Fulham have 'total agreement' with club for signing – Player with PL experience 'travels to London'

Fulham have reached an agreement with Benfica for the transfer of Carlos Vinícius, as per multiple claims coming out of Portugal.

Last summer, the Primeira Liga side allowed the forward join PSV Eindhoven on a two-year loan deal with an option to buy. A Bola claim his stay in the Netherlands will be cut short so that he can head to the English club.

It's claimed Fulham will pay €5m to the Eagles, with the latter set to receive 50% of a fee from the Brazilian's future sale.

A Bola's report is backed up by Record, who add the overall cost of the operation could rise to €11m if bonuses are included. These two claims are echoed by journalist Pedro Sepúlveda.

Sepúlveda took to Twitter to say there is a 'total agreement' between Marco Silva's side and Benfica for the South American's sale. The journalist states Carlos Vinícius 'travels to London' on Thursday to seal his move to Fulham.

Silva and co will add an attacker to their squad who has the experience of playing in the Premier League as Carlos Vinícius had a spell on loan at Tottenham Hotspur during the 2020/21 season.

Fulham player closing in on temporary EFL exit

There could be a player exit on the horizon for Fulham, with Sylvester Jasper set to sign for Bristol Rovers on a loan deal according to Bristol Live.

The player has already made his Cottagers debut, featuring twice for them in the Championship as a teenager. Now, he could be set for a move back down to the EFL and to League One this time with the Gas.

Last season, the midfielder spent some time out on a short-term deal again with Hibernian in Scotland. It was the first time he had tried his luck in the Scottish Premiership and managed a haul of 13 games in the division, with five starts.

He's also played football in the fourth tier too with Colchester, where he managed three goal contributions in just 11 starts for the side. Now, with the player having shown what he is capable of in League Two, he will now be allowed to try his luck a division higher with Bristol Rovers.

Joey Barton is trying to continue his side's momentum and upward trajectory and that means ensuring his side are fully equipped for a run at the promotion places in the third tier perhaps this campaign. That could mean some more additions before the window comes to a close and one of the latest names heading in could be Jasper.

A deal would see him link up with the side on a short-term basis, with Fulham unable to offer him playing time in the Premier League this season. It will allow him to get even more competitive football under his belt and could help the Gas to push on this campaign.

The Verdict

Sylvester Jasper has proven he can be a solid squad player in League Two and whilst he probably didn't get as much action as he would have liked in Scotland, a move to League One could get him back on track.

The 20-year-old player has been solid when he does get on the field though – three goal contributions for Colchester in very few starts shows that – and he could thrive given regular action again in the third tier. He might not be a first-team starter straight away but Barton knows how to get the best out of his team and could manage him well.

It's better for the midfielder too to get out and play some competitive football. By staying at Fulham, he would likely have to either sit on the bench or even miss out on the squad completely because of the fact they are currently in the top flight of English football rather than the Championship.

Jasper then sealing a transfer move to Bristol Rovers could really help the player to continue to thrive this campaign.

Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Fulham - prediction, team news, lineups

Tottenham Hotspur will seek an immediate return to winning ways in the Premier League when Fulham make the journey across the capital for Saturday's London derby.

Antonio Conte's side were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham United in midweek, while the Cottagers got the better of Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1.

Match preview
VAR officials will not be getting too chummy with Antonio Conte anytime soon, as the Spurs manager pulled no punches following Wednesday's 1-1 draw at West Ham, where Thilo Kehrer's own goal was cancelled out by a second-half Tomas Soucek effort.

Spurs thought they had been awarded a penalty when the ball struck Aaron Cresswell on the arm in the first half, but referee Peter Bankes overturned the decision when he was sent to look at the monitor, which prompted a lengthy tirade from Conte after the game.

The Tottenham boss cannot deny that West Ham were presented with the best chances to take maximum points on the night, but the Lilywhites' 11-point haul is currently good enough for third place behind champions Manchester City and North London rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham can close the gap on the perfect Gunners to just one point before their capital counterparts face Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, but there is the small matter of their Champions League opener with Marseille to take into account next Wednesday.

