Vålerenga get Premier League players



Vålerenga has signed Swedish defender Fredrik Stoor (26) on a three-year contract. Stoor comes free from the Premier League club Fulham. Stoor's right-back and can also bekle a central defender role.

Stoor played for Rosenborg in 2007 and 2008 before being sold to Fulham for just over 20 million. At Fulham, he has struggled with some playing time and has only been nine games for the first team. In 2009 he was loaned to Derby, where he played 11 games. Stoor has also played 11 caps for Sweden, including three appearances for Sweden at Euro 2008.

- We are very pleased to have in place Fredrik. We have worked with it for a while but have had a great process with Frederick and his advisors, "said sporting director Truls Haakonsen about the transition.

- It has also been a great process with Fulham. Fredrik is a terrific boost for us.

The sack race: Why twitchy chairmen should look at Mark Hughes before pushing the panic button

Mark Hughes was under pressure just before Christmas and Fulham's home defeat to West Ham appeared to really put his neck on the block.

But Fulham's run of two wins out of three - at Stoke and at home to West Brom - has suddenly lifted Hughes and Fulham away from the danger zone.

That's how quickly things can turn around. Chairmen would do well to remember that a club's results can turn around much quicker than a manager goes from being good to bad.

Suddenly a clutch of managers are under pressure, heightened by the fear of missing out on the Premier League gravy train next season.

But only three can go down, and now is not the time to panic. Unless you're Roy Hodgson, Avram Grant or Gerard Houllier, of course.
