Newcastle transfer news: Fulham are interested in Jamaal Lascelles

Fulham reportedly want to sign Jamaal Lascelles from Newcastle this summer.

That's according to the Chronicle's Lee Ryder, who has named the newly promoted side as a possible suitor for the Magpies captain.

Nottingham Forest have also been linked, with the Athletic claiming that they're looking at possibly re-signing their former player.

That means two out of three teams heading up to the Premier League next season are interested in the 28-year-old. All we need is a 'Lascelles to Bournemouth' rumour for a full house.

Nottingham Forest return would make more sense

Both Fulham and Forest will be hoping to survive in the top flight next season. The latter will be playing in the Premier League for the first time since 1999, while the former has become something of a yo-yo club in recent years.

The Cottagers are just like Norwich – too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier League. However, they do have money to spend, which could boost their survival bid if they get their recruitment right.

Targeting Lascelles is smart. He's an established Premier League defender with experience of battling relegation. He's a leader too, having captained Newcastle ever since Rafa Benitez gave him the armband in 2016.

His physical presence could really benefit either Fulham or Forest, with his Toon teammates Dan Burn and Ryan Fraser describing him as the strongest player at the club.

While Fulham may feel better positioned to survive in the top flight, a return to Forest perhaps makes more sense.

He came through their academy and belongs to the area. A chance to return home after might be difficult to pass up.

Lascelles leaving Newcastle feels unlikely despite Fulham interest

Realistically, it feels unlikely that Lascelles will leave Newcastle this summer.

We're in the market for a left-sided centre-back, with Sven Botman the club's number one target. If he signs, he'll likely start alongside Fabian Schar.

That would leave Dan Burn and Lascelles in reserve, which is more than adequate enough backup.

The only way a Lascelles departure would feel more likely would be if the club brought in a second centre-back this summer. We speculated that Lascelles' Toon career would be over if Merih Demiral had arrived when he was linked last week.

For now there is Premier League interest in the skipper, but no bid to take him away from St James' Park.

Southampton 'make serious enquiry into signing Liverpool full-back Neco Williams' amid interest from Fulham, Nottingham Forest and PSV with the Reds 'willing to let the defender leave for £20m'

Southampton have made an approach for Liverpool defender Neco Williams
The full-back made just one top-flight appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side
But the Welshman impressed on loan at Fulham in the second half of the season
Williams will be eager to get minutes under his belt ahead of the World Cup

Southampton have reportedly made a 'serious' approach for Liverpool full-back Neco Williams.

The 21-year-old could leave Anfield in search of regular game time this summer amid interest from Fulham, Nottingham Forest, PSV Eindhoven and newcomers to the race Southampton.

Williams made just one appearance in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp's side last season and Liverpool are believed to be willing to let him leave for a package that adds up to £20million, according to Sky Sports.

Southampton have made a 'serious' approach for Liverpool full-back Neco Williams

With the defender's future at Anfield uncertain, the reports adds that Saints have made an inquiry into signing him.

Dutch side PSV have previously wanted to sign him on loan and are said to have also inquired this summer but the interest from Ralph Hasenhuttl's side is believed to be more serious.

However, both sides will face competition from Premier League new boys Fulham and Nottingham Forest.

The Welshman impressed on loan at Fulham during the second half of last season

Williams spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham and delivered a number of impressive performances to help the Cottagers gain promotion to the Premier League.

Williams has since returned to Anfield, but his chances of getting more game time have been dented by the Reds bringing in Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.

The Scottish teenager now looks set to provide back-up for Trent Alexander-Arnold moving forward, which could open the door for Williams to leave permanently.

A return to Fulham could be on the cards, while Forest are keen to entice him to the City Ground, potentially as a replacement for Djed Spence, who flourished on loan from Middlesbrough last term.

Williams is also said to have a long-standing relationship and admiration for Forest boss Steve Cooper.

All interested parties were handed a boost following reports Liverpool have told the Wales international that he can leave the club on a temporary basis this summer.

Williams will be looking for regular minutes next season in the build-up to the World Cup and the Reds are said to be willing to let him go out on loan to help increase his on-pitch time, rather than continuing to play second fiddle to Alexander-Arnold.

