Chelsea Put Fulham Target On Transfer Radar

Chelsea could make a move for Fulham target Thomas Strakosha if Kepa departs Stamford Bridge this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Lazio goalkeeper Strakosha is out of contract at the end of the month and has emerged as an attractive target for several sides.

Newly promoted Premier League side Fulham are keen on snapping up the 27-year-old to add to their goalkeeping options, but they could face competition from London rivals Chelsea.

Kepa, behind Edouard Mendy at Chelsea, could leave the club this summer as he looks to get his career back on track.

He cost Chelsea a huge £72m to sign from Spanish side Athletic Bilbao, but has struggled to convince between the sticks.

Kepa was Chelsea's number 1 in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 campaigns before then losing his place.

Strakosha meanwhile started last term as the number 2 at Lazio, providing cover for Pepe Reina, but started in every Italian league game from the start of December.

While joining Chelsea would be a high profile move for Strakosha, signing for Fulham could hand him more game time chances.

Crystal Palace in race to sign Zaidu Sanusi

Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Zaidu Sanusi, as they join a host of clubs such as Fulham and Brighton in the hunt for the left-back.

According to Jornal de Noticias, Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on Zaidu Sanusi as the London club ponder a summer move for the FC Porto left-back. There is further interest from Fulham and Brighton, as the race for the full-back could pick up heat.

Crystal Palace are keen on bringing in new players to continue building their squad. Patrick Vieira is ready to strengthen several positions, and the Londoners could speed up their activity with the window open.

Vieira is keen on a new holding midfielder while a new goalscoring midfielder could be on the agenda to fill the void left by Conor Gallagher's return to Chelsea.

Another position the manager is looking to bolster in the summer is the left-back slot. Crystal Palace has an outstanding player in Tyrick Mitchell. He excelled last season while also becoming a full England international. But bringing in a backup for the 22-year-old to decrease the pressure on him is something that Vieira is considering.

To that end, FC Porto star Zaidu Sanusi is being linked with a move to Palace as the club explore the opportunity to bring the 25-year-old Nigerian left-back. The Londoners face competition from Fulham and Brighton in this window, as both teams remain keen on the player.

Fulham are keen to bring Sanusi as Marco Silva continues to explore the Portuguese markets. The Cottagers want to bring in quality reinforcements to achieve their objective of remaining in the Premier League after returning to the top flight.

Meanwhile, Brighton may not have an immediate need for a left-back, but the requirement could emerge in this window. The Seagulls might lose Marc Cucurella to Manchester City or some other big club, with the Spanish defender high in demand among the elites.

Sanusi could be considered the ideal replacement for Cucurella, and the Nigerian could look forward to playing regularly under Graham Potter. However, Crystal Palace's interest could complicate the chase, as the chance of moving to London could be hard to turn down.

However, Sanusi is not likely to be open to playing second-fiddle to Mitchell at Selhurst Park next season. The Nigerian's goal clinched the League title for Porto last term, which confirmed their Champions League place.

So playing as a second-choice left-back at Crystal Palace may not appeal to Sanusi, who could be featuring regularly for Porto in the Champions League next season. Football transfers are unpredictable, though, and multiple other factors could pave the way for the Nigerian to join an English club this summer, with Crystal Palace in the reckoning.

Fulham's stance on potential move for 25-year-old defender becomes clearer

Fulham are not giving up in their pursuit of Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi, according to a report from Portuguese outlet Jornal de Noticias (as cited by Sport Witness).

It is understood that while the Cottagers are unwilling to match Porto's €20m (£17.3m) valuation of the defender, they will be willing to let time pass in the current transfer window.

By taking this particular approach, Fulham are hoping that the Azuis e brancos opt to lower their asking price.

A recent report from A Bola (via Sport Witness) revealed that the Cottagers have yet to submit an offer for Zaidu.

The left-back helped his side win the Liga Portugal Bwin title last season by making 24 appearances at this level.

Zaidu also featured for Porto in the Champions League and the Europa League.

Fulham will be aiming to draft in some fresh faces ahead of their return to the Premier League later this year.

The Cottagers cruised to promotion in the previous campaign under the guidance of Marco Silva who will now be determined to help the club achieve a relative amount of success in the top-flight.

Although Fulham have yet to make a signing this summer, they are currently closing in on sealing a deal for Manor Solomon.

The Verdict

When you consider that the Cottagers are currently able to call upon the services of Antonee Robinson and Joe Bryan, it is somewhat of a surprise that they have recently been linked with a move for another left-back.

However, if Silva doesn't believe that either of the aforementioned players will be able to tie down a regular spot in the club's starting eleven next season, he may opt to strengthen his options.

Whether Zaidu makes the switch to Craven Cottage remains to be seen as Fulham are seemingly prepared to wait in this pursuit.

If Fulham do end up splashing the cash on Zaidu, it may take the defender some time to adapt to life in the Premier League as he has never played in this division before.

Exclusive: Norwich City may rival Middlesbrough and Fulham for 29-year-old as West Ham exit looms

Norwich City have Ryan Fredericks on their radar this summer, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

Fredericks is leaving West Ham United this summer after featuring only seven times in the Premier League last season under David Moyes and seeing his contract expire.

There are a number of clubs interested in moving for the 29-year-old right-back ahead of 2022/23.

Sources have explained to Football League World that Norwich are one of those clubs as they put a plan in place for Max Aarons' departure, which is a scenario that could still develop this summer as Dean Smith prepares to lead the Canaries back into the Championship.

It's our understanding that Norwich have put Fredericks on their radar as a possible replacement for the highly-rated Aarons.

However, there's also interest in Fredericks from Middlesbrough, who are expected to be one of Norwich's challengers for promotion in the Championship under Chris Wilder. Fulham are another party credited with an interest – they are, of course, one of Fredericks' former clubs.

Fredericks started his career with Tottenham, before loans with Brentford, Millwall and Boro. After a brief stint with Bristol City, Fredericks moved onto Fulham, who he featured 114 times for across three seasons.

His form at Fulham prompted West Ham to move for the full-back's service, although the end of his four-year stay with the Hammers has now been confirmed.
