Report makes Fulham claim that hands Nottingham Forest a major boost over Liverpool man

Nottingham Forest have received a big boost from Fulham in their quest to sign Liverpool defender Neco Williams. It was claimed over the weekend that the Reds will push hard to land the Premier League full-back this summer.

Now, the Cottagers might have moved on from Williams. Sky Sports claims that they've bid for Wolfsburg defender Kevin Mbabu to fill the void on the right-hand side of their defence.

The 27-year-old previously spent some time at Newcastle. That period wasn't a particularly successful one and he managed just five appearances for the Magpies.

Mbabu has been at Wolfsburg since 2019. He's made 82 appearances and last season he helped the Bundesliga club finish 12th in the league table.

The German outfit are hoping to offload him this summer. He's out of contract in a year and it doesn't appear that another contract offer will be forthcoming.

Mbabu won't come cheap. He earns £66,000-a-week in Germany and as a result, he will likely command a sizeable wage packet from Fulham.

This could be great news for Forest regarding Williams though. Liverpool are willing to sell the 21-year-old this summer with Calvin Ramsey arriving from Aberdeen.

Forest are thought to be really keen to sign Williams. The Wales international will be desperate to play regularly and a new right-sided wing-back is a must during the summer.

Forest receive Williams boost and they must now press ahead

In the next couple of weeks, Forest will hope to see some new face come through the door. Now isn't the time to panic but a couple of new players for the training camp in Spain could prove ideal.

Williams would come in as an alternative to Djed Spence. The former Forest loanee is set to join Tottenham and the Reds have been forced into shopping elsewhere.

The defender is relatively experienced and he's made 32 appearances for Liverpool and won 21 caps for Wales.

Williams joined Fulham for the second half of last season, making 15 appearances for them. As a result, it was anticipated that they'd hold the aces.

Now, they've turned their attentions to Mbabu and Forest could now have a clear run at signing Liverpool talent Williams.

Fulham: Cottagers on the brink of Joao Palhinha deal

According to The Athletic, Fulham are now extremely close to completing a deal for Sporting midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The Lowdown: Battle for Palhinha

Despite still having a solid four years remaining on his current contract at the Jose Alvalade Stadium, the 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Ruben Amorim's side in recent weeks.

The Cottagers have for the most part been battling Premier League rivals Wolves for his signature, as it was reported earlier this month that the Wanderers had been in talks with the Portuguese star and even agreed a fee.

News has since emerged that Marco Silva has managed to convince his target to favour Craven Cottage instead, and after a fresh update, it would appear as though the switch is almost officially over the line.

The Latest: Fulham close to completing move
In a new article published by The Athletic, it's claimed that Fulham are now 'close to signing' Palhinha for a fee believed to be in the region of €20m (£17.2m).

The source further states that the Sporting ace has recently been on holiday, but is 'expected to conclude' his move to the Whites as soon as he returns.

The Verdict: Adding a new dimension
Silva is believed to have identified the defensive midfield area as a priority position this summer ahead of the club's awaited return to the top flight, and Palhinha will be a fantastic addition to Fulham's starting XI when he puts pen to paper.

The 14-cap international, who was once dubbed a "special" player by his manager Amorim, made 38 appearances for Sporting across all competitions last season, and the 6 foot 3 colossus racked up a whopping three tackles per game in the Primeira Liga.

Perhaps, then, it is no surprise that members of the media have branded him a 'sensational player' for his performances this season.

If Palhinha can transition the same form that he's displayed in Portugal to the Premier League, then he will surely go on to become a huge success and potentially even be the deciding factor in whether Silva can keep his side up this term.

Newcastle's £30m deal leaves Fulham free to secure £65k-a-week transfer

Light at the end of the tunnel. After six months, countless bids and a will-he-won't-he transfer saga that dragged on for far longer than anyone would have wanted, Newcastle United are finally set to confirm the signing of Eddie Howe's number one centre-back target. Better late than never, as they say.

According to the Northern Echo, Botman is flying into Tyneside before undergoing a medical and putting pen to paper on a £30 million transfer.

"(I am) really grateful that I've worn the Lille badge for two years," the former Ajax youngster writes on Instagram, confirming his departure from the 2021 Ligue 1 champions. "It has been an incredible journey with two big trophies and memories I will never forget.