Williams helped Wales qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years by beating Ukraine in the play-offs earlier this month.

He is a pivotal part of Robert Page's team and is expected to start each of Wales' group games against England, Iran and the USA.

Exclusive: Newcastle turn transfer attention to Tosin Adarabioyo amid contract issue at Fulham

EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is looking to strengthen his defence and ex-Man City youngster Tosin has just one year left on his deal at newly-promoted Fulham

Newcastle are interested in Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

Toon Army boss Eddie Howe is keen to strengthen his defence this summer and has money to spend on his squad. Adarabioyo , 24, has one year left on his current deal at Craven Cottage and is attracting interest this summer as a result.

The towering centre half made the EFL and PFA Team of the Year last season for his performances at Fulham and has gained a reputation for being a strong defender but also composed on the ball. He started at Manchester City and that grounding helped before he was loaned to West Brom and Blackburn but has now been at Fulham for two years and will be important to their hopes for survival next season.

But the England prospect - he has played for his country from under-16 level up to the 19s - may now have other Premier League offers. Howe has always championed home grown talent and had a reputation at Bournemouth for improving young players and is already keen to do the same at Newcastle.

Despite their huge wealth, Howe's clever management suggested a slow, steady build to establish strong, lasting foundations. Dan Ashworth has come in as technical director, they are keen on Sven Botman and Hugo Ekitike while a move for Jesse Lingard is still going on in the background.

England star Lingard has left Manchester United, is a free agent and Newcastle have been one of the clubs heavily linked with the midfielder.

Jean Michael Seri meeting with Hull City owner Acun Ilicali to discuss Tigers move

The Ivory Coast international is discussing personal terms ahead of an expected free transfer switch to the MKM Stadium

Jean Michael Seri is meeting with Hull City owner Acun Ilicali in Istanbul today as the club look to close in on securing the services of the Ivory Coast international. Hull Live can also report that a rumoured rival bid for his services from Turkish team Galatasaray, who he spent a season on loan with in 2019/20, is understood to be inaccurate.

The 30-year-old midfielder has been high on the Tigers' wanted list ever since it became clear that he would be available this summer on a free transfer after departing last season's Championship title-winners Fulham. He is regarded as an important cog in a revamp of the central areas of the pitch at the MKM Stadium for 2022/23 with the captures of Ozan Tufun and Adama Traore from Turkish teams Fenerbache and Hatayspor respectively also expected to be ratified imminently.

The likes of Richie Smallwood and Tom Huddlestone, meanwhile, were both released by Tigers chief Shota Arveladze last month. With City having returned to Cottingham for pre-season training yesterday, Ilicali and Averladze will be keen to get new bodies into the building as soon as possible with the Championship campaign also kicking off a week earlier than normal on July 30 due to the World Cup finals being held in November and December.

Seri has been linked with a move to East Yorkshire throughout the close season but it appears now that, if he can agree terms with Ilicali today, then he will be wearing an amber-and-black shirt next term. That is likely to mean a significant wage cut, but the indications are that the Tigers expect to be able to thrash out a deal that will be deemed acceptable for club and player alike.

Featuring 33 times for the Cottagers in 2021/22, Seri will bring immediate knowledge of what is required to become a challenger in the higher reaches of a notoriously competitive division. With 42 caps at senior international level and 32 appearances for Fulham during the 2018/19 Premier League season under his belt, he is unlikely to be fazed by any test the Tigers might face next season too.

As recently as March, he was lining up against France and England for his country and, in 2019/20, he was facing the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League for Galatasaray. His pass completion rate of 89 per cent for Fulham last term would, meanwhile, make him a reliable starter of attacks from the base of a new-look City midfield.

Former Fulham, Bradford, Brighton, Norwich and QPR defender handed key Portsmouth Academy role
Pompey have appointed Liam Daish's replacement in their Academy set-up.

Former Fulham and QPR defender Zesh Rehman has become lead professional development phase coach, overseeing the under-18s.

Now Academy head Greg Miller has turned to Rehman to take over.

