"Desperate"- Liverpool confident of landing 19-tear-old Championship sensation
Liverpool are confident in their pursuit of Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho
According to TEAMtalk (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are confident that they can lure Fabio Carvalho despite Fulham's desperation to hold onto the youngster.

Despite an injury-ridden start, the youngster's performance remains top-notch whenever he features for the Cottagers. This season he has scored three goals and provided one assist in seven games so far.

The young prospect has attracted eyes from some of the big European clubs seeking his talents. In the race to lure the youngster, Liverpool are joined by Benfica, Porto, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Monaco.

Liverpool board is confident about signing Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho.

It is believed that Fulham, by all means, want to hold onto the 19-years-old player. They have shown their interest in giving him a long-term deal, securing his future at the club.

A source told TEAMtalk (h/t Liverpoolecho) that they are desperate in their approach to keep hold of the 19-year-old. They are also aware that they face a fight on their hands to convince Carvalho to stay put.

"The club is desperate to keep hold of Fabio, and they are hopeful. But they realise he knows of the interest in him, and it won't be easy."

Fabio Carvalho has attracted the eyes of many big European clubs.

Fulham is a good side for Carvalho to gain more experience in. However, there is a ceiling that the Cottagers can offer him in terms of opportunities. A move to Liverpool could be just what he needs to take his development further.

Crystal Palace keen on Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Anguissa

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira reportedly wants to hijack Andre-Frank Anguissa's permanent move to Napoli.

Anguissa joined the Italian outfit on a season-long loan with an option to buy in the summer and has made nine appearances so far in Italy.

The Sun are reporting that former Arsenal midfielder Vieira is already looking to next summer and building his squad.

They add that the Whites will demand a fee of around £20million. Anguissa signed a contract extension. But they incorrectly state that price could come down because he will only have one year left on his contract after this campaign – in fact he signed an extension until the summer of 2024 before he was allowed to make his temporary exit at the end of the last transfer window.

The Eagles were reportedly interested in signing Anguissa in the summer, before he signed for Napoli.

It's time for Fulham to put this transfer wrangle to bed as Crystal Palace circle: Opinion

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is one of the main representatives of what has been a frustrating few years for Fulham.

The midfielder originally rocked up at Craven Cottage in 2018 with a growing reputation as the West London side splashed out almost £20 million to bring him in from Marseille.

However Anguissa went on to become a real scapegoat in the eyes of the Fulham faithful as he played a role as one of the main villains in the club's disastrous relegation from the Premier League that season.

As a consequence of that demotion back to the Sky Bet Championship, the Cameroonian international was quickly shipped out on loan to Spanish La Liga side Villarreal as the Whites slowly began to explore the possibility of offloading him once and for all.

However the midfielder didn't depart the club on a permanent basis and was soon back in Scott Parker's plans as Fulham once again returned to the top flight for the 2020/21 season.

This time they put up more of fight and Anguissa was also much more involved than in his first campaign in a white shirt as he played a part in 38 games across all competitions.

Alas Parker's side once again suffered the same fate and as a result both manager and said player departed Craven Cottage during the summer just gone.

This time around Anguissa has been sent on loan to Italian giants Napoli, with the Serie A side having negotiated an option to buy the 25-year-old if he performs to the required standards for them this term.

He has since gone on to become a regular under Luciano Spalletti at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and has already earned rave reviews for his performances.

This has almost simultaneously led to interest being drawn in from elsewhere, with Crystal Palace recently being touted as a potential destination due to Patrick Vieira's admiration for the midfielder's skill set.

The path now for Fulham is clear, Anguissa simply must be sold as soon as possible in order to recoup some if not all of the money that was paid for him and to avoid any further embarrassment over a saga that has gone on for far too long.

Anguissa himself is seemingly uncommitted to the cause and as a result of this the Whites must start to make plans to offload him in order to not only open up wages to be used to bring new players into the football club but also to get some sort of return on their investment.

The midfielder's situation is as peculiar they come, especially as he has obvious potential to excel, but Fulham should not be drawn into making the same mistake again by affording him another chance in SW6.

Burnley U23 1-2 Fulham U23

Fulham Under-23s secured another three points on the road after defeating Burnley Under-23s 2-1 on Monday evening.

A seventh successive victory in all competitions for Steve Wigley's side came after goals from Matt Dibley-Dias and Luciano D'Auria-Henry.

