Oh dear, the ever reliable Norwood in midfield for Sheffield United tonight. You can be sure he will have a good game especially if Reed is not fit enough to play and tight mark him.
Possible headline tomorrow "Norwood hits late winner against old club". Please let that be no more than a bad dream.

That and Foderingham, in goal, playing a blinder against his old club....

Oliver Norwood speaks out ahead of Sheffield United's clash v Fulham tonight

Sheffield United will face off against Fulham in the Championship tonight, with the Blades no doubt desperate to see off the Cottagers despite their league positioning.

Oliver Norwood certainly believes that his side are capable of beating their high-flying opposition tonight too, as he told The Star that the Championship is an unpredictable league – and that means that his side could certainly bag the three points.

The Bramall Lane outfit started the campaign slowly and it ultimately resulted in them parting ways with their manager. Now led by Paul Heckingbottom, they are hoping that there can be a push up the table in the second half of the campaign.

The side have certainly been playing some better football under their new manager and are currently unbeaten in their last four games to boot. They've even managed to hold Coventry to a draw and have only conceded two goals in their last three games to boot.

It means that Sheffield United are in good form going into the Fulham game – and Norwood certainly feels that his side can claim another solid result in the Championship against the Cottagers.

Their opposition are led by Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is on fire in the league too. However, Norwood has claimed to The Star that he doesn't pay attention to the form of the opposition – and that anyone can beat anyone in the second tier.

He said: "You see in the Championship every week, bottom beats top.

"It's just the Championship, I wouldn't like to try and bet on any games because you never know what's going to happen."

Norwood has been a mainstay in the side this year and the midfielder has helped lead his side to some superb victories – and he'll be hoping to do similar again in the Fulham game.

The Verdict

Oliver Norwood is right in his thinking – anyone can certainly beat anyone in the Championship.

You would certainly fancy Fulham in this game, considering how incredible both Mitrovic and the rest of the squad have been so far this season. That isn't to say that they can't claim the points though, as United have themselves been impressive.

The Blades have also been on a good run of form recently, so it will be an intriguing clash to watch. Heckingbottom will fancy continuing his current run and his side are well-equipped to at least claim something from the Fulham game.

If they can get the likes of Norwood and Morgan Gibbs-White on form and scoring, then they can certainly claim a good result against the Cottagers.

Lee Bowyer reveals what 'drives me crazy' as Birmingham City prepare for daunting Fulham test

Birmingham City are next in action against Championship leaders Fulham on Boxing Day, a fixture fraught with risk for Blues

Lee Bowyer has warned his Birmingham City players they have to sort out the defensive issues that saw them ship four goals at Blackburn Rovers.

Blues ' head coach is mindful of the fact he has to take his team to Championship leaders Fulham this weekend, where they will face the league's most potent attack - and leading scorer.

A repeat of the sloppiness which cost them at Ewood Park would only produce one result and Bowyer called for a response.

"We have to improve as a group, we win together, we lose together, we know what wasn't good enough there so we have to do better," he told Blues TV.

"You go two ways, you either accept it or make sure it doesn't happen again next week. We can't perform like that against Fulham because there will be more goals.

"We have to put it right, we will work hard during the week to make sure when we turn up at Fulham that doesn't happen again.

"The players have to take a bit of pride in themselves as well sometimes – we need to put that right for next week.

"[It's] The same personnel in the same system – that's what drives me crazy because I think how can you have 10 clean sheets but then defend on another day like that?

"I always say the defending starts from the top, then goes through the middle of the park, can you defend the defenders? Help them out? But their [Blackburn's] movement up top was very good.

"We warned them, they will have to learn and make sure those type of things don't happen again.

"There has to be a response, we have to go there, believe we can win. When we played Fulham at our place it was a good game.

"We created lot of chances when we played them last, hopefully we can take some."

For all Blues' invention when the sides met at St Andrew's in September, the visitors still ran out 4-1 winners, a result that signalled an end to Blues' bright start to the campaign.

Watch Albion PL2 v Fulham PL2 LIVE!

Ethan Ingram is keen to end the year on a high by helping Albion's PL2 side secure a morale-boosting result against top-of-the-table Fulham on Monday night (ko 7pm).

*For information on tonight's live stream, please scroll to the bottom of the article.*

The Cottagers travel to the New Bucks Head full of confidence having lost just one of their 13 games in Premier League 2 Division 2 this term.

Nine points separate the young Baggies and their west London counterparts in the standings and after suffering defeat in their last outing in the Premier League Cup against AFC Bournemouth, Richard Beale's team will be keen to bounce back quickly.

But returning to winning ways is something Albion's youngsters have done regularly this campaign, doing so after each of their three league defeats, and England youth international Ingram is pushing his teammates to do the same again and take vital momentum into 2022.

"It's the last game of the year and we want to end it on a high," said Ingram.

"I've been happy with my performances so far this season and feel my involvement in first-team sessions has brought my game to a new level.

"The information you take in with the senior side is completely different, but it's been vital in my development and I've been able to take those things into games with the Under-23s this year.

"We know how dangerous Fulham will be. They're top of the league for a reason, but we're just behind them and Monday will be a great opportunity to test ourselves against a good side.

"They got the better of us last time, so there's added incentive to show them what we're capable of by taking three points.

"Hopefully we can get the win to make up ground and take momentum into the new year."