The 38-year-old's playing career involved appearing for Fulham in the Premier League as well as representing Norwich, QPR, Brighton, Bradford, Gillingham and Blackpool.

He also featured in leagues in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Rehman possesses the distinction of becoming the first British Asian to start a Premier League game, while the Birmingham-born centre-half represented Pakistan 25 times.

In recent years he has served as player-manager at Hong Kong Premier League club Southern.

Rehmen announced his arrival on Twitter on Monday evening, earning a warm welcome from Pompey fans.

In addition, former players Robbie Fowler, Richard Shaw and Jason Pearce were among those to congratulate him on social media following the news.

Pompey's Academy is undergoing change under Miller at present as he bids to restore a production line which was previously prolific.

Following the departure of Sean O'Driscoll, James Barlow was promoted to the role of head of coaching in February.

The much-respected Jon Slater retired as the Blues' long-serving head of education and welfare at the season's end.

However, he will remain on hand to help out on occasions, which is appreciated by the club.

In terms of emerging Academy playing talent, last season saw promising pair Toby Steward and Harry Jewitt-White handed first-year professional terms.

While Alfie Bridgman and Dan Gifford became third-year scholars as they continue to impress during development.

It's a welcome sight, with the Academy of late suffering a lull, culminating with all second year and third-year youngsters controversially leaving Fratton Park in the summer of 2021.

Fulham to make Neco Williams move as Liverpool seek £15m

Neco Williams has been much talked about in recent days and weeks as interest in his signature hots up, and Fulham have long been considered favourites for the defender.

As the likes of Nottingham Forest and Southampton register their interest, Fulham look poised to make their move for the young Welshman.

Williams spent the second half of last season on loan with Marco Silva's side, quickly making an impression and amassing 15 appearances as Fulham secured promotion back to the Premier League.

It's where Williams has been vocal about plying his trade on a regular basis and that Fulham can offer him that will add to the appeal of the move, no doubt.

And Goal's Neil Jones has now reported that Fulham "are set to make their move" and land the 21-year-old in a permanent deal, with an official offer expected this week.

Liverpool are eyeing a deal worth up to £15 million, which you will expect to include realistic add-ons, a fee that is sizeable for a young full-back and a newly promoted side.

Williams does come with vast senior experience for club and country, with 68 combined appearances since he made his Liverpool debut in the dramatic League Cup penalty shootout win over Arsenal in October 2019.

And it is this experience he is eager to add to, especially in a World Cup year that saw Wales qualify for the first time since 1958.

The arrival of Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen ensures Liverpool have their next Trent Alexander-Arnold deputy all wrapped up, and now all that remains is to confirm Williams' next career journey.

The 21-year-old has been with the club since he was six and their desire for up to £15m is another nod to the talent that has come out of the academy.

And he is not to be the only young face set for a new environment next season, although the likes of Conor Bradley, Owen Beck, Paul Glatzel, Leighton Clarkson, Rhys Williams and Sepp van den Berg are to all make a loan switch rather than have a permanent farewell.

Report: Fulham rival Nottingham Forest for Newcastle star Jamaal Lascelles

Nottingham Forest face competition for Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles from Championship winners Fulham, according to Chronicle Live.

The Cottagers find themselves in the same boat as Forest trying to sign players who can come in and perform in the Premier League.

Lascelles certainly fits that criteria. He's been at Newcastle since 2015 when he left Forest and has made 152 appearances in the top division.

Now, times are changing at St James' Park. They're now back by a Saudi revolution and will be spending big sums during the summer transfer window.

It is thought that one senior central defender will leave this summer. As a result, Lascelles could be the fall guy, with clubs interested in his services.

At 29, Lascelles doesn't overly fulfil the Dane Murphy mantra. The defender would command a transfer fee and that's not something Forest's CEO tends to do for players of a certain age.

It's fair to say that Lascelles should have suitors though. It wasn't long ago that his form for Newcastle was attracting admiring glances from other clubs; whilst an England call-up also came into question.

Lascelles is experienced and ultimately he's a very capable Premier League defender. With that in mind, it's no surprise to see top-flight clubs vying for his services.