It was a much-changed line-up from the one that faced Middlesbrough Under-23 at the beginning of the month, with international call-ups taking away a number of squad players from selection. Jay Williams came into central defence with Idris Odutayo at left-back, whilst up front, Jean-Pierre Tiehi and Dibley-Dias led the front line.

It looked as though the young Whites had taken an early lead through a header from Williams, but the referee ruled out the goal for a foul.

The deadlock was broken after half-time when Sonny Hilton delivered a cross into the middle that was met by the head of Dibley-Dias who looped his effort over the oppositions 'keeper, netting a goal on the teenagers Under-23 debut.

The Clarets were able to bring the score back level again however when Michael Mellon rose highest from an in-swinging corner to head home the set-piece.

It was D'Auria-Henry to the rescue for the young Whites, who having only come off the bench six minutes earlier, found himself alone at the back post to finish the whipped cross in from Marlon Fossey.

The result not only means that our Under-23s are on a seven game winning streak across all competitions, but they are sitting at the top of the Premier League 2 Division 2 table, seven points clear of West Brom Under-23s.

Fulham U23: Fabri, Williams, Odutayo, McAvoy, Fossey, Steven Sessegnon, Dibley Dias (Robinson 88'), Hilton, Bowie (Sanderson 80'), Pajaziti, Tiehi (D'Auria-Henry 62')

Subs: Lanquedoc, Sanderson, Robinson, McNally, D'Auria-Henry

All our winning streaks since Tigana's 11 in a row
Rhys takes a look at each run of three or more consecutive victories since Jean Tigana arrived in SW6.

Since Jean Tigana replaced caretaker duo Karl-Heinz Riedle and Roy Evans in the Craven Cottage dugout back in 1999, Fulham have won more than two consecutive league fixtures on 17 occasions. We can define those as "winning streaks".

The first run came instantly after the legendary former France midfielder was appointed boss, beginning with a win over Crewe Alexandra in early August and ending more than two months later with a draw against Wolves.

Although the bulk of campaigns since then have come in the top-flight, it might come as a surprise to recall that Marco Silva's men are currently on Fulham's best run for over 20 years.

Beginning with the aforementioned form, we have taken a deeper look at the short periods in which Fulham have looked unstoppable – including a fine run of three point returns during Slavisa Jokanovic and his 23 undefeated.

August to October 2000 – Jean Tigana
A run defined by: Louis Saha
Number of consecutive victories: 11

Wins over: Crewe, Birmingham, Stockport, Norwich, Barnsley, Burnley, Forest, Gillingham, Bolton, Blackburn and Crystal Palace.

Jean Tigana led Fulham to 11 consecutive league victories on his arrival in West London, cementing his side's place at the top of the table from fixture two until the end of the season.

With Louis Saha, Barry Hayles and Luis Boa Morte proving too hot to handle for first division defenders, Maik Taylor, Steve Finnan, Kit Symons and Chris Coleman were part of a robust defensive line.

Fulham fired home 31 goals across their 11-match winning run, conceding only six.

Notable wins were 5-1 over Barnsley and 3-0 over Gillingham, with the run coming to an end with a goalless draw against Wolves.

The outcome? Fulham would go on to be promoted into the Premier League at the first time of asking under Tigana, winning 30 of their 46 fixtures and losing on only five occasions.

October to November 2001 – Jean Tigana
A run defined by: Steed Malbranque

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: Southampton, West Ham and Newcastle

Fulham wouldn't have to wait long for another winning run, putting together a string of three triumphs across their 10th, 11th and 12th fixtures back in the top flight.

While not quite as eye-catching as their 11 during the previous season, our results in the Premier League since have shown just how rare that sort of form can be.

Following a run of just one victory across nine league outings, a narrow win over Southampton at Loftus Road sparked the start of three wins on the bounce, which would end as an eight-game unbeaten spell.

Fulham would go on to finish 13th in the table, as well as reaching the FA Cup semi-finals.

April 2006 – Chris Coleman
A run defined by: Luis Boa Morte

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: Charlton, Wigan and Manchester City.

Fulham would go three full seasons without posting another three-match winning run in the Premier League, ending that period under the guidance of Chris Coleman at the end of the 2005/06 campaign.

Fulham had battled hard to keep their place in the division under the former Wales defender, winning 10 times across 33 fixtures before their end of season run of good form.

Having beaten Chelsea, drawing with Aston Villa and then losing to Portsmouth, Fulham would secure narrow victories against each of Charlton, Wigan and Manchester City.