Conte's men can take confidence in the fact that they have now strung together an 11-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League, as well as winning each of their last five top-flight matches on home soil, but Fulham are taking to life back in the top flight with professionalism and aplomb.

Trying to end Arsenal's perfect start to the new season was a step too far for Fulham, but handing Brighton their first defeat of the 2022-23 campaign was on the agenda for Marco Silva's side, who continue to make waves in the top division.

Aleksandar Mitrovic's fifth goal of the season and Lewis Dunk's own goal put Fulham two up before Alexis Mac Allister managed to restore parity from the penalty spot, but there was to be no dramatic late comeback for the Seagulls at Craven Cottage.

Boasting a respectable eight points from the first 15 points on offer, Fulham are currently competing in the upper echelons of the table as they lie in seventh place, but they could be knocked out of the European spots if Manchester United get the better of Leicester City on Thursday evening.

On a more pessimistic note, Fulham are still waiting for their first away win in any competition this season after also going down 2-0 to Crawley Town in an EFL Cup giant killing, and they also failed to win any of their last three Championship games on the road last term.

Fulham managed to hold Tottenham to a 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the 2020-21 Premier League season, but the Lilywhites ran out 1-0 winners at Craven Cottage and are unbeaten in seven against their London rivals since 2013.

Tottenham Hotspur Premier League form:

Fulham Premier League form:

Fulham form (all competitions):

Team News
Tottenham had Oliver Skipp back on the bench for the draw with West Ham after the midfielder recovered from a small fracture in his heel, and there is also hope that Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur will be back in the squad this weekend too.

Neither Bryan Gil nor Lucas Moura were available for the showdown with West Ham, and the latter is facing an unspecified period of time out with a tendon issue, but Richarlison is ahead of him in the pecking order anyway.

Conte may consider handing a start to the ex-Everton man with rotation in mind this week, which could also benefit Ryan Sessegnon's chances of displacing Ivan Perisic on the left-hand side.

As for Fulham, Silva is still without long-term absentees Harry Wilson and Manor Solomon, but Shane Duffy will be back in the fold after being ineligible to face parent club Brighton.

However, Silva has no reason to alter a winning formula as Tim Ream and Tosin Adarabioyo once again protect Bernd Leno, who has seemingly demoted Marek Rodak to the bench for good.

Nathaniel Chalobah and Tom Cairney can expect to provide impetus as substitutes here, with Harrison Reed, Andreas Pereira and Joao Palhinha occupying the spaces in the middle of the park.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:
Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Sessegnon; Richarlison, Kane, Son

Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Tete, Ream, Adarabioyo, Robinson; Reed, Palhinha; Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Kebano; Mitrovic

We say: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Fulham

With the ever-present nuisance that is Mitrovic proving that he is capable of turning up the heat in the Premier League, Fulham should feel confident about their chances of breaching a Tottenham defence that were under the cosh for large periods against West Ham.

However, Tottenham have demonstrated a consistent ability to grind out results in front of their own fans, and the added incentive of piling the pressure on Arsenal - coupled with Fulham's struggles on rival turf - should help Conte's side edge a close contest before attention turns to the Champions League.

Fulham: Cottagers ready to make Dan James move

Fulham could be set to make a late move for Leeds United winger Daniel James, according to ESPN journalist James Olley.

The Welshman arrived at Elland Road last summer after being brought in by former Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa but has found it difficult to make a lasting impression under Jesse Marsch and has therefore now been linked with a move away from Yorkshire.

Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur submitted a loan-to-buy offer for the 24-year-old earlier this week, but it seems as though a potential hijack of Antonio Conte's deal is on, and it comes in the form of the Cottagers.

The Latest: Fulham to make late James move

Taking to Twitter, Olley stated that Fulham are 'ready to pay' James' asking price, but he added that the decision would ultimately come down to the player.

He wrote: "Update on Dan James in ESPN's Transfer Talk. Leeds want £20m to sell. Spurs so far only shown willingness to take him on loan, with possible option. Fulham ready to pay asking price but player would need convincing. All possibilities (inc staying) open."