"Merci LOSC!"

But with one left-footed centre-half on his way – at last – what does this mean for another who has been tipped to join Newcastle's Saudi-funded revolution? Reports from Italy last week claimed that the Magpies were tabling an offer for Alessio Romagnoli; The 12-time Italy international who's contract at AC Milan expires in a matter of days.

Given that Romagnoli, like Botman, is more comfortable on his left than his right, it's probably safe to assume that the Rossoneri captain was viewed by Newcastle as an affordable alternative to a man they've been chasing with increasing desperation since the turn of the year.

Botman, alongside Dan Burn, will double Newcastle's tally of left-footed centre-halves. They don't need a third. But what now for Romagnoli? Well, while one door has closed, a window of opportunity appears to have opened up elsewhere. In West London, to be precise.

Sven Botman to Newcastle and Alessio Romagnoli to Fulham?

According to Tuttomercatoweb, newly-promoted Fulham have offered Romagnoli a £65,000-a-week contract at Craven Cottage. The former Roma ace would arrive on a free transfer. That is despite the fact he captained Milan to the Serie A title just a couple of weeks ago and seems, on paper at least, like an immediate upgrade on Tim Ream; The epitome of a footballer who thrives in the Championship but tends to find the step up challenging.

"He's a great defender and he's growing a lot," former Milan ace Sergino said back in 2019, tipping Romagnoli to follow in the footsteps of two bonafide Rossoneri legends.

"Alessio is young but he can grow to become as good as (Alessandro) Nesta and (Paolo) Maldini."

At 27, and with Milan happy to let him go on a free, Romagnoli will not be remembered at the San Siro with the same fondness as either Nesta or Maldini. Regardless of the role he played during Milan's first Scudetto triumph in a decade.

But while Romagnoli may not have become a world-beating central defender, he could be more than enough for a Fulham side desperate to avoid a repeat of 2019 or 2021.

Fulham 'in pole position' to sign defender – 'Ready to invest €12m', player has 'asked for sale'

It appears Fulham have overtaken West Ham in the race to sign Luca Pellegrini from Juventus this summer.

The Hammers were reportedly top of the pile a mere 24 hours ago, according to Corriere dello Sport, but the same newspaper on Tuesday have now changed their tune.

Looking at the Italian defender's future, they explain he 'will no longer alternate' with Alex Sandro at left-back in Turin, as he has 'asked for a sale because he is eager to play more consistently'.

While the newly promoted Monza have come forward, the €12m request from Turin made them turn around fairly sharply.

Matters are different in England, however, where West Ham and Fulham are reportedly 'pressing' to sign the player.

Not only that, but 'the Craven Cottage club are in pole position and appear ready to invest €12m' in the 23-year-old.

When that will happen isn't said, but it seems Marco Silva is keen to work with the one time capped Italy international.

Not only that, but €12m is a fairly affordable price, especially for a newly promoted side like Fulham, who will be keen to avoid dropping back down to the Championship a year after coming up.

Crystal Palace 'make contact' over hijacking Man Utd transfer 'agreement' with Fulham
CRYSTAL PALACE have reportedly explored a deal to sign Andreas Pereira from Manchester United...

Crystal Palace have made contact with the agents of Andreas Pereira amid reports Manchester United have agreed to sell the Brazilian to Fulham, it's claimed. The playmaker is set to decide his future within the next few days as his loan deal with Flamengo trickles to an end and it appears he has several Premier League options on the table ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

It's been a wild ride for Pereira at United after breaking into the first-team picture in 2014 but he has spent the majority of his time out on loan with the likes of Granada, Valencia and Lazio.

Yet Erik ten Hag is seemingly keen to assess the 26-year-old in pre-season before making any final decision over his future - despite talk the club are happy with the proposal on the table from Fulham.

The Cottagers are offering around £8.6million up front, plus an additional £2.5m in add-ons to sign the creative midfielder but they are not the only English club interested in his services.

According to Goal's Raisa Simplicio, Crystal Palace have also made contact, sparking suggestions that the Eagles could be looking to hijack the deal.

Palace are beginning to ramp up their summer transfer business after landing Malcolm Ebiowei and Sam Johnstone. Talks are also advanced with Lens for midfielder Cheick Doucoure.

