Major triple Fulham blow gives West Ham a massive boost ahead of clash after injury to star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic

A major triple Fulham blow gives West Ham a massive boost ahead of their clash this weekend after an injury to star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

West Ham welcome Fulham to the London Stadium on Sunday with a real chance to record rare back-to-back Premier League wins.

A 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend alleviated pressure that had been building on West Ham boss David Moyes.

Meanwhile Fulham, who have made an excellent start to life back in the top flight, were beaten 4-1 by Newcastle.

West Ham's win lifted them out of the bottom three.

And Moyes knows another victory over London rivals Fulham will see them rise up in and around their opponents in midtable.

Major triple Fulham blow gives West Ham a massive boost ahead of clash after injury to star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic
Most Premier League games are so tight and fiercely competitive these days. So managers will take any advantage they can get.

It seems West Ham will have a big one for Sunday's meeting with the Cottagers.

Because a major triple Fulham blow gives West Ham a massive boost ahead of the clash after an injury to star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Fulham boss Marco Silva has admitted he has big injury doubts over in-form striker Mitrovic and defender Layvin Kurzawa (West London Sport, FPL Preview).

And Nathaniel Chalobah will also miss the West Ham game after his dismissal in Fulham's heavy defeat last time out.

Mitrovic lasted just 34 minutes of the defeat to Newcastle and had to be withdrawn with the injury.

Without Mitrovic West Ham will seriously fancy their chances of beating Fulham.

And back-to-back wins will be just the springboard the Hammers need to kickstart their domestic season.

Before that game West Ham have a trip to Mitrovic's old club Anderlecht in the Europa Conference League on Thursday evening.

Maxwel Cornet is Moyes' only fresh injury concern heading into that game and he too may be a doubt for Fulham depending on the outcome of a scan on a knock picked up against Wolves.

West Ham face Fulham in a 2pm kick off on Sunday.

Former Premier League midfielder reveals Derby County transfer interest and what happened next

Latest Derby County news from Derbyshire Live brings you what the midfielder has spoken about what happened in the summer

Former Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald has revealed how he was "potentially" going to join the Rams this summer.

The ex-Wolves ace was on trial at the Rams in pre-season and played in the first friendly game which was a victory over League Two side Bradford City.

But he picked up an injury and a move to Pride Park under previous interim boss Liam Rosenior never materialised. McDonald was a free agent after leaving Dundee United where he played 11 games for the Scottish Premier League side.

The midfielder is a firm favourite at Fulham having made 128 appearances in all competitions and scoring six goals.

He played a key role in helping the Cottagers win promotion to the Premier League on two occasions and picked up the Forever Fulham award at the weekend.

He is currently training with the Cottagers with the aim of moving into coaching as he spoke about his plans for the future.

McDonald said: "I picked up a little injury when I was away to potentially sign with Derby. I've (since) been in with the 23s (at Fulham) and I'm going to do some coaching as well. The club again have been unbelievable with me and it's nice to be back as well."

Hammer set for two-week absence

Maxwel Cornet will definitely miss the game against Anderlecht tomorrow evening (Thursday) and will also be absent when the team take on Fulham on Sunday.

After having scans, it appears the new £17.5 million signing injured his thigh when being forced off early against Wolves and will definitely miss the two games as a result.

A Hammers source told us: "Maxwel has been scanned and yes, has a thigh injury, We exopect him to be out for up to 14 days."

Cornet has been singularly unlucky since arriving from Burnley having seen what the world believed was a perfectly good goal ruled out via a shocking VAR decision at Stamford Bridge before his latest setback on Saturday at the London Stadium.

He is set to miss games now against Fulham of course, Southampton and probably Liverpool at Anfield with his most likely reappearance coming in the game against Bournemouth on October 24.

Ben Johnson is available for the Fulham game and as reported earlier Nayef Aguerd is making progress whilst training on grass.

Chelsea now eye ambitious move for Aleksandar Mitrovic

Whispers surrounding Chelsea's interest in Aleksandar Mitrovic have began to emerge, following the Serbian international's prominent form in this year's Premier League campaign.

What's the word?
That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones who has informed GIVEMESPORT of the murmurs surrounding Mitrovic's future, having garnered interest from some of league's biggest outfits through his emphatic start to the season.