The Verdict: Perfect for Silva

James should be looking for a fresh start if he genuinely seeks more game-time, having been in and out of Marsch's starting line-up in the early weeks of the season, and with Fulham willing to splash the cash, this could be a move which would suit both parties.

The forward clocked up five assists and four goals for the Whites in the top flight last season (Transfermarkt) and has the versatility to play as a central striker and out wide, having covered for Patrick Bamford when he was out injured.

The former Red Devils starlet could flourish under the guidance of Marco Silva if given the chance and could add a different dimension to the final third, so Fulham should do everything that they can to steal James from under Spurs' nose in the concluding hours of the summer transfer window.

Bristol Rovers poised to snap up Fulham talent

Bristol Rovers are close to recruiting Fulham winger Sylvester Jasper on a season-long loan deal, Bristol Live has said.

Bristol Rovers have been in the market for new recruits after losing the likes of Elliot Anderson, Sam Nicholson and Luke Thomas at the end of last season.

Their search has led them to deadline day, with a matter of hours before the window left before it slams shut until January. Now though, with news of a nearing deal, the Gas' search for a new winger looks to be on the brink of ending.

As per a report from Bristol Live, Bristol Rovers are set to secure a loan deal for Fulham youngster Jasper.

The 20-year-old spent time with Hibernian and Colchester United last season and now looks set for a shot in League One. He has found the vast majority of his game time with Fulham's U21s to date, notching up 14 goals and 18 assists in 41 outings for the young Cottagers.

An ideal addition?

Barton's wingers were a key part of his success last season. They showed no fear in getting on the ball and taking on their man, and Jasper likes to do exactly that.

Although his goal and assist record at senior level isn't the most eye-catching, he's a nuisance for full-backs when running directly at them. His exciting footwork can get the crowd buzzing and often creates chances for those snooping around in the box.

Jasper will be determined to prove himself in what will be his first shot in League One, so Bristol Rovers will be hoping they can get the best out of the Bulgaria U21 international as he nears a move to the Memorial Stadium.

Fulham launch Ben Brereton Diaz bid and target Carlos Vinicius with Willian and Layvin Kurzawa deals done

Fulham have made an initial offer for Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz as they aim for at least one attacking signing before the transfer window shuts.

The prolific Chile international has plenty of Premier League interest and could move despite his match-winning display in the Championship last night.

Brereton Diaz is also wanted by Everton and Aston Villa and is said to be valued at around £15million.

His goals have helped Blackburn push for promotion, they currently sit in fifth place after his efforts last year which saw him score 22 goals in 37 league matches.

The offer comes after Fulham missed out on signing Roma's Justin Kluivert in an £11m deal that collapsed over work permit bureaucracy.

Reports in Portugal also suggest that Fulham have made a £5m plus add-ons offer for former Tottenham striker Carlos Vinicius, who is now at Portuguese giants Benfica.

The Cottagers have sealed two other transfers which will be announced on deadline day. Former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian has completed his contract signing and medical, with an announcement now imminent.

Similarly, left-back Layvin Kurzawa's loan move from Paris Saint-Germain is completed and will be announced in due course.

Fulham duo set for pre-deadline moves

Fulham pair Tyrese Francois and Marlon Fossey are set to complete moves away from Craven Cottage.

Midfielder Francois, 22 (pictured above), who had looked likely to leave the Whites at the end of last season before finally signing a new two-year contract in July, is undergoing a medical with Croatian side HNK Gorica ahead of a season-long move.

Full-back Fossey, who spent time on loan with Bolton last season, has rejected offers of a new contract from the club and closing in on a move to Belgian side Standard Liege.

Both players, who have developed through Fulham's academy, played in the recent 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Crawley.

Fulham now most likely to sign 17-goal star Arsenal were quoted £60m for

Fulham are now in pole position to sign Espanyol's Spain international Raul de Tomas following Premier League interest from Aston Villa, Everton and Arsenal, as reported by the Daily Mail (1 September, 10.20am).