Fulham appear to be in the driving seat for Pereira as of now but Flamengo also have an option to buy the player - which they are set to make a decision on in the coming days.

Former Flamengo boss Paulo Sousa, who was recently dismissed, had been campaigning to make the deal happen.

"Of all those that we have, I would like this continuity that I have already expressed," he told the Brazilian press.

"We've already spoken to Bruno, but it's not just up to us, it's up to the player and the club. In the game against Catolica, Andreas played an extraordinary game, and now he was decisive."

Either way, Palace's interest could be good news for United if they decide to sell Pereira - as it would bolster their chances of maximising profit on their academy graduate.

United scouts, who were recently making checks on potential targets in South America, were said to be impressed by Pereira during one of their missions in Brazil towards the end of last season.

They reportedly advised Ten Hag to cast an eye over the player during pre-season, something he looks willing to do after welcoming his new squad back to Carrington.

To date, United have made little progress in the transfer window and new signings have been few and far between.

Report: Fulham submit £9m bid for player Newcastle sold in 2017

According to Sky Sports, Fulham have submitted a €10m (£9m) bid to sign Kevin Mbabu, who left Newcastle in 2017.

What's the story?

Well, it was Rafa Benitez who sold the 27-year-old back in 2017, after he made just five appearances for the Magpies.

Now, Mbabu could be returning to the Premier League with Fulham, who are on the hunt for a new right-back.

Marco Silva had Neco Williams on loan from Liverpool to help in that area last season, although the Wales international could now join Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis.

As a result, Mbabu is being targeted, with a £9m bid already sent to VfL Wolfsburg.

Sky Sports believe the Cottagers are still awaiting a response, although they find themselves in a decent negotiating position as the Switzerland international's contract expires next summer.

Mbabu has impressed since swapping the Premier League for the Bundesliga, while he has also gained Champions League experience during his time with VfL Wolfsburg.

Last season, he made 31 appearances in all competitions, playing predominately as a right-back despite also being used as a right wing-back at times.

Fulham could embarrass Newcastle

In our view, if Mbabu returns to the Premier League and continues to deliver impressive performances, many will question why Newcastle let him go.

Some Newcastle fans were already asking that question themselves after seeing the Swiss defender shine over in Germany, and we believe the rest of the Premier League will do the same if he does well for Fulham.

In truth, Mbabu would've been a good signing for the Magpies last year, although the arrival of Kieran Trippier means there is no need for another right-back at St James' Park anymore.

Mbabu even revealed to The Athletic that he is determined to prove Newcastle were wrong to let him go, which could benefit Fulham if their £9m bid is accepted.

Keep an eye on this situation, as the Cottagers should soon receive a response.

Jorge Mendes slowing midfielder's transfer to Fulham – Agent demands €2m payment

Even though it's been a long time since the Portuguese media first claimed Fulham and Sporting have agreed a deal for the transfer of João Palhinha, the move is still to be made official, with reports from Lisbon citing the player being on holiday as the reason.

However, we now get to see an interesting report from journalist Bruno Andrade, presenting another reason why the deal is stalled for now.

According to his report, Jorge Mendes received an authorisation, last season, from Sporting to 'exclusively discuss' the midfielder's future in the English market.

It's said Mendes expected a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have been linked to Palhinha this summer, despite being unable to reach a deal with the Lions.

Bruno Andrade, however, claims the transfer to Fulham was handled by another agent, Hernan Nogueira. Mendes, who stayed out of these negotiations, is charging €2m, as he was supposed to have 'priority in the intermediation' and would therefore like his cut.

The journalist says it's Sporting, not Fulham, who have the 'responsibility' of paying the extra fee and getting the transfer sealed.

Player has 'frozen' Fulham contract offer for now – Holding out for preferred club, not about money

Free to talk to clubs as his contract at Milan is set to expire in a couple of days, Alessio Romagnoli has a strong preference to play for Lazio.

However, they are yet to offer him a contract he is happy with, which has opened the door for a couple of other clubs, like Fulham.

The newly promoted side are on a mission to improve their squad ahead of a tough season in the Premier League, and a new centre-back appears to be on Marco Silva's list.

