FABIO CARVALHO is going nowhere this month in a blow to Liverpool and West Ham.

The two Premier League top four sides have been chasing the highly-rated winger who is out of contract at the end of the season.

But Championship Fulham are digging in and will steadfastly reject any firm bids for their latest teenage star.

That is even though they could end up losing him in the summer.

Carvalho, 18, has attracted interest from the top flight big guns.

He has had a run of exciting displays in Fulham's pursuit of promotion immediately back to the Premier League.


A source told SunSport: "Promotion back to the Premier League must be worth around £170 million to Fulham.

"No amount of money they could get for Fabio would be worth that if they sell him now."

Boss Marco Silva and the club are desperately trying to persuade him to sign a new long term deal and continue his footballing education at Craven Cottage.

We aren't going to sell any players to fellow yo-yo clubs, championship clubs don't have any money and   unless the price is very high (eg Ryan Sess) TK prefers to keep our premier league quality players a bit longer rather than offload them.

He's a purple patch kind of player, sort of like James Maddison but not at that level. They probably have to sell him but I don't see him improving us unless fabio leaves.

Fulham have joined the race to sign Derby County's Tom Lawrence.

It has been revealed by Teamtalk that the league leaders are interested in bringing in the Rams' club captain.

Fulham are facing a battle of their own to keep Fabio Carvalho, with multiple Premier League clubs reportedly circling around the 19-year old.

Fulham see Lawrence as a replacement for the out of contract playmaker. Lawrence himself is also out of contract at the end of the season.

However, Fulham face competition for the 28-year old, with Wolves, Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley and Newcastle all keen on the player.

Lawrence has been a key player in Derby's recent good form. He has scored seven goals and earned three assists so far in the Championship season.

I was referring to fringe players

True, but if Stef Jo is only worth £600k, then fringe players are worth even less and barely worth offloading. Christie could have been offloaded for a tiny fee, but once Tete got injured he stayed around as cover for Dennis Odoi.

But to stay in The Premier we once again needs to strengthen our defence.

Not convinced, Mitro has historically not performed in the prem how he does at this level. Much as I love him , his mobility often hinders him against premier league teams. Kebano is another who hasnt ever quite made delivered consistently at the top...hes been in blinding form but I just think he lacks that little bit of composure to make it at the top. Wilson could step up potentially but its no guarantee. Fab looks capable, but still young - Cairney looks back to his best BUT again has never delivered at the top.

So to me I'd still want a starting quality LW and a challenge for Wilson at RW and unless they feel very confident that if Mitro fails  Muniz and Stansfield can compete adequately I wouldn't be adverse to a good striker coming in that would allows us to loan out Stan or Muniz.
I'm more comfortable with our CAM options for now.

CM I think we're good between Seri - Reed - Cairney - Chalobah and potentially even Anguissa at this rate.

CB we need a top CB ala Joachim Anderson.
LB I'd like to move on Bryan, he deserves a team that uses him. Wouldnt be adverse to Aina tbf thought he did well there.
GK I'd be happy for Rodak to get his chance... but IF Areola was at all tempted and Fabianski isnt retiring just yet Id go all out (unlikely though)
RB it's probably time to have a better backup to Tete. (Aina again is agood swap for Odoi - whos become a club legend utility player in the Chris Baird mould by this point)
