Fulham waiting on Andreas Pereira to decide future after Manchester United offered £11 million

Fulham are waiting for a decision from Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira after the newly promoted Premier League side offered an £11 million deal to sign the Belgian-born Brazilian. The Sun has reported that the Cottagers are keen to secure the 26-year-old this summer.

Pereira signed for United back in 2011 with Sir Alex Ferguson still the first team manager, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool interested in signing him, but it was Ferguson who made the deal happen. Pereira made his first team debut in the 2014/15 season under Louis van Gaal.

Finding himself surplus to requirements at United, Pereira spent last season in Brazil with Flamengo, scoring seven goals and three assists in 52 appearances in his time at the club. It was believed that he would be signed by the club but they did not want to conclude the pre-arranged deal.

It is believed that Flamengo would like to sign the player permanently but with Fulham's offer of £9 million with a further £2 million in add-ons, the Brazilian club would need to match or better that offer for the deal to be completed. Fulham seem keen on the 26-year-old.

During his time at United, Pereira has excelled in preseason, falling to fulfil the promise he had as a player in the first team, which is why there is no longer a place for him at the club. Don't get me wrong, the lad is talented but not in a way that United would require.

In his eight seasons in the first team, Pereira has made 75 appearances, scoring four goals and five assists. He has seen loan spells with Valencia, Granada and Lazio largely fail with him not achieving the heights expected of him always returning to United for another chance.

Pereira has seen Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær manage the club, being on loan when Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick stepped in temporarily. It has been suggested that Erik ten Hag would like to look at the midfielder, but if he can be sold to bring in more money, that is better.

United have Scott McTominay, Fred, Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek in the midfield currently with James Garner keen to show what he can do. If Frenkie de Jong and Christian Eriksen sign for United, the midfield will be crowded and Pereira would not get an opportunity, in my opinion.

Pereira probably knows that he will be better off away from United as pastures new might rejuvenate him and see him perform consistently, which has been a problem throughout his career. I would be annoyed if he remained at United, given that his contract expires in a years time.

Fulham look to sign Wolfsburg fullback Kevin Mbabu for around £8m, as they see the former Newcastle man as a cheaper alternative to Liverpool's Neco Williams

Neco Williams impressed on loan at Fulham as they won the Championship
The club are unwilling to sign him permanently for Liverpool's £15m asking price
Fulham are instead eyeing Wolfsburg and Switzerland right back Kevin Mbabu

Fulham have held talks over an £8m move for Wolfsburg right-back Kevin Mbabu as they consider cheaper options to Liverpool's Neco Williams.

Fulham have been working through a list of options with former Newcastle defender Mbabu, Williams and ex-Everton full back Djibril Sidibe are all being considered.

Liverpool want £15m for Williams with Nottingham Forest and Southampton also keen on the Wales international while Sidibe is available as a free agent.

Kevin Mbabu previously played Premier League football for Newcastle under Rafa Benitez

Mbabu has one year left on contract and Wolfsburg are open to offers as the 27-year old endured a poor end to the Bundesliga season.

Fulham want up to eight players this summer but have been hindered so far by protracted negotiations.

They had hoped to wrap up the £17m signature of Joao Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon but talks have slowed down amid an alleged dispute between agents.

They have also made an £8.6m bid for Manchester United's Andreas Pereira. The deal could rise to £11m with bonuses and United are keen to accept if the Brazilian midfielder agrees to move to Craven Cottage.

Fulham were promoted to the Premier League for the third time in five years years last season after winning the Championship.

They will be hoping for a longer stay in the top flight this time round, and that Alexander Mitrovic can replicate last season's goal-a-game scoring record.

Fulham target training away from his club – Cottagers move labelled as 'imminent'

Among the many claims about João Palhinha's transfer to Fulham, on Tuesday morning there were claims from the Portuguese media claiming the player would travel to London 'in the coming hours'.

The midfielder is one of the players who had some extra days off, and that's why the local media didn't know if he'd train again with Sporting's squad or not.

It turns out that Record now features a story claiming Palhinha is training on his own in Sacavém, which is near Lisbon. He's been working with a personal coach, André Coelho, who played with him for Sacavense's youth ranks.

Record, who claimed on their website the transfer to Fulham is 'imminent', now only mentioned that he's 'wanted' by the Whites. And they managed to speak to Coelho about the training Palhinha has been getting.

"We performed four training units, during six days, with rest in between. It was a simple work, of explosion, coordination, power and also resistance."

On Tuesday morning, Jornal de Notícias claimed that Palhinha's move to Fulham has been delayed because of a commission issue between Sporting and Jorge Mendes.