Romagnoli is one of the options, and a contract would have already been offered to the Italian, if Corriere dello Sport are to be believed.

They explain that, regarding a move to Lazio, 'only the patience of Alessio still keeps the operation going', because he has 'not tired of waiting and so far has frozen the Fulham offer'.

The Cottagers have reportedly put a €4m/year post tax wage package in front of him, but he has decided to 'give priority to Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare' for now.

The big question, however, is how long that will last, with those in charge of matters at Lazio hope he can hold on a bit more.

It's not a question of money, because 'if that were the case, he wouldn't have waited long'.

That doesn't mean Fulham are out of the race, because he could very quickly defrost that contract offer, and they still represent a real danger for the Serie A side.

Player set to travel to London 'in coming hours' following Fulham's €20m agreement for signing

Earlier today, we covered claims revealing the reason why João Palhinha's move from Sporting to Fulham is taking so long.

It was claimed that Jorge Mendes, who was supposed to have exclusivity in negotiating the player's move to England, stayed out of the transaction, and now demands €2m.

Despite that story, part of the Portuguese media continues to be very confident that Palhinha is on his way to the Craven Cottage.

Newspaper O Jogo today writes that 'everything indicates' the player is travelling to England 'in the coming hours' to be presented by Fulham. It's said Marco Silva made a 'huge effort' to get the signing done.

Still, the outlet also makes it clear that not everything is ready. Despite the agreement between the Whites and Sporting for a €20m move being reached a while ago, the player is still to give his final 'yes' to the move.

O Jogo adds that there are other details to be sorted by all parties, even though they are not enough to make the deal collapse. Perhaps they refer to the Mendes issue here.

It's also claimed that the transfer is set to only be made official after the 1st of July, so it can be counted by Sporting as an income from the 2022/23 season.

Transfer Tracker: The latest on Hull City's pursuit of released Fulham man Jean Michael Seri

Hull City have been linked with an ambitious move for departing Fulham midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

Seri, 30, sees his Fulham contract expire at the end of this month, and it was revealed last month that the Whites would not be extending his stay.

It's a disappointing end to what was a turbulent time at Craven Cottage for the Ivory Coast international, having suffered relegation in his first season before heading out on loan, then returning to help them win promotion last time round.

And Hull City have been tipped to snap him up on a free transfer.

So what's the latest on Seri to Hull City?

Football Insider first reported Hull City's interest in Seri at the end of May. Nothing was reported on the matter for a couple of weeks before it was then revealed earlier this month that Seri was set to meet with Hull City owner Acun Ilicali to discuss personal terms.

And the Hull owner gave an honest insight into those discussions just a few days ago, telling HullLive:

"Very probably he will be wearing a Hull City shirt. I was with him in Istanbul, and before I was a fan of his football but after I've got to know him, I'm a fan of his character, too. He is fully focused on football, he's a family man who has the passion to take us to higher places.

"He will be chief of our orchestra in this team and with this quality of player being the chief in the team, I believe we will be very happy."

Hull City have today seen George Honeyman secure his transfer to Millwall and so this potential signing of Seri takes on even more important for Tigers boss Shota Arveladze, who guided Hull to a steady 19th place finish last season.

And that 'chief orchestra' role that Ilicali talks about was filled by Honeyman last season, so Seri could yet be a like-for-like replacement, or maybe even a like-for-like improvement on Honeyman.

Seri then looks to be closing in on a move to Hull City. It'd be a real statement signing for the club under their new owner, with fans hopeful of seeing some more signings in the coming weeks ahead of what will be another tough Championship campaign next time round.

£18m ace to miss training with Fulham move imminent, agrees 4-year deal

Joao Palhinha will miss the beginning of pre-season training at Sporting Lisbon as the Premier League-bound midfielder closes in on an £18 million move to Fulham, as reported by Portuguese publication Zero Zero.

If anything sums up the difference between preparing for life in the Championship and preparing for life in the Premier League, it's Fulham's decision to release Jean-Michael Seri while investing 20 million euros in Palhinha.

Seri, Marco Silva's go-to number six for most of last season, is certainly more of a ball-player rather than a ball-winner.

With Fulham steamrollering most other teams in the division, the former Everton and Watford boss could get away with using Seri as a deep-lying, tempo-setting, string-pulling playmaker at the heart of his midfield.