The Cottagers appear to be prioritising a new centre-forward on deadline day.

Former Tottenham Hotspur loanee Carlos Vinicius is a target, a la Blackburn's Ben Brereton-Diaz. So too the £20 million-rated Raul de Tomas, a prolific penalty-box poacher who has been targeted by, amongst others, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich since the turn of the year.

"Arsenal called for Raul de Tomas," Espanyol director Jose Maria Duran admitted in January. "But we didn't even want to talk. We won't let him go now, no way. His release clause is 75m euros (£60m)."

Fulham hope to bring in La Liga hitman Raul de Tomas

Nine months on, Espanyol may be willing to consider offers in the region of £20 million. The Mail believe that a loan exit is also on the cards, with the Periquitos hoping to get the one-time Real Madrid and Benfica forward off the wage bill. Barcelona misfit Martin Braithwaite will reportedly replace De Tomas at the RCDE Stadium.

An emphatic finisher and a relentless press conference, the four-time Spain international scored an excellent 17 La Liga goals for a mid-table Espanyol last season. In fact, he's found the net 101 times since the beginning of the 2016/17 campaign.

De Tomas hasn't played a minute so far this term, however. According to Football Espana, the 27-year-old doesn't see eye-to-eye with new Espanyol coach Diego Martinez; leading to his absence from the first-team picture in recent weeks.

De Tomas would compete with the in-form Aleksandr Mitrovic for a starting spot at Fulham.

Transfer deadline day: Fulham defender Marlon Fossey linked with Standard Liege switch

Former Wanderers loanee Marlon Fossey has been linked with a move to Belgian club Standard Liege.

Fossey impressed for the Whites at wing-back during the second half of last season after joining on loan from Fulham.

The 23-year-old managed a goal and four assists in 15 appearances before his campaign was cut short by a knee injury.

Fossey is now in talks over a permanent move to Standard Liege, according to a report from Sky Sports.

He is into the final year of his contract and has previously turned down the offer of an extension from the London club.

The wing-back has made one appearance for Fulham this season, starting in the 2-0 defeat against Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup just over a week ago.

Standard Liege are managed by former Celtic boss Ronny Deila and are currently 11th in the Belgian top-flight, having picked up seven points from their opening six matches.

Wanderers had been linked with a move for Fossey this summer prior to Conor Bradley's arrival on loan from Liverpool.

The Northern Ireland international has hit the ground running in League One and was on target in the wins against Salford City and Morecambe.

Ian Evatt revealed that Bradley was actually the club's top target during the January transfer window prior to Fossey's arrival.

Wanderers have also brought in Jack Iredale, James Trafford, Eoin Toal and more recently Owen Beck this summer as they aim to compete for a place near the top end of League One.

Fulham close in on £5m Carlos Vinicius after hijacking deadline day deal

Fulham are closing in on a £5million deal to sign former Tottenham striker Carlos Vinicius from PSV Eindhoven, hijacking his loan at Benfica.

The Dutch giants will be due a sizeable sell-on clause and bonuses depending on performances, which has kept the initial fee low.

It remains to be seen whether the Cottagers will follow up their initial bid for Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz with the signing of the Brazilian striker now highly likely.

The Cottagers have wanted to strengthen their attacking reinforcements after losing Shakhtar Donestsk loan star Manor Solomon to a long-term knee injury without him making an appearance.

An £11m move for Justin Kluivert collapsed earlier this week after a work permit application was denied.

Kluivert's appearances for Nice last season were discounted towards the points system used by the Football Association.

The signing of Vinicius should be one of three deals confirmed today, with former Arsenal and Chelsea winger Willian and Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa being lined up.

Willian joins on a free transfer after a successful two-week trial, while Kurzawa joins on a loan with 50 per cent of his wages being paid by the Ligue 1 giants.

Fulham 'to sign former Tottenham Hotspur forward Carlos Vinicius'

Fulham are reportedly closing in on the signing of Benfica forward Carlos Vinicius.