With Boa Morte and Malbranque both scoring twice across the three fixtures, Fulham would go on to finish an impressive 12th in the table.

April to May 2008 – Roy Hodgson
A run defined by: Danny Murphy

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: Manchester City, Birmingham and Portsmouth.

Who could forget this one? At the culmination of what had been a dismal season during which Fulham seemed to be heading for relegation, Roy Hodgson etched his name into our hearts by reviving a team that looked dead and buried.

Fulham won only five times across 35 fixtures to sit 19th in the table going into the final three games of the season, and found themselves 2-0 behind, and set to be mathematically relegated, at the break against City.

With heroics from Diomansy Kamara and Danny Murphy's penalty rebound turning the fixture on its head, the impossible was made realistic by the subsequent 2-0 win over Birmingham.

Only three points on the final day would guarantee survival, and it was Murphy who headed home from a Jimmy Bullard free-kick at Fratton Park to secure safety.

February to March 2012 – Martin Jol
A run defined by: Pavel Pogrebnyak

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: Stoke, QPR and Wolves.

Fulham ended another long run without three consecutive Premier League victories during the 2011/12 campaign – amazingly not doing it even once on the way to a seventh-place finish in 2008/09.

Fulham brought in Jol following the departure of the ambitious future QPR boss Mark Hughes, and a steady first season under the Dutchman led to a ninth placed finish.

Following two wins from seven fixtures across an unforgiving Christmas period, Fulham would bounce back from a 3-0 defeat against Manchester City with a 2-1 victory at home against Stoke.

This period could well be the finest fixtures in Pavel Pogrebnyak's career, who built on his debut strike against Stoke with the only goal of the game against QPR and a treble against Wolves.

April 2016 – Slavisa Jokanovic
A run defined by: Ross McCormack

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: MK Dons, Preston and Cardiff.

Since the last run of three consecutive league victories, Fulham had been relegated to the Championship and flirted with another to League One before the arrival of Slavisa.

While Kit Symons had briefly brought smiles back to Craven Cottage, it would be under the Serbian where FFC would push on to become promotion challengers in his first full campaign.

Following a run of just two victories across 14 matches after he assumed head coach duties, Jokanovic oversaw narrow wins over MK Dons, Preston and Cardiff.

Fulham would climb from 21st to 17th with those nine points, and end up finishing 20th.

February 2017 – Slavisa Jokanovic
A run defined by: Lucas Piazon and Tom Cairney

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: Wigan, Forest, Bristol City.

Following another turbulent start to a Championship season, Fulham would find a run of form that forced them into play-off contention during the midway stage of the 2016/17 season.

February victories over Wigan, Forest and Bristol City kickstarted a fine run of 11 wins from the closing 17 fixtures of the Championship season, with another winning run to follow.

Lucas Piazon and Tom Cairney both netted twice across these three fixtures, with back-to-back 3-2 victories followed by a routine outing at Ashton Gate.

April 2017 – Slavisa Jokanovic
A run defined by: Stefan Johansen

Number of consecutive victories: 4

Wins over: Ipswich, Norwich, Aston Villa and Huddersfield

Fulham really hit their stride under Jokanovic as the race to finish inside the top six got hotter in early 2017, and it was this run of wins that forced them above seventh for the first time since August.

Fulham bounced back from losing 4-2 at Derby to smash home more than three goals in each of their next four fixtures, securing 12 points in the process.

3-1 wins over each of Ipswich, Norwich and Aston Villa were followed by 4-1 at Huddersfield, with Fulham going on to come up short against Reading in the play-off semi-finals.

December to April 2018 – Slavisa Jokanovic
First run defined by: Ryan Sessegnon and Oliver Norwood's penalty

Number of consecutive victories: 5

Wins over: Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Burton, Barnsley and Forest

Second run defined by: Aleksandar Mitrovic

Number of consecutive victories: 4

Wins over: Norwich, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Reading

Third run defined by: Aleksandar Mitrovic

Number of consecutive victories: 4

Wins over: Ipswich, Norwich, Aston Villa and Huddersfield

A triple-header to celebrate 23, 23 undefeated. A run in which Fulham won 18 matches across an invincible streak that lasted from December 23 until the final day of the season.

Three games into that their spell, Fulham went on a run that included wins over Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Burton, Barnsley and Forest, and won another four after two draws from three outings.