It almost goes without saying, however, that Fulham won't be able to swagger and saunter their way through the top-flight like they did in the second-tier. If Seri's job was to start attacks, then it's Palhinha's job to stop them. His positional sense, mobility and physicality could prove invaluable.

Fulham on verge of sealing £18m Joao Palhinha deal

Palhinha averaged three successful tackles per game in 2021/22. Seri; 1.4. What's more, Palhinha averages more interceptions too, while standing nearly a foot taller than the now-unattached Ivorian (WhoScored).

So Palhinha's arrival, coupled with Seri's departure, feels like an acknowledgement of the tactical changes Fulham must make if they are to avoid a repeat of 2019 and 2021. An acceptance of the fact that Fulham are likely to spend much of next season on the back foot.

"I've seen him play for Portugal. And, I tell you what, I was really impressed with him," Cottagers legend Danny Murphy tells talkSPORT of Palhinha. "This looks like a steal!"

It certainly does. Fulham will reportedly pay £18 million up front, while handing Palhinha a four-year deal at Craven Cottage worth £40,000-a-week. He's hardly cheap, then, but it must be said that Sporting were demanding far, far more than that in previous transfer windows.

According to ZeroZero, Palhinha won't be at Sporting's training ground ahead of pre-season training. It is expected that he will be unveiled in West London in the coming days.

Fulham in talks over defender signing – 'No official offer yet', club hope to make 'up to €8m' from deal

Late last week, we covered a report from Italy claiming that Fulham had made an offer for Kevin Mbabu.

The news came from TuttoMercatoWeb, who claimed the Cottagers were showing strong interest in the Switzerland international, who made 31 appearances in all competitions last season.

Well, this had made its way to Germany, where Kicker go out of their way to clarify a few points when it comes to Fulham and Mbabu.

The magazine, on their website, do concur that Marco Silva's side are interested, 'but there is no official offer yet'.

They even go out of their way to point out that if €10m had been put forward, 'the transfer of the Swiss would probably go straight through'.

That's because his deal at Wolfsburg ends in a year, and he suffered a troubled campaign off the pitch, which affected his standing in the team.

That being said, the reported €10m offer 'has not been received', regardless of the fact the interest from Fulham 'has been deposited'.

In fact, 'talks about a transfer are being held', where 'thoughts on numbers are being exchanged', meaning Wolfsburg's hope of making 'up to €8m' could happen.

Down their end, the Bundesliga side have already brought in a replacement in Kilian Fischer, so a sale is certainly on the cards if Fulham do end up opening their wallet.

Fulham agree fee with Man Utd for Andreas Pereira

Fulham have been given permission to talk to Andreas Pereira after agreeing a fee with Manchester United for a potential transfer this summer, 90min has learned.

Pereira is currently on loan with Brazilian club Flamengo, who are part way through their 2022 campaign. The midfielder has been a regular starter with the Rio de Janeiro side this season and last, as well playing in last year's Copa Libertadores defeat to Palmeiras.

Pereira's loan expires this week and he is set to play what could be his final game on Wednesday.

90min understands that while Fulham have permission to speak to the player and bring him back to English football, Flamengo are also trying hard to keep him.

Pereira himself has stated his desire to stay with Flamengo, but admitted this week it may be out of his hands. In a message to journalist Thiago Asmar, he said, "It is no longer in our hands, I have already said it on several occasions and interviews, my desire to stay!

"I will play on Wednesday, and I will leave and give my life on the pitch."

Pereira seems to have recovered from a spell of disappointing form earlier this year that led to rumours Flamengo would be withdrawing their interest – he has started every Brasileiro game since a match-winning performance in the Fla-Flu Rio de Janeiro derby against Fluminense in May.

The Belgian-born player joined Manchester United's youth ranks from PSV Eindhoven on his 16th birthday in January 2012. He went on to make his first-team debut in 2014 under the management of Louis van Gaal and has played 75 times in total, primarily under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pereira was loaned to Lazio during the 2020/21 season, but the Serie A club opted against exercising an option to buy thought to be €27m after he started only a handful of games.

