Today it was really obvious that Silva didn't have the depth he needed on the bench. Some of the subs didn't make much sense and he probably just did it because he knew he would be criticized if he'd done nothing.

I just say, I was SO impressed with Robinson and Tete today. Had Saka and Martenelli in their pockets all afternoon. And REAM - a real captain.
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

I think if we can keep the current group fit and get our injured players back, and strengthen in one or two more areas, and we continue to play the way we have been, we'll finish mid-table

Yep I agree. The first 4 games have shown that we're a really well organised unit that just needs some more options on the bench for when the game gets a bit stretched and legs start to tire. Can't fault the recruiment of the starters at the minute and the players look Hodgson level organised off the ball. Keep Mitro ticking over, get Wilson and Solomon back with a few additions before the window closing and there's no reason to fear any team, as it appears we haven't so far.

I know it's what we as supporters do and blame every goal conceded on poor defending and every goal scored as brilliant play.

But you might as well blame Mitro for missing a chance. There were no dreadful errors to match the goal we scored. It was a battling performance, one we deserved more out of and hopefully we can bring in more help for the squad for our next match.

I find the slagging off of individual players offensive and unnecessary.  Every player left everything on the pitch. It was a great performance against a very very good side. On another day we would have got a point or even three.
Agree, new players coming on still getting to grips with Silva's style, we do love to slag off our players.
If people noticed Tete was booked so I don't think Silva wanted a second yellow.

Yes, same with Palhinha.

Tete looked shattered to me so I understand why he came off. Unfortunate as he is definitely more defensively solid than Mbabu

+1

Disappointed a bit that we were so close to get a great 1 point in an away game against the team with the best form in the league, but overall MS so far gets the maximum out of this squad and I'm proud of the team. I hope the coaches will be focused with M'babu about 1v1 situations because he was horrific since he came in and I thought this substitute was the difference between getting a point to none, but we'll learn from this and we'll only get better.

About Leno, despite his mistake on the goal we have conceded I can't blame him, he saved us a few times and was great the entire game. He's a main reason we were that close getting a point.

Yes, I thought Mbabu should have come on but in place of BDR just to provide extra support for Tete. I have no doubt Tete was tired but it was one of those games where everyone needed to dig in. And I'm not sure Leno made a mistake for their goal, he had two players on him, our defenders should never let that happen, if someone's in front of the keeper it's the defences job to free him up. But again, they got two goals that on any other day wouldn't have gone in

Speaking of NOWTV, there's a very good deal for one day of Sky Sports , but then 8 months free (but for a mobile phone only)

Just popped up today
The Sky preview had one of the "experts" telling us the team Parker had put out! Promptly hit the mute button.
Is a dream a lie if it don't come true?

I thought we were worth at least a point overall.  Adarabioyo had a tricky opening ten minutes but improved, while Ream was massive throughout and my MOTM.  Officials and VAR absolutely useless as is usual in PL matches involving big clubs v smaller fry.  Arsenal wanted a fight and we gave them one but that goal from the corner should never have been allowed in a month of Sundays but looking for a handball rather than a foul on the keeper was a joke given the angles they used.  VAR must be rigged because otherwise the IQ of all the operators added together must be a minus number.

Yesterday it was poor defending, could those goals been prevented, yes, several opportunities to stop them.

In the last 2 matches we've conceded from corners. If we did that in the remaining 34 matches, that's 34 goals conceded, if we don't cut out those errors.

Proper fan who sees it as it is.

I thought we really played well. Eight of the starting line up played last season. Tim Ream has really shut me right up. Superb captain as well. Annoyed they didn't show Neeskins' run from our half  that if he had have ended up squaring to Pereria he would have had an open goal.  As well after their 2nd goal we didn't sag and could have equalised.

The only downer was Alan Smith's biased punditry. How he flowered when they scored their second goal. 'Brilliant! Wonderful display!'

We deserved a point. Well played lads.  :54:

The only mistake was taking Tete off and putting Mbabu on - they had no end of joy down our right after that sub was made. Other than that we were fantastic, just needed some pace off the bench because Arsenal were really stretched in the second half

Agree
Tete got booked, I'm sure Silva didn't want him booked again and sent off.
As for having a go at Mbapu, we have seen Martinelli turn top class defenders inside out on numerous occasions.

I'm not having a go at Mbabu, it's just a fact that Martinelli didn't beat Tete once and then managed to get round Mbabu 3 times at least. Tete played against Diaz and Salah on a yellow for 70 mins and didn't get sent off so not sure the logic follows there either

Cobh Fulham Fan

Arsenal Fan saying Mitro was man of the match?  - no it was Leno, and the same fan wasnt happy that Leno is at Fulham.

Yes, I agree that Fulham was worth a point today. Arsenal were the better side but Fulham definitely gave Arsenal their toughest game in four.    Four games in - My confidence is up further that we are staying up in this league this time around and could well finish near the top half.

There was one word of wisdom in that interview with that Arsenal supporter and it was while Fulham are looking very dangerous at this stage of the campaign, we might fade later due to a light squad if any of the current player get injuries down the road. He cited the Crawley game as an example of how vulnerable we are in that regard.  Perhaps he wasnt aware that we already had a few first team players out with injuries, but he is right!

Anyway - another great performance by the lads yesterday!

Moved to 5 at the back which changed our shape too in fairness. Silva might have hoped that Mbabu would be able to use his pace down the wing on the counter.

VAR must be rigged because otherwise the IQ of all the operators added together must be a minus number.

For me, an obvious enhancement would be to utilise technology that only shows the VAR officials images of anonymised team A against team B to ensure an impartial view. But of course, they'll never allow that.
