So is that going to be when the action starts with regards all the signings for all clubs?

If there is truth in the rumours we seem to have players lined up for transfer. If we can get them here and ready to go on the pre season tour to Portugal then we will have done well.

We really can't afford to wait for key players until the transfer deadline in the hope of good bargain buys as  we may then find ourselves struggling in an early relegation place again.

If we sign a player today with a new contract, would we start paying wages straight away?
I know I wouldn't want to start paying a player until the last possible date especially with the huge sums a player earns these days.
The 1st July seems a suitable date so I expect signings very close to that day.