Fulham interested in £35.5m trio as summer window heats up

Fulham are reportedly interested in signing three players this summer with a total valuation of £35.5m.

According to Sky Sports, the London club are interested in signing Sporting CP midfielder Joao Palhinha and Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon. The Portuguese man is valued at around £20m reports Sky Sports, whilst the Israeli international is said to be worth around £7m by the Ukrainian side.

This comes after Fulham already bid €10m for Wolfsburg right-back Kevin Mbabu and the club are still waiting for a response from the Bundesliga outfit. The Swiss international slipped down the pecking order last season for the German side and made just 14 starts throughout the 2021/22 campaign. The 27-year-old's contract also expires next summer so the signs are good for the Premier League side.

Fulham are yet to bring in a player this summer so far and will be looking to make the right signings following their promotion to the Premier League. The Cottagers are known for moving up and down the divisions and will hope to avoid that outcome next season.

The three players mentioned above would be a good start for the London club and should they get all three deals over the line it should be expected that they won't stop there and will push for more quality this summer.

Fulham 'given permission to talk' to Man Utd player after 'agreeing' fee – Flamengo also 'trying hard'

According to reports, newly-promoted Fulham have been 'given permission' by Manchester United to speak with their midfielder Andreas Pereira.

The midfielder signed for Man Utd from Dutch side PSV in 2011. He made his senior debut for the Red Devils at the start of the 2014/15 campaign.

The Brazil international has struggled to establish himself at United. He has only played 75 times for them across all competitions.

Pereira has spent the last couple of seasons on loan at Flamengo. They looked set to sign him until Fulham joined the race for his signature.

Scott Parker's side submitted an £11m bid for the 26-year-old earlier this week.

90min are now reporting that Fulham have agreed a fee with Manchester United.

They 'have permission to speak' to the player, though it is noted that Flamengo are also 'trying hard' to sign him.

Pereira recently stated that it is his "desire" to stay at Flamengo permanently:

"It is no longer in our hands, I have already said it on several occasions and interviews, my desire to stay!

Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly sees Scott McTominay as a "pivotal" part of his plans at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman took over as Red Devils boss at the end of last season after Ralf Rangnick's indifferent stint as interim manager.

Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong – who Ten Hag managed at Ajax – is a top target, and United have reportedly made a breakthrough in their negotiations with the La Liga outfit.

However, it is believed that the Dutch manager won't look to recruit another central midfielder this summer despite the loss of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.

Although this could change if the Old Trafford club fail to land free agent Christian Eriksen, who operates in a more attacking role.

According to The Times, there is some interest in Leicester City playmaker Youri Tielemans – who is out of contract next summer – though it is unclear how high on Ten Hag's list the Belgian sits.

Ten Hag is a huge fan of Scotland midfielder McTominay, who is seen "as a pivotal player in his first team plans".

"United will resist any offers" for the 25-year-old and the report adds that Newcastle, and one other Premier League club, "made tentative enquiries about McTominay's availability earlier in the transfer window".

The midfielder is regarded as untouchable, and although no formal offer has been made, it is believed that United would reject any advances.

£16m target is not keen on Fulham move, Cottagers have had bid rejected

Alex Moreno will not attempt to force through a move to Fulham with Estadio Deportivo reporting that the Premier League target is happy at La Liga outfit Real Betis.

The lure of English football is clearly alive and well.

Joao Palhinha is walking away from Champions League football in order to embark on a fresh challenge at Fulham, potentially putting his place in the Portugal squad ahead of the Qatar World Cup under threat.

But will one of Europe's most swashbuckling left-backs do something similar? Well, not quite.

According to reports coming out of Spain today, Alex Moreno does not have a 'special interest' in a change of scenery.

The former Espanyol flyer is happy and content at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. And while he will run the rule over any offers that come with his way, Moreno is not going to hand in a transfer request any time soon and demand that Betis let him join a Fulham side with big ambitions and deep pockets.

Moreno provided five goals and five assists last season as Manuel Pellegrini's side qualified for Europe while securing their first piece of silverware in two decades, beating Valencia in the Copa del Rey final.

Fulham have bid for Real Betis ace Alex Moreno

The Cottagers made an £8 million bid for Moreno recently. Real Betis want double. And Fulham understandably have reservations about stumping up an eight-figure sum for a player who will be celebrating his 30th birthday within the next 12 months. That may be why the Cottagers appear to be looking elsewhere as August's opening day clash with Liverpool looms on the horizon.

