Are we playing better football than we were under Tigana?

Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

A bit too early to judge but going to be a close  thing if we continue as we are currently.

The build-up is far quicker than it was under Tigana.  Some of the football we p0layed under him had certain similarities with Parkerball as we saw when we were promoted to the Premier League and teams found us fairly easy to play as we took so many passes to get from one end of the pitch to the other.  The best football I have ever seen played by a Fulham team was by Malcolm MacDonald's sid with Ray Harford as coach. A true joy to watch.

I actually didn't think that we played that well today, which when you consider that on paper today was our sternest test to date speaks volumes about this side and where it can go.

That said, it's still very, very early days. I'm loving it, but as ever, I am also being cautious about it.

Not sure about better than Tigana's side. It's more direct but that team really was quite something, and that was back when the entire division were made up of cloggers.

The Enclosurite

Bit early to say but Tigana's side were much more clinical in front of goal.

(crazy thing to say after a 3-0 win I know)

I loved watching that side and love watching this one - if we win this league I will say the question is a bit like "which of your children is your favourite?"

We're definitely much faster and more direct going forward than I can ever remember before. It's interesting that all the players I've seen interviewed have said that Silva has made everything simple, and easy to understand what he wants.

We're going to give someone a real hiding this season (I know we already scored 5 at Huddersfield.

What I'm seeing is player's enjoying their football..... every player knows his job, and doesn't have to look up to see if his team mate is there....... it's a true team effort

Luka

So a question within a question.
If we could of had Silva or Tigana in the seat last season, would we still be in the premier league this one ?

I think it's a very strong maybe !

Statto

I can recall that season but not enough about the football to compare it to this season

What I will say is the way Silva has got us playing is absolutely humiliating Parker. Whilst the manner of his exit pi$$ed me off, I would have been willing to accept he did a decent, 7/10 job... until watching us now and realising what a proper quality manager can achieve, such a stark contrast

Fernhurst

Similar teams both too powerful for the division they were/are playing in.

Can't wait to get back to the big league and draw Liverpool (with Elliot) in the first home game and give them a thoroughly sound beating.
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

Even if we aren't, I'm generally a bit pessimistic on my posts but don't have anything negative to say.

In the past, after an early goal, against an in form, combative side, we'd of sat back and soaked up pressure and wait for opportunities on the break. This side doesn't do that. It continues to press, continues to impress and has a quality and decisiveness I haven't seen in a while. At times patient, just certainly pushes the opposition even when taking some time off the ball. I'm so impressed by this side and find myself utterly confident that we'll finally have a decent shot at automatic positions even from a position in such a short space of time.....Very optimistic and absolutely loving this season.

I can't even think about that, the Tigana promotion team was amazing and my favourite period in my time as a fan, even trying to think about comparing this team I can feel a melt down coming on and reaching for the whiskey!!!

Holders

No. Tigana's side wore down and wore out the opposition by the passing then struck.

Early days and to me two different ways of playing as said above Tigana's side passed all day long but this team is just so direct and work so hard off the ball but they are alike inthe fact that they excite and that you are confident of the win and confident that we will create chances

Too many comments to put a +1 note to but H4 Usuallysitting gets a +2 comment for the best posting/assessment so far!

To early to tell, also one thing doing it in the championship another thing doing it in the PL- Tigana did both.

Tigana's team were better. It almost hadn't been done before. We won our first 11 games for a start. We will see at the end of the season as they say The table never lies.