The Cottagers have enjoyed a fantastic start to their first season back in the Premier League, collecting eight points from their opening five matches.

Aleksandar Mitrovic has already netted five times and the Serbia international is the undisputed first choice down the middle of the attack.

However, Marco Silva is eager to bring in backup to his leading marksman, resulting in him scouring the market for a quality alternative.

According to Record, that has resulted in Fulham approaching Benfica in an attempt to secure a deal for Carlos Vinicius.

The 27-year-old has just started the second year of a two-year loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, who possess the option to sign the player in 2023.

However, the Brazilian has never held down a regular first-team role at the Dutch side, making 13 starts and 21 substitute appearances in all competitions.

The situation is further complicated by the Dutch transfer window having already closed, preventing PSV from signing a replacement who can compete with Luuk de Jong for a starting spot.

Nevertheless, the report claims that Fulham are ready to sign Carlos Vinicius for £9.5m if an agreement can be reached with all parties.

The player is no stranger to English football having spent a year on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring nine goals in all competitions during 2020-21.

As backup to Harry Kane, however, he was restricted to just three starts in the Premier League, a further seven coming in domestic and European tournaments.

Fulham Consider Loan Move For Leeds United Star

Fulham are weighing up making a loan move for Leeds United winger Daniel James on deadline day, according to the Evening Standard.

Leeds have given James permission to talk to clubs over a potential move away from Elland Road today.

He is not a major part of Jesse Marsch's plans and Leeds are open to letting the player go before the window closes tonight.

Tottenham have an interest in him but the north London club are not the frontrunners to land the Welshman on deadline day.

Another London club in the form of Fulham hold an interest in the player and are considering signing him.

The Cottagers are weighing up tabling an offer for the winger with Leeds before the window closes tonight.

Fulham have failed with a bid for Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz and are now probing the possibility of getting James.

The Leeds star could want to leave Elland Road with an eye on playing time ahead of the World Cup.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds would be prepared to accept a loan offer for the winger today.

Tottenham flop Carlos Vinicius 'set to move to Fulham in deal worth up to £9.5m'... as Marco Silva acts quickly after Justin Kluivert move collapses due to work permit issues

Carlos Vinicius played just nine league games on loan at Tottenham in 2020-21
But Fulham are reportedly set to hand the forward a second chance in England
He joined PSV on a two-year loan last summer, but that deal would be cut short
Benfica are said to be securing a 50% sell-on close as part of the transfer

Fulham are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Tottenham flop Carlos Vinicius from Benfica.

Marco Silva is set to hand the Brazilian forward a second chance in England following his underwhelming loan spell at Spurs in the 2020-21 season.

Vinicius played just nine Premier League games for the north London club, starting only three of those and scoring once.

But Marco Silva is reportedly set to hand the Brazilian forward a second chance in England

He found more joy in cup competitions though, netting nine goals in 13 appearances across the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, Fulham will pay an initial £4.3million for Vinicius but the deal could eventually be worth up to £9.5million. The report adds that Benfica will secure a 50% sell-on clause.

The 27-year-old joined PSV on a two-year loan last summer, but that deal would be cut short to allow him to move to Craven Cottage.

He scored seven goals in 36 games for the Dutch side last season and has featured twice so far in the new campaign.

Fulham's move for Roma's Justin Kluivert has collapsed because he was denied a work permit

Fulham have secured seven new signings this summer following their return to the Premier League, but have only made one new addition to their attack - Israeli winger Manor Solomon on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, the 23-year-old is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he requires knee surgery, while the Cottagers' move for Roma's Justin Kluivert has collapsed because the Dutchman was denied a work permit.

Aleksandar Mitrovic has started the season in sensational form with five goals in five games, but Silva is keen to support the Serbian in the final third.

Fulham continue to go after Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz as the clock ticks towards the deadline, while Marseille forward Bamba Dieng is another target but is expected to sign for Leeds.

Romano: Leeds close to sending Dan James to Fulham on loan

Hahahahahahaha

Looks like Leeds isn't waiting around for Tottenham Hotspur to make up their minds about whether or not to sign Dan James. According to Fabrizio Romano, James is now very close to a deadline day loan move to Fulham.