Forest face competition for Lascelles and Fulham perhaps have the edge

It's fair to say that Lascelles would probably welcome a return to the City Ground. He made 65 appearances for the club the first time around having come through the academy ranks.

Forest have perhaps moved on from their former player right now, however.

The club are locked in talks with Mainz regarding Moussa Niakhate. Alongside Joe Worrall, Scott McKenna and Steve Cook that would give the Reds a healthy plethora of centre-backs for next season.

Fulham on the other hand do look short at the back. Tosin Adarabioyo is the main central defender but Terence Kongolo and Tim Ream are hardly names to inspire ahead of next season.

As a result, Forest might have slipped behind the Cottagers in the race to sign Lascelles; although that might not necessarily worry the Reds too much.

Player set to give Fulham response 'this week' – Latest takes on the situation

Fulham fans are certainly anxious about the confirmation of signing João Palhinha, as despite the many reports of an agreement between the Cottagers and Sporting, the transfer is still to be completed.

It's well known that the midfielder is currently on holiday, and just so the Fulham faithful can have the latest on the situation, let's cover what is being said in Portugal about this case today.

First in a story from Record, which also says Matheus Nunes' transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers is waiting for the player's return from Brazil, they claim Palhinha's situation is similar.

They write, however, the move to Fulham is actually even 'more advanced', as he's close to moving to Craven Cottage for €20m. And since he's enjoying his time off in the Maldives with his wife, the transfer will only be made official once he's back.

Record adds that Palhinha will sign a five-year deal with the Whites.

Meanwhile, whilst also talking about Sporting's exits, newspaper Jornal de Notícias points out that Palhinha has a €20m bid from Fulham waiting for him.

They say the 'final answer' to the offer should be given 'this week'. Unlike Record, they don't make it clear the answer will be positive.

But following so many reports from Portugal claiming the move is happening, it sounds like it's a matter of days until Palhinha returns from his holidays and everything is sorted out.

Newcastle want to sign 'exceptional' defender once hailed by Pep Guardiola

Newcastle United want Tosin Adarabioyo and are turning to the Fulham defender as they seek new signings for Eddie Howe's back line.

The Magpies signed Dan Burn in January but they continue to be linked with other central defenders.

Lille star Sven Botman is the top target but he is left-footed just like Burn, so right-footers are being eyed up too.

The likes of Merih Demiral and Roger Ibanez have been linked with that role but Newcastle could now look a little closer to home.

Newcastle United want Tosin Adarabioyo

Newcastle are now turning their attention towards Fulham central defender Adarabioyo.

The Mirror claim that Newcastle are looking to pounce for Adarabioyo as he has just one year left on his Fulham contract.

Fulham will want to keep Adarabioyo but if he doesn't agree a new contract soon, they may be better off selling now.

That's certainly what Newcastle are hoping for and they may hope to secure a bargain deal for Adarabioyo.

Adarabioyo stands at a huge 6ft 5in tall and could form a mountainous partnership with Burn in the heart of the Newcastle back line.

The 24-year-old may not be as high-profile as some of the other centre backs on the Newcastle wish list, but he has certainly excelled for Fulham.

Hailed as 'exceptional' by his former Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Adarabioyo was a hot prospect at the Etihad Stadium.

Yet with his pathway to first-team football blocked, Adarabioyo chose to leave City for guaranteed minutes at Fulham.

Now a key player for the Cottagers and absolutely vital in their promotion-winning season, Adarabioyo is becoming a quality defender.

Newcastle now hope to lure Adarabioyo up to St James' Park having also shown a keen interest in the giant defender back in December.

Johnny Haynes Trophy Winner 2022

The Trust sends our warm congratulations to Sonny Hilton, who has been voted as the latest winner of the Johnny Haynes Trophy for the Fulham Supporters' Trust Academy Player of the Year after his sensational season skippering the Under‑23s to the league title.

The attacking midfielder, now 21, scored 11 goals and registered 19 assists in an outstanding individual campaign as Steve Wigley's side stormed to the Premier League 2 Division 2 title, securing the Under‑23s a return to the top flight.