Victims in the second run were Wolves, Derby, Sheffield United and Preston, with further triumphs over Norwich, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Reading coming after a draw with QPR.

Fulham would book their return to the top-flight with a win over Aston Villa at Wembley despite final day defeat against Birmingham.

April 2019 – Scott Parker
A run defined by: Ryan Babel

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: Everton, Bournemouth and Cardiff

A dismal Premier League season was given a fleeting moment of joy by Scott Parker immediately after relegation back to the Championship was confirmed.

Fulham beat Everton, Bournemouth and Cardiff across April of 2019, before ending the season with defeats against Wolves and Newcastle.

Too little too late? Yes.

August 2019 – July 2020 – Scott Parker
First run defined by: Championship Barcelona

Number of consecutive victories: 3

Wins over: Blackburn, Huddersfield and Millwall.

Second run defined by: Aleksandar Mitrovic

Number of consecutive victories: 4

Wins over: Birmingham, QPR, Derby and Swansea

Third run defined by: Harry Arter and Josh Onomah

Number of consecutive victories: 4

Wins over: QPR, Birmingham, Forest and Cardiff

Another promotion season, this time under the guidance of Parker, with a Fulham side who failed to really excite supporters until the final few months of the campaign.

2019/20 saw three winning runs of more than two league fixtures, the first coming with triumphs over Blackburn, Huddersfield and Millwall after opening day defeat to Barnsley.

Fans would have to wait until November for the next streak, beating Birmingham, QPR, Derby and Swansea, before three consecutive losses brought us back down to earth.

The final run would be the most important, with maximum points against QPR, Birmingham, Forest and Cardiff ending in a fourth-placed finish and eventual play-off final victory over Brentford.

August to November 2021 – Marco Silva
First run defined by: Fabio Carvalho

Number of consecutive victories: 4

Wins over: Huddersfield, Millwall, Hull and Stoke

Second run defined by: Aleksandar Mitrovic

Number of consecutive victories: 6 and counting

Wins over: QPR, Cardiff, Forest, West Brom, Blackburn and Peterborough.

Marco Silva has already overseen two memorable winning runs during his 17 league fixtures as Fulham boss, with a total of 12 victories giving him a win ratio of 70% domestically.

Following the opening day draw against Middlesbrough, Fulham brushed off challenges from Huddersfield, Millwall, Hull and Stoke to take an early lead at the top of the table.

After scoring 12 goals and conceding only two during those four fixtures, Silva's men would lose three of their next six outings, before hitting full stride.

Going into the current international break, Fulham have won six consecutive Championship fixtures, smashing home 21 goals and conceding only once against QPR, Cardiff, Forest, West Brom, Blackburn and Peterborough.

With fixtures on the horizon against Barnsley, Derby and Preston before a showdown against Parker's Bournemouth, could Fulham be top by December?

The Sean Davis Column

West Brom feels like a long time ago now, but what a win that was. Some might argue that it was a dubious penalty we were awarded, and of course the second was put on a plate for us, but we'll take it. To play someone like West Brom, who will be right up there this season, and put them to the sword like that, is a real statement of intent. We were at home so you'd fancy us with home advantage, but you've still got to do the business. The team looked eager, hungry, and up for the battle, and completely deserved the 3-0 win.

It would have been a hard one for West Brom to take as well, as they lost ground on us. When you lose against teams in and around you it hurts more. It was on Sky, it was a big game, and we ran out convincing winners. It was a super victory. To keep a clean sheet as well was great. The back four and the midfield worked tirelessly to try and prevent goals and will take such pride in keeping a clean sheet against one of the top sides in the division. You ask any defender, keeping a clean sheet is like scoring a goal to them.

Blackburn had won a couple in a row ahead of our game, but the way we'd been playing I think it was only a matter of time before we blew someone away. The fans' song for me used to be "Who put the ball in the Blackburn net?" but I'm not sure they can sing that anymore seeing as the answer now is everyone! We were absolutely ruthless at Ewood Park. It was a joy to watch, and also gives us that extra boost in terms of goal difference which is never a bad thing.

I was pleased for Rodrigo Muniz to come on and bag a brace, as he's had to be very patient. He'll have been over the moon at coming on and scoring a couple of goals. It keeps that pressure on Mitro which can only be a good thing. I really like Muniz, he's such an athletic player and has a great eye for goal. I enjoyed his samba rhythms down at the same end I scored at 20 years earlier, but he's got a long, long way to go if he's going to hit my levels of shape making! I was Metropolitan Dance Champion three years in a row, so I'll happily offer Rodrigo some lessons if he likes.