Jones has expressed that whilst there is not currently anything "specific" in regards to concrete rumours, there are whispers around Chelsea's ambition to sign him, with the club thought to be monitoring his progress.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the insider said: "At the moment, there's not really anything in this specific rumour, but it won't be too long.

"I mean, there are murmurs that Chelsea are looking at Mitrovic, and if you score this many goals, then other teams will be looking at you too."

All-star scorer
There is no doubt that the 28-year-old Mitrovic is now in, if not entering, the prime of his career. He is taking games by the scruff of the neck, and scoring goals for fun in the top-flight this season, proving himself as a certified Premier League goalscorer along the way, having scored a total of 30 goals during his five stints in the league.

Six goals in just eight Premier League starts, following up from a record-breaking Championship goal-scoring campaign that saw the Serbian international hit 43 goals in 44 games is nothing short of astounding.

If he can keep up those returns once he recovers from his ankle injury, Europe's elite will be forced to stand up and take notice.

There is no doubt that Mitrovic would be a golden asset to Graham Potter's side, with his ability to get goals from nothing an unteachable attribute that he is truly blessed with.

Averaging around 2.2 shots on target per game in a Fulham side that has created just eight big chances bodes well for the Blues, who have accrued the same amount of big chances as the Craven Cottage outfit.

This total is bound to improve under Potter, which would theoretically see Serbia's all-time top goalscorer, Mitrovic, shine with more opportunities to tap home.

Fulham U21 0-0 Valencia U21

Fulham Under-21s got themselves a point on the board in the Premier League International Cup on Wednesday, drawing 0-0 with Valencia at Craven Cottage.

We made only three changes for our European youth night. Stefan Parkes came in for Ibane Bowat at left-back, whilst further up the pitch, Luke Harris and Olly Sanderson replaced Kristian Šekularac and an injured Terry Ablade respectively.

Fulham made a decent start, with both sides battling for early control. Matt Dibley-Dias tried to find Sanderson with a curving delivery, but it flew out for a goal kick.

Parkes needed to be alert up the other end, reacting quicker than Jesus Perez before clearing the danger.

The Spanish visitors had the ball in a dangerous area soon after. Yarek Hernandis headed just wide after the ball bobbled around the area. The delivery from the wide free-kick was a good one.

Valencia created a decent opportunity for themselves as we approached the 15-minute mark. A brilliant cross was delivered towards a Valencia forward, whose free header drifted just wide. George Wickens was rooted to the spot.

We responded quickly. A ball over the top released Luke Harris through on goal, but his touch let him down and the chance slipped away. Steve Wigley would have been encouraged to see his side find one of their target men in a good position.

The boys played some great football to create a decent opening before the break. O'Neill spun his defender before sliding the ball across the edge of the area towards Harris. The Welshman's low strike bobbled inches wide.

An energetic opening half was brought to an end with the game goalless.

The away side threatened first after the break. Rodrigo Rodrigues received the ball on the left side of the Fulham area before watching as his powerful effort was blocked, flying out for a corner.

Luciano D'Auria-Henry played a neat one-two with Harris on 55 minutes, but as he ran into the area, he was quickly closed down by goalkeeper Carlos Sanchez before he could fire the ball across goal.

Centre-back Charlie Robinson came to the rescue for his side on the hour mark. The ball was pulled back from the right to a Valencia midfielder, whose effort was heroically blocked by a Robbo at full stretch!

Diego Noguerol poked the ball just wide from the resulting corner. We were close to going behind.

D'Auria-Henry made a great intercepton for us before being caught on the ball himself on the edge of our area. Alberto Sanchez, who took it off him, skewed his effort.

Next it was the turn of McAvoy to make an incredible block. The ball rolled away from Wickens, who was on the ground, and across to Sanchez, but his effort heading towards an open goal was somehow stopped.

Both sides pushed for all three points but it ended all square in the end.

: Wickens, D'Auria-Henry, Robinson, McAvoy, Parkes, Williams, Dibley-Dias, Pajaziti, O'Neill, Harris, Sanderson

Subs: McNally, Bowat, Tanton, Okkas, Godo, Šekularac, McFarlane

Just looked on the Offal, sees as though the West Ham game is on Sunday at 2pm, does that mean it is showing on SKY.

Don't think so.  It's only on the Sunday because West Ham are playing in Europe tonight.