The Johnny Haynes Trophy, named after Fulham's finest ever player, is awarded to the Fulham Supporters' Trust Academy Player of the Year at the end of each season. The winner is decided by a democratic vote of the academy players aged from 16 to 23 and the coaching staff. Sonny is the fourth winner of the trophy following in the footsteps of Tyrese Francois, Jay Stansfield and Fabio Carvalho.

After being presented with the award at Motspur Park by Trust board members Simon Duke, Tamara Dragadze and Dan Crawford and Trust member Peter Grinham, Sonny Hilton said:

All the lads who won this award previously had amazing seasons, so to be recognised this time around is a really lovely feeling. We all worked so hard as a team last season and even in tough situations, we stayed together and showed what we were all about.

    Sonny Hilton

Fulham's Academy Director, Mike Cave, added:

It's a fantastic achievement for Sonny and it's testament to his fantastic performance both on and off the pitch.

He had strong seasons leading up to the most recent campaign, where he found a great vein of form and worked incredibly hard on the training pitch. He was able to get the opportunity to play consistent football which he fully deserved.

    Mike Cave

Dan Crawford, of the Fulham Supporters' Trust, commented:

Sonny was an exceptional leader for Fulham's successful Under‑23s side last season, showcasing his maturity alongside his outstanding technical ability. I know he's a popular member of the squad and he's always been a player that the fans have followed closely.

He has the ability to get fans out of their seats by doing something special. He keeps the opposition on their toes throughout the full 90 minutes and even managed to score twice directly from a corner last season. I hope that he will progress towards first team football as soon as possible.

    Dan Crawford

On behalf of all Fulham supporters, we wish Sonny all the best for his future career and look forward to seeing him playing in the Fulham first team soon.

Everton, Fulham, West Ham United offered chance to sign Luca Pellegrini

Everton, Fulham and West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Luca Pellegrini from Juventus, with the Old Lady keen on cashing in on the left-back.

According to Corriere Dello Sport via Sport Witness, at least three Premier League clubs have been offered the chance to sign Luca Pellegrini from Juventus. The Italian giants are keen on cashing in on the defender and would entertain offers from England, with Everton, Fulham and West Ham United being given the opportunity to sign the left-back.

Luca Pellegrini only started to get going in this Juventus team this past season, having spent the last couple of campaigns away on loan. The 23-year-old left-back made 15 starts in Serie A in 2021/22, with an additional three appearances coming off the bench. While he proved a good option, the Bianconeri are not particularly keen on keeping hold of the player.

The club have reportedly informed their transfer team to seek opportunities in the market, and his agent, Vincenzo Raiola, whose uncle was the late Mino Raiola, is already offering his client to suitors. As many as three clubs have been offered the chance to sign the Italy international, with Everton, Fulham and West Ham United being those teams.

All three sides are chasing a new left-back, with their managers keen on bringing reinforcements ahead of the new season. Everton, in particular, have been chasing Olexandr Zinchenko since Arsenal cooled their interest, as Frank Lampard is keen to add competition for Vitalii Mykolenko.

The Toffees lost Lucas Digne in January to Aston Villa and replaced him with Mykolenko. The Ukrainian did have a strong finish to the season, but the need for an additional player in the position is vital. And Pellegrini could be a cheaper alternative to Zinchenko, although Juventus will look to recoup most of what they paid for the left-back three years ago.

As for West Ham United and Fulham, both clubs had already been in contact with Pellegrini's agent over a potential transfer. The Hammers are looking for an upgrade on Arthur Masuaku to provide cover for Aaron Cresswell at left-back, while newly-promoted Fulham are keen on adding depth in the position with the Italian's signing.

With three years left on his contract, Juventus could command a significant fee for Pellegrini, although the three Premier League clubs could look to drive the price down as much as possible. The 23-year-old left-back has a bright future ahead and could look to move away from Turin if a good offer comes in.

Fulham now favourites to sign £17m veteran released by Prem rivals

Andriy Yarmolenko could make an immediate return to the Premier League with Fulham emerging as the frontrunners to sign the former West Ham United winger, according to Ukrainian reporter Viktor Vatsko.