Fulham was one of the other clubs nominally linked with a move for James, but it appears as though this has accelerated quite quickly over the past few hours. This is more evidence that Tottenham is probably pretty unlikely to make any transfer moves today unless Fabio Paratici manages to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

Interestingly, Fulham is making ANOTHER Tottenham-adjacent move today, with reports out of Portugal suggesting that they have reached an agreement to sign Carlos Vinicius, who spent a season on loan at Spurs two years ago, for €5m + 50% of his economic rights.

THAT deal seems a little weird (pretty sure dual ownership is illegal in the Premier League) but it does set up the banterrific possibility that both James and Vinicius could score on us this coming Saturday.

Chelsea now have shock 'interest' in £50k-a-week star at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea making a move for Leeds United winger Dan James could be something to look out for today, says journalist Simon Phillips.

While the likes of Tottenham and Fulham are thought to be in for the 24-year-old, Phillips has told GIVEMESPORT that he has heard Chelsea's name come up as a potential destination.

What is the latest news involving James?
According to Sky Sports, three Premier League clubs are interested in signing James before the transfer window closes tonight.

Those three outfits are not specified in the report, but two of them are likely to be Tottenham and Fulham.

Earlier this week, the reliable Fabrizio Romano claimed that Tottenham had discussed signing James on loan with an option to buy with Leeds.

As for Fulham, ESPN's James Olley has stated that they are also keen on the £50,000-a-week Welshman and are willing to pay £20m to acquire his services.

What has Phillips said about James and Chelsea?
Phillips has told GIVEMESPORT that Chelsea could also end up in the hunt for James, though he expects Craven Cottage to be his final destination rather than Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "Dan James, he's very close to Fulham. Fulham are working hard to sign him. Sky Sports are reporting that three Premier League clubs are in for him. I'm not saying that one of them is Chelsea, but he's a name that I was given yesterday, that Chelsea are interested.

"I kind of refused to believe it, but I mean, there could be some interest there, a name Chelsea have spoken about, so that's one to watch. But he does look close to Fulham."

Revelation emerges on Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton-Diaz amid Everton and Fulham links

Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton-Diaz trained with his teammates this morning with no fresh offers coming in for him at this stage, according to Sky Sports (1/9; 13:05).

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Everton and Fulham in recent days, with the latter submitting a bid for the Chilean yesterday as they attempted to beat the Toffees to his signature.

That offer fell way short of Rovers' asking price – but they are expected to launch a second bid at some point between now and 11pm as Marco Silva looks to apply the finishing touches to his squad.

Frank Lampard's side, meanwhile, previously looked like front runners to secure his signature and are on the prowl for another forward despite securing an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion for Neal Maupay.

However, a move away doesn't seem to be imminent for the Chilean at this stage, with the forward starting in Rovers' 1-0 victory against Blackpool last night and scoring the winning goal to give his side a much-needed boost.

Training with his teammates this morning as well, he may be set to remain under the guidance of Jon Dahl Tomasson despite several other sides including Aston Villa also believed to be weighing up a move for him.

The Verdict:

There will be mixed emotions for Blackburn supporters if he does stay – because they will be desperate to keep their talisman to give themselves the best chance of competing at the right end of the table this term.

And at this stage of the window, they would probably find it incredibly difficult to recruit a replacement now with just hours left to go until the deadline passes.

Although they have brought in George Hirst, another striker would be needed to fill the void the 23-year-old's departure would create, and they aren't guaranteed to get one at this stage with many clubs desperate to hold on to their prized assets.

The downside of keeping Brereton-Diaz though is the possibility of losing him for free, with Nice and Celta Vigo both interested in luring him away from Ewood Park on a pre-contract deal in January.

Losing him for nothing would be gutting and it may end up affecting the transfer business they will be able to do in future windows, so it will be interesting to see whether he does make a move today or not.