As good as the Blackburn win was, for me the more pleasing one was the 1-0 away at Peterborough. I don't know if the Manager would agree, but I'd be inclined to think he's maybe more satisfied with that one. After winning 7-0, the next team you play is going to be super defensive and organised, so to come away from that one with three points was fantastic. For me as a player, those matches where you really had to grind it out were the most satisfying ones. Peterborough haven't got the biggest budget in the league, but they've shown this season on many occasions that it's a tough place to go.

Mitro has hit 20 goals already and we're barely into November. I've never seen anything like it. He's genuinely on fire. Sharing a dressing room with him and seeing that confidence, the players will know that if they can get good balls into the area, then he will hurt teams. He's always been a hungry player, but this season he looks ravenous. A new manager coming in seems to have done him the world of good, the team are playing to his strengths, he's signed a new deal, he's happy at the Club. All that bodes well, and hopefully he can go on and break all sorts of records. That said, I'm sure his main focus is the team winning the title.

We'll probably see Barnsley bring in a new manager over the international break, so they will be looking for a bounce when they come to the Cottage on Saturday week. Players always find an extra yard when a new man comes in, as it's a fresh start for them, a new chance to prove themselves. But I think if we keep doing what we have been over the last few weeks, we'll have too much for them.

Stansfield earns England U20 call-up

Fulham forward Jay Stansfield has been called up to England's under 20 squad after the Leeds striker Joe Gelhardt pulled out through injury.

The former Exeter striker scored one and made another for England's under 20s in a 3-0 win over the Czech Republic last month. The teenager has been in terrific form for Fulham's under 23 side so far this season, scoring three times in five appearances for Steve Wigley's side, as the young Whites have surged to the top of the table. Stansfield also scored his first senior goal in the first team's League Cup win over Birmingham City back in August.

England play Portugal in Leiria on Thursday, kicking off at 5pm.

Transfer News: Tottenham show interest in 19-year-old Fulham youngster
Tottenham Hotspur eye Fulham prospect Fabio Carvalho amidst interest from Premier League clubs

According to TEAMtalk (h/t Yorkshire Post), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in securing the services of the Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho amidst interest from several other Premier League clubs.

The 19-year-old is one of the brightest prospects in the Championship and has attracted interest from several top-flight sides. He has scored three goals while providing an assist from seven matches in the second division for the Cottagers so far.

Tottenham are said to be leading the race to sign the Fulham starlet alongside Liverpool and Southampton. West Ham United and Leeds United are the two other clubs who are keeping tabs on the player.

Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho has attracted interest from the Premier League. (Credit: Fulham)

The Englishman has a contract with his current club till the end of the 2021-22 season and will become a free agent in the summer. He is also said to have rejected a "huge" contract offer recently, which could mean the end of his time with the Cottagers.

Last week, it was mentioned that Spanish giants Real Madrid are also interested in the attacking midfielder. Marco Silva's side could look towards the January transfer window to get a fee for the talented ace or risk losing him on a free next summer.

The midfielder is expected to change his agents in the winter transfer window, according to The Athletic, a week ago. It was also suggested that the Whites were keen to tie him down on a new contract, having got the backing from the manager and the owners.

As the likes of Dilan Markanday, a Spurs youth prospect, plays in a similar position to Carvalho, it could be a hindrance to him in his development. Daniel Levy would need some convincing to do to influence the midfield star to join our club.

Can Fulham Get Automatic Promotion

With a third of the 2021-22 Championship season behind us it is a good time to take stock of where Fulham is and what it might be able to achieve over the remainder of the season.

Fulham is having its best season since winning the league in 2000-01 when they started with 11 straight wins. That year Fulham earned 101 points with a 10 point margin over second place. In 2021 Fulham is still six points behind where 2000 Fulham was at this point in the season, but Fulham is nine points ahead of where they were in 2019 and 18 points ahead of where they were in 2017 when they eventually missed automatic promotion by just 2 points. This season is clearly the first in a long time that Fulham can reasonably talk about automatic promotion before January.

Looking back at the history of automatic promotion since that 2000-01 season, we can see some clear patterns. The average number of points for the league winner is 94 and every team that earned 94 points or more has won the league. The average point total for second place is 88 points and only twice has a team not earned automatic promotion if they reached 88 points (one of them was Fulham 2017-18). If this season follows historical norms, then 94 points and 88 points are good targets for Fulham.

