Surprised when asked who his greatest January transfer was he went for Gareth McAuley at West Brom. I felt sure Brede would be his pick but he had already had an earlier mention when discussing his time managing Fulham.

I was at Brede's first game for us, on a freezing Jan. night at Bolton - a 0-0 draw, but a good away point, and you could immediately see how important Brede  would be for us, steadying the ship.