Fulham win race for Dan James as loan deal agreed with Leeds on deadline day

Leeds winger Dan James is on the verge of joining Fulham on a season-long loan deal.

The 24-year-old had interest from Tottenham and Everton but is now set to move to Craven Cottage.

With Leeds signing Marseille forward Bamba Dieng, who was also a target for Fulham, James has been given the all clear to join up with Marco Silva's men.

The Wales international will now travel to west London to complete a medical and sign a year-long deal.

Fulham moved fast to wrap up the attacker after failing to land key target Justin Kluivert from Roma.

An £11million deal had been agreed between all parties, only for it to collapse when a work permit was denied.

James is now due to be announced, along with deals for Carlos Vinicius from PSV Eindhoven, free agent Willian and Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa, on a busy transfer deadline day.

Fulham set to sign Benfica striker Vinicius

Fulham look on course to sign Brazilian striker Carlos Vinicius from Benfica.

The arrival of the 27-year-old, who spent time on loan at Spurs in the 2020/21 season – scoring one goal in nine appearances – will end Marco Silva's quest for a striker to back-up the in-form Alekasandar Mitrovic.

Meanwhile, forward Ivan Cavaleiro, young midfielder Tyrese Francois and full-back Marlon Fossey are set to exit Craven Cottage

Cavaleiro has barely featured since Marco Silva's appointment last year and is on the verge of a loan switch to Greek side Olympiakos.

Francois had looked likely to leave the Whites at the end of last season before finally signing a new two-year contract, is joining Croatian outfit HNK Gorica on a season-long loan.

American full-back Fossey is hoping to finalise a permanent move to Belgian side Standard Liege having refused to sign a new contract with the club.

Fossey spent time on loan at Bolton last year and made his first-team debut for Fulham in the Carabao Cup defeat to Crawley last month.

Report: Player Spurs passed on for £41m is now set to join Fulham

According to Portuguese outlet, Record, Carlos Vinicius is set to join Fulham.

This, of course, won't be the Brazilian's first time around in the Premier League, he spent the 2020/21 season at Tottenham on loan, but sadly, his time in north London wasn't the best.

Indeed, fresh off of winning the Golden Boot in Portugal, Vinicius headed to Spurs on loan with high expectations – a £41m option to buy was even included in the deal, but, understandably, he couldn't oust Harry Kane from the starting XI and he scored just one league goal that season.

Spurs, understandably, opted against using their option to buy the Brazilian, and another loan to PSV followed.

However, he's now set to return to the Premier League and London with Fulham in a deal that could eventually be worth £10m.

Unfortunately for Vinicius, despite Fulham's stature in comparison to Spurs, he may also struggle to break into the Cottagers' starting XI in the same way he struggled at Tottenham.

Indeed, while Aleksandar Mitrovic isn't quite at Harry Kane's level, he's just as important to Fulham as Kane is for Spurs, and it's tough to see the Serbian being dropped at any point.

However, Fulham have often looked like a 4-4-2 out of possession this season with Andreas Pereira pushing right up alongside and even beyond Mitrovic at a number of points this season, so perhaps Vinicius could slot into the side in place of Pereira at times as Fulham look to rotate their squad.

Vinicius is going to get his second chance to prove himself in the Premier League, and who knows? Perhaps the striker could show Tottenham that they should've forked out the £41m to sign him back in 2021.

Exclusive: West Brom in race for Fulham loan midfielder Josh Onomah

Albion are interested in a loan move for Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah, it is understood.

The Baggies are battling interest from fellow Championship clubs, including Queens Park Rangers, for the 25-year-old's services.

Onomah, a former Tottenham youth product, has previously had a loan spell with Steve Bruce at Villa before joining Fulham on a permanent deal in 2019.

He has made 54 appearances in all competitions for the Whites, including 11 in the Premier League.

Bruce is keen to bolster his midfield having allowed Alex Mowatt to leave on loan for Middlesbrough. Albion were beaten to the loan signing of Manchester United's Hannibal Mejbri by Blues.

Albion are keen on another forward, a midfielder and a defensive recruit on deadline day, which ends at 11pm.
