... we have had" where is everyone going on their holidays? "I was wondering how do people spend their leisure hours and in particular what other forums are they a part of ? Football or non football.
I am a regular on the Polestar Forum ( endless source of information and tips ) and an infrequent visitor to the Fiat Panda owners forum
What about you ?

blingo

I'm not long back from Marrakesh and Agadir. Looking to either Cuba or Thailand / Cambodia/Vietnam later in the year. Will also have a few trips to the Algarve as its only a three and a half hour drive and makes a change. Apart from that, this is the only forum I post on, I'm not even on Facebook, but I do use wattsapp. I also (here we go)dance salsa and bachata three times a week and walk around 20,000 steps three days per week with a good friend of mine. I play golf badly. Not too bad for very close to 66 tears of age.

Woolly Mammoth

I stay away from forums apart from Fulham.
I spend a lot of my spare time when not working by weight training, sparing, self defence workouts, log rolling, dead lifting. keeping as fit as i can.
It is good to recharge our batteries for a while away from players diving, cheating, pretending to be hurt  and whinging at referees, they use to call it football. So there is not much to miss to be honest.

However one of my weaknesses these days is Captain Morgan's Rum.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

Lighthouse

In the last three or four years I have been a fan of Japanese Rock Bands. Especially Band Maid who have been going for nearly ten years. Great varied rock music for rock fans of a certain vintage. So that in turn has made me interested in Japan and so visit a few Japanese walking tour sites.

Money and the lack of it means I haven't been on holiday for well over 15 years or more. But then I can't say I have been that bothered by it.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Andy S

I volunteer for hospital radio at Radio Mount Vernon for a couple of hours a week. Have done that for over 40 years. It's good fun and meeting your listeners, the patients makes it the best radio you can be involved with. No adverts just you and the music. You can listen on 95.1 in the Northwood area or around the world via the Internet. There has to be a hospital radio station near you

HV71

Both Lighthouse and Andy S put me to shame .
Many of us , I' m sure , are retired , but sadly under very different circumstances . I am very lucky , I live between Dorking and Guildford but in the middle of no where . My gym ( a working cocker spaniel ) go out for two hours just after dawn ( currently about 5 am ) that keeps me relatively fit (in spite of chronic arthritis in most joints )  - I am lucky to have a large garden which I tend to myself and I cook. Have to keep stretching yourself - or it could - be all downhill in retirement. I love this forum as it helps me challenge my own (often bias ) thoughts. I posted because I think it helps to understand the rest of our community more " in the round ' when we are prepared to reveal more of our character.

Wingnut

I spend my evenings and weekends keeping fit (running and weights), and keeping my aquariums in good shape. Don't post on any other forums apart from this one.

I've always wanted to go to Marrakesh, but I've heard a lot of negative feedback about locals giving tourists hassle. A few seasoned tourists I know have vowed never to go back there. What did you make of it?
Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

SuffolkWhite

Blingo, what's Agadir like? We did Marrakesh a few years ago and it was an eye opener but also an adventure, you have to be a little Street wise I felt.
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

This is the only forum I'm on , I play chess , take my staffy for walks and immerse my self in abstract metal
Sculpture which is my passion , other than Fulham FC of course.

Wingnut....Marrakesh is  really nice, the market comes alive at night and is incredible. If you get anyone insisting on taking you anywhere, a very firm NO is enough 99% of the time. When I go I like a few days at the Royal Mansour, it's stunning and you can take your golf clubs, but its not cheap.

Suffolk, Agadir is a lovely place with a stunning beach, great for golfers too.

Both places as you would expect are geared towards tourism, but they still retain a lot of old world charm.

Andy S.......I take my hat off to you Sir.

Not on any social media, now I don't even need a smartphone as I used to use it for app work.... I follow the tide's for fishing and love a bit of cricket, but not at the same time

Logicalman

I'm one of those in my 60's that still keep working Full Time because when I emigrated at 40 I had to start from scratch again, so building up a good pension for retirement takes time.

Outside of work is FFC & this forum, cooking, the four pups, being a dad/granddad, and various home & programmng projects. Though the majority of any spare time is studying for additional credentials for my work, currently Snowflake & AWS. Just got back from a 4-day mini-break in NYC.

I am rarely on FB, sometimes on Twitter, generally SM is not worth bothering with imo, unless it's FoF!
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Mainly this Forum although I have Messenger for the free video phones to daughgters in the UK
Indeed.com when I'm looking for work and Next Door if I need any projects done, car work etc.
72 and still working 25 hours a week as a "maitre'd" in a very wealthy peoples senior living facilitiy,
Cedarfield in Richmond Virginia.
Late 70's i worked in Cadiz and went frequently to Ceuta, Gibraltar and Tangier.
Tips I learned,
1/. if you're in the market, walk fast (ish) as if you know directly where you're going and
when stopping to browse don't accept a cup of tea from a vendor, it's unlikely that you'll come away
about an hour later without buying some leather goods
2/. Don't take your own car, it's likely to be torn apart when returning to Algeciras, and the police
won't put it back again even if they don't find any house bricks of Blow.
3/. Beware of 5 year old kids, they are fluent in 10 languages and very persuasive in getting you
into the Casbah (market) and their commision from vendors.
4/. Never go with someone who is blonde, male or female, it's like fly's round a jam pot.
5/ Beware of most other ex-pats living there.  They are not your FRIENDS
6/. Good news, bartering is great fun.
7/. When I left Cadiz, me and a couple of mates bought 3/4 K of leather goods back to the UK
and did the markets. Great fun but did our brains.

In 1974/5 I worked in Iran (Ramsar Casino)  We got paid in cash (rials)
Each couple of weeks 4 of us used to get a taxi to Tehran and take a few thousand to a money
changer in the market, changed into pound notes (cash) for all of the 60 UK staff working in Ramsar.
Not as dangerous as it seems, the casino police had relatives who changed the money and got us a
good rate.
The most dangerous part was the journey back and forth through death defying mountains.
When we first got there a taxi ride to the town or beach was 5 rials each way.
When they realized how much money we were earning, within a week it jumped to 150.
Lovely people though.
VERY DAFT AND A LOT DAFTER THAN I SEEM, SOMETIMES

Oakeshott

Analysing Flat sprint handicaps (no clear winner in the two I've looked at today but I've had a small bet at 32.0 in one, Roundhay Park in the 7.16 Doncaster, now back to a winning handicap mark and likely to win this season but probably not today); working on the fourth and fifth in a series of love/adventure stories (as yet the first three in the series only published on Wattpad).

HV71

I supposed I shouldn't be surprised - but there are some amazing people on here who do , or have done very different things. It is great to get an insight into other peoples lives. So far much better than the conversations you get in the hairdressers or barbers ( not that I spend a lot of time these days being a slaphead! )

I have alerted the Constabulary so you should be expecting a visit from Plod anytime in the next 5 years taking into account their past record of swift response to crime associated issues.
You are very lucky you never admitted to feeding bread to the Ducks, you would be in custody already.