Now, if Fulham's impending swoop for Joao Palhinha felt like an inspired piece of business – signing a top-quality defensive midfielder at the peak of his powers – then Yarmolenko's potential arrival at Craven Cottage feels rather more, well, let's say unconvincing.

There has never been any doubt about Yarmolenko's talent. But the veteran winger, at 32 years of age, has endured his fair share of injury issues in recent seasons. And when he did get on the pitch, the former Borussia Dortmund ace hardly justified his mammoth wages at the London Stadium.

Yarmolenko made 19 Premier League appearances under David Moyes in 2021/22. But he was included in West Ham's starting XI on just one occasion.

And, while he'll always have that iconic extra-time winner against Sevilla, you won't find many Hammers fans who disagreed with the decision to bid farewell with Yarmolenko's £115,000-a-week contract coming to an end in July.

Is Andriy Yarmolenko set to swap West Ham for Fulham?

According to Vatsko, clubs in Saudi Arabia and the MLS are interested. Many have predicted that Yarmolenko would wind down his career in a so-called 'retirement league'. But, in a twist that even M Night Shyamalan may consider a little over-the-top, Yarmolenko could now stay, not just England, but in London too.

Vatsko claims that newly-promoted Fulham have suddenly emerged as the most likely destination for a player who set West Ham back £17 million in the summer of 2018.

Given that Marco Silva already has a left-footed right winger in the shape of Harry Wilson, it feels unlikely that Yarmolenko would be anything more than an experienced back-up at Craven Cottage. The veteran wideman has a decision to make, then.

Does he accept a back-seat position at Fulham? Or a starring role in a lesser league?

Fulham's interest in Yarmolenko is unlikely to affect their pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk's Manor Solomon or Bologna's Musa Barrow. Both Solomon and Barrow play on the left, rather than the right.

Hilton wins Johnny Haynes trophy

Fulham under 23s skipper Sonny Hilton has been voted as the winner of this year's Johnny Haynes Trophy for the academy player of the year after an outstanding individual season.

The 21 year-old attacking midfielder, who captained Steve Wigley's side to the Premier League 2 Division two title, scored eleven goals and added nineteen assists in a superb campaign that saw him firmly establish himself as one of the academy's most consistent performances.

Hilton is the fourth winner of the Johnny Haynes Trophy, which was instigated by the Fulham Supporters' Trust, following in the footsteps of Tyrese Francois, Jay Stansfield and Fabio Carvalho. The winner is decided by a democratic vote of the club's academy players, aged between 16 and 23, and the coaching staff.

Hilton told the club's official website: "All the lads who won this award previously had amazing seasons, so to be recognised this time around is a really lovely feeling. We all worked so hard as a team last season and even in tough situations, we stayed together and showed what we were all about."

Academy director Mike Cave added: "It's a fantastic achievement for Sonny and testament to his performance both on and off the pitch this season. Sonny has performed well over many seasons, but this year he found a great vein of form. He's worked hard on the training pitch and benefited from the opportunity to play consistently, which has deservedly culminated in both team and now individual success."

Fulham set sights on Musa Barrow

Fulham are interested in Musa Barrow, with Bologna reportedly open to a sale if offers over €20 million arrive.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness), Fulham are chasing Bologna star Musa Barrow, valued at over €20 million by the Italian side. The newly-promoted Premier League side are keen to bring quality players ahead of their season back in the top-tier and may look to spend heavily.

Marco Silva is already under pressure upon his return to the Premier League. The big task for the Cottagers and their manager would be to survive the ordeal of a relegation battle, for which they need to sign quality reinforcements this summer.

Fulham are heavily involved in the market and could make several necessary signings. Some may cost them significant money, but the Cottagers are prepared to spend if needed and bring in players that may help their cause. They are already chasing Liverpool's Neco Williams and are in the market for new attackers, midfielders, and defenders.

Shakhtar Donetsk's Manor Salomon is closing in on a transfer to Fulham. The winger can operate in multiple positions in the front three, so the idea of bringing the Israeli international is enticing, especially after the club have lost Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool.