With 17 matches complete Fulham has earned 38 points and is on pace to reach 103 points for the season. Fulham is currently earning an average of 2.24 points per match, but could drop to as low as 1.93 points per match and still reach the goal of 94 points at the end of the season. Fulham could earn just 1.72 PPM for the remainder of the season and still reach 88 points. With those numbers it is clear that Fulham has put itself in a very strong position to earn automatic promotion or to even win the league.

However, Fulham is not operating in a vacuum, they must also beat out the other teams competing for automatic promotion. Bournemouth has an even better PPM than Fulham at 2.35 PPM. West Brom is barely off the average PPM needed to reach 88 points. Coventry isn't too far off either. What is most likely to happen is that Bournemouth or Fulham will not be able to maintain their current pace for the remainder of the season. This is not unusual. Teams that start the season well are often the ones that had good fortune with injuries and caught a couple breaks along the way too. Other teams will make adjustments with managers or bring in new players over the transfer window (ex: Mitrovic 2017-18) or just start catching a few breaks.

I'm biased of course, but I feel like Fulham is better situated than Bournemouth to keep the current pace going. One reason is that Fulham's margin of error is less than Bournemouth's when it comes to getting wins since Fulham has had far fewer close wins. Six of the Cherries' wins were by just a goal while Fulham has had only two wins with a one goal margin. Bournemouth also has a more challenging list of matchups to close out the first half of the season. They will face three teams currently in the playoff spots and just two in the bottom half of the table. Meanwhile Fulham will face just one team in the playoff spots (Bournemouth) and face four in the bottom half of the table.

I also feel like that Fulham has already gotten through some rough spots - Tete's injury, Carvalho's injury/illness, Cairney's injury, Tosin's suspension (one more to go on that). Fulham has the potential to improve from the state that they were in for much of the first third of the season. The bench has been deep enough that these setbacks have not prevented Fulham from being successful. That leaves Fulham with more future potential upside than Bournemouth.

Things are looking good for Fulham to make a run for winning the league, but the word Fulhamish exists for a reason. I won't be surprised if Fulham becomes the first team to finish with 94 points and NOT win the league. Of course, that would still probably mean a second place finish with automatic promotion and I'd be okay with that.

Crystal Palace: Vieira plots move for Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira is reportedly plotting to hijack midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's move to Napoli.

What's the story?

The 25-year-old moved to the Italian giants on loan for Fulham with an option to buy over the summer amid interest from the Eagles, but Vieira is hoping to persuade him to join the capital club at the second time of asking.

According to The Sun, the French tactician is still frustrated at his failed attempts to sign Anguissa in the previous window, although he hasn't given up hope of adding the Cameroon international to his ranks.

The report states that: "The Eagles boss is still smarting that he failed to land Anguissa, 25, last summer when Serie A Napoli stepped in to take him and also offered an option to buy from Fulham.

"However, Vieira hopes he can persuade his money men to go big next time and land the powerful all-action star."

It goes on to state that Fulham are hoping to receive a £20m fee for Anguissa's services, although with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2022, they could settle for significantly less.

Vieira plots Crystal Palace move

Since moving to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in June, Anguissa has been one of the standout performers in Sere A, playing a pivotal part in Napoli's rise to the top of the table.

As per WhoScored, the tough-tackling midfielder has averaged two tackles per league game, 1.1 interceptions and 1.3 clearances for Luciano Spalletti's charges.

But he's also heavily contributed to the Azzurri's attacking play as well. In his ten top-flight appearances, Anguissa has averaged 0.9 key passes, a whopping 2.3 dribbles and a 91.5% passing accuracy.

His eye-catching displays on Italian shores have caught the eye of several impressed onlookers, including his manager.

"That kind of physicality and stamina is normal in the Premier League, whereas in Italy we tend to favour other characteristics. We were lacking that aspect at Napoli, so he stands out here," said Spalletti.

"He always comes into the locker room and talks about what happened in the first half, what was going on around his position, paying close attention to the movements that the opposition do. He is very tactically intelligent."

With on-loan midfielder Conor Gallagher potentially departing at the end of the campaign in order to return to parent club Chelsea, the £47,000-per-week Anguissa could be the ideal replacement. With that in mind, they must secure his services.