Fulham have also held talks with another La Liga leftie; Javi Galan. But, like Moreno, he is happy in his current home and appears in no rush to leave Celta Vigo.

The same cannot be said of Luca Pellegrini. Juventus' Italy international is almost certain to leave the Serie A giants before the summer is out with Fulham currently in pole position (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Pellegrini is younger than Moreno and cheaper too. Juve will reportedly accept bids in the region of just £12 million.

What is the latest news with Gus Hamer's situation at Coventry amid Fulham interest?

Coventry City now face a battle to keep Gustavo Hamer at the club this summer.

The midfielder has attracted Premier League interest during this transfer window.

However, Fulham have been the first club to step forward and make their interest concrete with an initial offer for the 25-year old, according to The Sun.

Hamer has played well for the Sky Blues in his two seasons with the club so far.

He has made 81 league appearances, making 21 goal contributions in that time.

In the last campaign he scored three and assisted 10 goals as Coventry finished 12th in the Championship table.

It is understood that Fulham boss Marco Silva is a big admirer of Hamer and wants to bring him into the team to upgrade in midfield ahead of their Premier League campaign.

It remains to be seen whether Coventry will accept this initial offer from the Cottagers, with the size of the bid still unknown.

It was previously reported that the Sky Blues' asking price for the Brazil-born player is around the £9-10 million mark.

However, it is unlikely that Fulham would immediately match that due to the nature of transfer negotiations.

Hamer originally arrived at Coventry from Dutch side PEC Zwolle, where he spent two seasons with the Eredivisie side.

The Dutchman graduated from the Feyenoord academy, but never made a league start for the club.

Robins will be hoping that Coventry can maintain Hamer as part of his first team squad as he has become one of the team's most influential figures since his arrival in 2020.

PSV Eindhoven join Fulham in the race for Arsenal 30yo

PSV Eindhoven are interested in signing Bernd Leno from Arsenal this summer, joining newly-promoted Fulham in the race.

Kicker (via GGFN) report that PSV hold an interest in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno this summer.

Leno is open to leaving the Gunners in search of minutes ahead of the World Cup later this year, and has previously been linked with a couple of Premier League clubs.

One of those was Newcastle United, but Newcastle have gone on to sign Nick Pope from relegated Burnley. It seems unlikely they move for another goalkeeper this summer.

The other interested party is Fulham, with fairly substantial links between Leno and the newly-promoted London club this summer.

David Ornstein initially broke the news of the Fulham talks, with Sky Sports later confirming contact between the two clubs.

The Evening Standard also then reported that Fulham are interested in a move for Leno. The goalkeeper held talks with Edu before the end of the season and they reportedly agreed he could leave.

Speaking to the media, Bernd Leno's agent Joannis Koukoutrigas confirmed the reports but insisted nothing is decided.

"Yes, Fulham is trying hard to get Bernd," Koukoutrigas confirmed. "Very professionally. This is also true for some other clubs and shows his status.

"But as I said, for me, he is the number 1 at Arsenal and we are therefore also relaxed."

It sounds like PSV are one of these other clubs, but you'd imagine Leno would want to stay in London and avoid uprooting his family if possible.

Fulham in 'final duel' for winger – Cottagers still 'ahead' in competition

It's been a couple of months since Fulham were first said to be close to completing the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon.

Back in April, reports from the Italian media pointed out the 'real bargain' the club were about to find, and this month it was once again said they were 'one step away' from an agreement for the transfer.

Today, we see that there are other clubs trying to join the competition for the 22-year-old.

French outlet Le10Sport writes that Nice have a strong interest in the player, with manager Lucien Favre making him an 'absolute priority' for the club this summer.

However, the outlet also makes it clear that Fulham 'are ahead' of the Ligue 1 side, as 'an offer has already been submitted'.

The report says there a 'final duel' between Nice and the Cottagers for the signing, as 'no other teams seem able to join' this competition for him. But it still sounds like the French club must make their move, otherwise the winger continues to be closer to London.

Those first reports from Italy said Fulham were about to get the deal done for €8m.
