Bertie Auld RIP

Lion of Lisbon Bertie Auld has died aged 83.

Bertie may be more familiar to senior FOF for decking the Maestro.  The incident occurred on 21st December 1963 at St Andrews.  Haynes and Auld were sent off.  Various accounts suggest that Maurice Cook was also punched to the ground and or that Auld had tackled a Fulham player who left the pitch on a stretcher.

Apparently according to my Fulham annual the Maestro's sending off was the first for a Fulham player for 25 years

Condolences to his family, however, never forgave him for laying hands on our Maestro.
