will now consider his next move before the start of the EFL campaign.

The former England youth international, who extended his contract until 2023 last summer, has made three senior appearances for the Whites since being handed his debut by Scott Parker in an FA Cup defeat at Manchester City two years ago.

Middlesbrough meet club in Lisbon to negotiate signing – Talks held by Neil Bausor and Leo Percovich

For the past few days, we've been seeing reports from Brazil claiming that Fulham are in talks with Flamengo for Rodrigo Muniz.

It was said the Whites first had an offer for a loan with an option to buy rejected, and would now be back with a new attempt, as Marco Silva is really keen on signing the striker.

In one of those reports, it had been claimed that Middlesbrough were interested in Muniz as well. Now a new update from Brazil says that the club are engaged in talks for the transfer.

According to UOL, there was a meeting between Flamengo and Boro on Monday night. The Championship side are interested in a loan with an optional or obligatory buying clause.

UOL says the meeting was held in Lisbon by Flamengo officials Bruno Spindel and Marcos Braz, while Middlesbrough were represented by CEO Neil Bausor and assistant manager Leo Percovich.

Boro have competition from Al Nasr and Fulham. It's claimed that the Craven Cottage side should make a new bid this week.

The lowdown on Crystal Palace transfer target Joachim Andersen

Crystal Palace are poised to make their most significant acquisition of Patrick Vieira's rebuild.

Joachim Andersen is set to sign a five-year deal with the South Londoners reportedly set to agree a deal costing around £20 million.

Added to the defensive recruitment of Marc Guehi, who joined on a long-term basis from London rivals Chelsea, Andersen will supplement Vieira's squad after Scott Dann, Gary Cahill and Mamadou Sakho left the club.

While Andersen is Lyon's player, his loan spell at Fulham last season was where the Danish centre back imposed himself and blossomed in a team that slumped to an early relegation.

ANDERSEN'S BACKGROUND
Despite starting his youth career in his native Denmark, Andersen made a name for himself in professional football with FC Twente.

His impressive rise in Holland led to a move to Sampdoria.

In his second season in the Serie A, Andersen, at the age of just 22, established himself – in a league that celebrates the art of defending – as one of the best in his position.

His imperious performances in Italy led to Lyon shelling out a then club record of an initial €24 million that could have eventually risen to €30 million.

While Andersen failed to settle in France, his spell in the Premier League kickstarted his upward trajectory back into life.

At the heart of Fulham's defence, Andersen won 99 aerial battles, 150 clearances, and had a tackle success rate of 58 per cent. And despite being a loan player, Scott Parker entrusted Andersen with the captain's armband just four games into his spell at Craven Cottage.

Andersen has been capped by his country from U16 level through to the national side and was selected for the Denmark team that made it to the semi-finals of Euro 2020.

WHY ANDERSEN MAKES SENSE
The Eagles are only two games into their revolution, but there is already a clear and distinct pattern forming.

Vieira's attacking phase of play begins with the centre-backs and one deep-lying midfielder acting in the 'quarterback' role, who looks to pick out one of the attacking full-backs or pass between the opposition lines.

The possession-based game is well suited to Andersen. The 25-year-old, who was pinpointed as a catalyst for Fulham's belief that they could survive in the top-flight, showcased his calmness, assuredness and composure when playing out from the back – making the most passes, 1,958, in the league for Fulham last season.

The 4-3-3 appears to be the formation of choice heading into the season, but Vieira has also deployed the 5-2-3 formation in the past. Therefore, signing Andersen, who will join James Tomkins, Martin Kelly, Cheikhou Kouyate and Guehi in defence, allows the French head coach options at his disposal.

Should Andersen partner Guehi, the pair could prove the perfect counterbalance to each other. While both are accomplished with the ball at their feet, Guehi can cover Andersen in terms of pace and recovery speed, while Andersen, who stands at a towering 6ft 4, is more dominant in the air than Guehi.

With the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United mooted as potential destinations for Andersen this summer, Palace's capture of the Danish centre-back has been seen as a serious coup.

WHAT IS LEFT FOR PALACE TO DO THIS WINDOW?
Andersen's rumoured transfer fee could see him become the third most expensive signing made in Palace's history, but the summer business is still not over for Patrick Vieira's side.

The Eagles still have both domestic loans available, with Chelsea's Conor Gallagher the club's primary target. The midfielder, who spent last season on loan with West Bromwich Albion, might take a bit longer to secure due to his desire to impress Thomas Tuchel during pre-season.

Despite playing both pre-season friendlies against Walsall and Ipswich Town, the club are yet to announce whether Nathaniel Clyne has signed a new deal. With the injury to Nathan Ferguson, the club would be wise to re-sign Clyne or dive into the market for another right-back to support Joel Ward.

With the mass exodus of players at the beginning of the month, Palace still need several first-team bodies. It's also widely reported that Palace will look to bring in a forward who can play across the front three.

https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/the-lowdown-on-crystal-palace-transfer-target-joachim-andersen/

Great move for them. A bit surprised Spurs didn't go in for him though, natural replacement for Alderweireld. Also hearing they may put a bid in for Lookman.

Palace are doing some great business and could be one to watch this year. I'll be keeping an eye on them.

Craven Mad

Agreed - given Spurs' need for new CBs, especially with Alderweireld heading out the door, Andersen would be a great (and affordable) signing for them...