Another player in a similar profile on their radar is Musa Barrow, who had a decent season with Bologna in Serie A. His tally of six goals and seven assists in 34 league appearances has enticed many interested clubs, with Fulham exploring a move for the Gambian international.

Bologna signed barrow from Atalanta last summer, paying a fee close to €15 million for the 23-year-old winger. The Gambian is usually a wide attacker but has the ability to play through the middle if needed. His versatility has seemingly compelled Silva to consider a move, despite the player's potentially high price tag.

Bologna are willing to do business if a €20 million+ offer arrives in the summer. While Fulham are not cash-strapped by any means, they will still want to be cautious with their spending. So, it remains to be seen if a move for Barrow might be on the cards.

Attacker reportedly set for move to Premier League club after West Ham exit

Andriy Yarmolenko could end up staying in London after his release from West Ham in the transfer window with Premier League new boys Fulham keen on signing him.

That's according to a report from Viktor Vatsko who claim that Fulham are actually favourites to sign the ex-Hammer.

Yarmolenko left the London Stadium on a free transfer earlier this month after his contract expired with West Ham.

The former Borussia Dortmund man, signed for £18 million in 2018 (talkSPORT), lacked the kind of pace and physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.

And as a result he failed to establish himself with the Hammers. He clearly wasn't the kind of attacker David Moyes likes.

Yarmo did finish his West Ham career with a few brilliant moments with goals against Aston Villa and Sevilla. Moving him on was 100% the right call though. And it now seems as though he could be set to stay in London...

Andriy Yarmolenko set for Premier League transfer to Fulham

Viktor Vatsko claim that Fulham are favourites to sign the 32-year-old Ukrainian.

If the Cottagers do sign Yarmo, then good luck to them.

He quite simply wasn't good enough to be a regular starter for West Ham and the fact that he was earning £115k-a-week was actually farcical.

Thank God that ridiculous salary is now gone from the Hammers wage-bill.

Yarmolenko actually has a lot of talent and he would be more suited to playing abroad rather than the Premier League.

We do wish the Ukrainian all the best but think that a transfer to another Premier League club might not be the best thing for him and certainly not for Fulham.

Who knows, he might end up flourishing in a team that places less emphasis on defensive solidarity.

We just can't see it though.

Fulham lead race to sign Andriy Yarmolenko

Fulham have Andriy Yarmolenko in their sights, with Marco Silva probably looking at him as an experienced attacking addition.

According to Ukrainian commentator and transfer insider Viktor Vatsko (h/t HITC), Andriy Yarmolenko is a target for newly-promoted Fulham, as Marco Silva eyes an experienced attacker to his setup. The Cottagers could get the Ukrainian winger on a free transfer to add valuable depth option to the squad.

However, there is an opportunity for Yarmolenko to remain in London, a city where he is settled. Fulham are keen on the winger, with Marco Silva keen on adding an experienced presence to his attacking setup. The Cottagers are back in the Premier League and have made plans to remain there for seasons to come.

Silva aims to build a team to fight off a potential relegation battle, as the pressure will be on them from day one. The manager has the backing of the board, who are willing to sanction significant funds to shore up the squad.

The Portuguese manager is keen on a reliable midfielder and supporting attackers from wide areas. They have been linked with Musa Barrow and Manor Salomon, among other forwards, but the links to Yarmolenko suggest Silva could also be looking at experienced options.

Yarmolenko could be a good squad option for Silva in the upcoming season. The Ukrainian has considerable Premier League experience to help out a side like Fulham, who could look to secure him on a short-term deal. The veteran winger could be tempted by the prospect of remaining in London, although he will have to take a big pay cut to stay in the Premier League.

West Ham are already looking at replacements, with Ismaila Sarr a potential target. While they have no regrets about letting the winger run down his contract, they are losing a good squad option who could change games from the bench.

Fulham are said to be the frontrunners to sign Yarmolenko, although the Ukrainian could weigh in on other proposals from clubs abroad. Remaining in London could be considered an attractive option for him though, and it will be interesting to see if he makes the switch to Craven Cottage.
